  1. Use the LTSC version of Windows 10, it solves all these issues. That's what we've done. As it has no Start screen, no apps store, no unwanted apps and no Microsoft edge.
  2. Getting the same here.
  3. These guy did a whole building of our over the summer and did a cracking job. Welcome to Matrix Net Ltd Data Cabling, Network Cabling Fibre Optic and Audio Visual Specialists
  4. Changed the mapped drive option first as it was the easiest. Will get on disabling Bluetooth, tomorrow try the easy option first. Thanks
  5. Yeah the wireless signal just goes off, for about a second then comes back on, which is what made me think it might be a roaming issue. I don't think its Ruckus itself, as it doesn't affect Windows 7 laptops. So unless there is some protocol that windows 10 uses that 7 doesn't, but Ruckus supports I don't think its a ruckus problem. Although I have logged a support call with them, and are waiting a call-back. With it only affecting Windows 10, machines and also only wireless. (If you plug them in with a cable they are fine). I am leaning toward a problem with how Ruckus/Win10 detects which AP to connect to, and jumping around.
  6. Hi all, We have recently upgraded all our laptops to Windows 10 LTSB, and ever since we are having big problems with the wireless dropping off. Our wireless system is Ruckus ZoneDirector 3000, and most of our AP's are ZF7363's. The wireless 5 or 6 times a day drops off, disconnecting Mapped Drives and printers etc. You can double click on the disconnected drive and it immediately reconnects. The laptops are multiple different models, with different hardware, so I don't think its a driver issue. I have disabled background refresh on group policies, so I don't think its that. I have disabled all power management options and set to "High Performance", so don't think its anything to do with sleep mode. I suspect, its something to do with the way Windows 10/Ruckus handle Roaming, but cant be sure any ideas on where to start looking? Thanks
  7. This is probably a long shot, but do any of you guys have an old Smoothwall S8 box, that works but just gathering dust, that you would be happy for me to take off your hands? Thanks
  8. We have the same issue on Smoothwall. Got round it by creating an authentication white list, telling specific sites to bypass the packet inspection. As all the sites in our list (only about 10) are ones we trust its not much of an issue.
  9. We are having the same issue to. Been going on for a while now. Moved from Win 10 Education to LTSB and its cut it down a lot but still not stopped it happening. Updated all the drivers on the print server to the latest etc., tried several different methods of deployment. Still no joy, so if you find out what's causing it I will be very grateful if you post it on here.
  10. Was using Education 1709, but moved to LTSB 1607. Much less hassle.
  11. We still use it with Windows 10 across most of the school? Although for our media department we did buy the cloud version for that computer room from these guys. https://www.softcat.com/
  12. Just don't get this one. We have about 12 Toshiba Sat Pro R50-B's which we are trying to reimage with Windows 10, they are currently imaged with Windows 7. I have tried SCCM a Custom Windows PE boot image and even the latest version of Clonezilla. But none of them can see the SSD inside the laptop. Literally if you run Diskpart and "List Disk" its says "There are no fixed disks to show" However the Windows 7 image already installed on the SSD boots fine. I have checked the BIOS, its set to CSM mode, and there is no option for secure boot enable/disable. This is driving me nuts, any of you guys have any ideas on why nothing can see the SSD? Could there be a hidden BIOS setting? If so how do I access it? Thanks
  13. We have old 3Coms, New HP's, a few Netgear's and a couple of D-Link switches here, with multiple VLans. Never had any issues with any of them and been running this system 24/7 for around 4 years now. The 3coms we purchased back in 2006 and they are still going, although they are 10/100's with gigabit uplinks. So a bit slow, but never blinked in 11 years. The new and old switches seam to get along fine.
  14. Hi All I know this is possible because I wrote a batch script years ago that did this unfortunately I cant find it now. essentially we have a few old switches, and I would like to take regular backups of their configuration, essentially probably once a week using a scheduled task. I have setup a TFTP server, logged onto the switch via telnet and backed up the switch config to the TFTP server. However I am struggling to write a working batch file to do this and would appreciate some help. Its been so long I've forgotten how to do things like press enter in a batch file. Send text to the telnet session. Essentially I need my bat file top look something like this telnet 192.168.1.10 USERNAME Text PASSWORD Text tftp 192.168.1.100 put current.cfg backup.cfg Sleep 500 quit Thank in advance
  15. Forgot to mention. Laserlife are contractless. No min term no cost per print. Just the price of the toner (which are very reasonable). If you don't want the printer just finish using the toner you have bought and send it back.
  16. Have a word with these guys. We have a Kyocera TasKalfa 3051ci which is fantastic and it cost us nothing but the price of the Toner. Laserlife - Managed Print Solutions
  17. Hi Everyone I have a really annoying issue. We have bought a Laptop for a student with special needs. It has Windows 10 Edu on and I have set it up to logon to our office 365 domain. Mostly because it will rarely be used in school and to be fair I'm pleased with the result. However I have hit a snag. Everytime said student logs onto his laptop, its asks him to setup a PIN. Now, I don't want him to do this for several reasons which I wont go into, but how do I stop the annoying wizard from asking him everytime? Everywhere io have looked say disable it in GPO Computer Policy > Admin Templates > System > Logon > Turn on PIN sign-in. Which stops the wizard working, but not running. Ie you get the end and it wont set the pin. or change to a none local login, which defeats the point. Thanks
  18. Hi all, has anyone else been playing with this. I'm finding it great for these little Tablets for our Learning support department. Created a usb installs windows 10 and the applies the Schools App package fine. Just one issue, it locks down all the users for that tablet including the Administrators anyone know how to get it to apply just to the student logins? Thanks
  19. Thanks sorry that's a typo on my part on the actual WifiProfile.xml its the right way round, see below. ********** ********** ESS auto WPA2PSK AES false passPhrase false ********** Thanks
  20. Hi Everyone, I have downloaded the "Setup School PC's" app from Microsoft as it looks like it will be great to use with a few tablets we have lying around however I have come across a snag. The wireless setting don't seam to apply properly. I have checked the settings in the WifiProfile.xml and they appear to be correct. WifiProfile.xml ******** ******* ESS auto WPA2PSK AES false ********* false Passphrase Are there any strange settings I should be looking out for, that I could be missing. Thanks
  21. I bought one the day after it came out, along with Eve Valkyrie and VR Worlds. I must say I was blown away as I didn't except it to be as good as it is, still impressed now even though i've had a it a few weeks. Saying that though I have a couple of issues, firstly Motion sickness, it becomes unbearable after about 20-30mins of use especially with games like Eve Valkyrie. Secondly, the headset looses track and needs re-centring a lot more than I would like. I would highly recommend it, but not if your prone to motion sickness (I'm thinking of selling mine, even though I don't want to as it doesn't seam to be getting any better).
  22. Loving the return of Black Mirror, watched season 3 and went back and watch the first two again.
  23. Yep its very annoying, cant lock the tablets down without it. They both have all the latest windows updates on, same version of Windows 10, same hardware. Anyone know how to clone pre-configured Linx 1010B Tablets?
  24. This is annoying me, does anyone know how to disable the recent apps on the windows 10 start menu by using group policy instead of going into the settings menu? Thanks
  25. QUOTE=DJ-1701;1497826]Could you attach a screenshot of what you are getting and what it should look like? I've not seen a Local Group Policy Editor with a direct option for non-administrators unless we are talking about the SRP section. Here are the screens shots from each of the tablets. Right.jpg is the working one. Wrong.jpg is the one I'm trying to get working. Note in the wrong.jpg there is no users tab, only a computer one. Thanks
