CISCO Training and relevance to other networking kit??
bio replied to Sam_Brown's topic in Wired Networks
For CCENT/CCNA you do not need to buy hardware at all. Save yourself $ by mastering GNS3. Spend $ on good books or CBT's. bio -
Well we had 3com 5500EI's in the past. Back then the ip forward-broadcast command did never work in VLAN mode. perhaps there is newer firmware available now. I would check at the HP site (if you have support contract) bio..

As you might know the 4500 series have a maximum of 10 slots. If you need more then you'll need the 6500 series. We have 2 cisco 4506 that handle our core traffic. Untill now they can handle traffic with ease. So a 6500 series might be a little overkill for a school environment. But i don't know you're infrastructure. We handle about 3000 wireless devices and 1000 pc's with those 2 cores. regards bio..

Cisco Aironet 1140 or CleanAir 3500 Access Points - Which are better>>?
bio replied to EN4CER's topic in Wireless Networks
Allways go for the Cleanair technology in an school environment if you have the budget. Running 180 x 3502 APS with cleanair in our school. The ablility to detect RF interference and adjust your WLAN automatically is just great. Remember all those microwaves, camera's and alarm detection crap regards bio.. -

Invest time and effort at this moment. Your network will get bigger and bigger. I would reconfigure this network. Create separate VLAN's for Wireless, Servers, Workstations, printers. Thus creating /24 or /23 networks. So it will be easier to do it now then in the future. regards bio..

To start off I would make sure that that website is not cached on the TMG box.

TMG White-list/Black-list for Computers, Not Users
bio replied to dannyjay's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
You can do this on an IP basis. So assign static IP those computers or an DHCP reservation. Or a special VLAN for these computers.. then create a rule with these IP (computers) with a blocklist assigned. place this rule above your normal rules. bio..
