From their website, the company running the memory4teachers promotion, RGS Media Group, are a marketing company who's remit is to promote other companies that want to sell stuff in the educational arena, rather than being a provider of educational resources to schools or LEA's themselves. As Zero Hour says...there's no such thing as a free lunch... I agree...brace for unsolicited contact, Captain! EXACTLY!!

PEO Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 made the decision sometime ago to not reply. I've had staff asking me if this is for real and have advised them to ignore. you get nothing for free. Pluss I can't be doing with the additional head ake of having to deal with spam mail.

They were advertising the site and, apparently, the sticks are 2GB but ... the company said the sticks will not be sent out until January. I was thinking of having a go but I think I'll wait until after Christmas and try for one myself.

I still have staff talking about the whole thing and forwarding the address to each other, sounds like the company are harvesting as many details as possible (in the time period) before actioning the stick send outs. I hope they actually do follow through though.

I came across this forum and wanted to post a response if I may. There seems to be 2 points to address: 1) Spam No-one that has registered with us will receive a increase in spam. We just don't do it and we suffer from this in the same way as everyone else. We don't 'sell the list to spammers' as I have seen on other sites either. 2) The demand from teachers has been truly overwhelming. Due to the huge demand we have had to rework production and distribution of the sticks will commence at the beginning of 2009. Finally, we are responding to every email and enquiry received from teachers and this runs into the thousands! However due to the huge response and number of emails this is a long time consuming exercise - our apologies to all who have not received a personal response as of yet - it is coming!
