65 Inch Classroom Smartboards Recommendations

Hi,

 

I’m looking for a mid-range 65" classroom interactive display. I’m not too concerned about the built-in software, as it will mainly be used to mirror the classroom PC and for basic interactive use.

It does need to include built-in speakers (rather than relying on a soundbar).

 

We previously used CTOUCH panels, but their replacement (i3CONNECT) is significantly more expensive. The screen will be used in a classroom environment, so it also needs toughened glass / durable build quality and ideally but not essential built in miracast or mirror app as cannot get the Microsoft display adaptors anymore that teachers are used to so simpler the better.

 

Has anyone got any recommendations?

Following, as I am looking for similar.

 

I have come across the Newlines from PWD which appear good - just basic interactive screens, with software installed.

We've had good results over a number of years with BenQ RE65xx interactive displays.

We usually stick to the BenQ RE boards. They don't require you to sign in / have a internet connection to use the built in apps, like some boards do.

If they are for normal sized (30 pupil) classrooms I'd recommend going bigger than 65".  We put 70" in about 13 years ago and have slowly replaced them all with larger ones as they are just too small for a classroom.

I liked the ViewSonic IFP65G1 and others in it's range, but price for them has increased recently.  They don't have any onboard computer so no OPS to worry about.

 

We've been putting up Newline C series and other than the minor issue of the remote control not having a freeze button (and until a recent firmware update a freeze function at all) they aren't too bad.  PWD had them on discount recently so we picked up quite a few for the trust to use over several of our sites.

We use ViewSonic screens, if something goes wrong with the screen they simply swap the screen out.

We have gone Newline throughout, their Lyra Pro screens.  Solid with good features. They also offer non-interactive screens for signage that you can use with their MDM which is great.

We are SEND school and they take an absolute beating.

Free cloudy management system (iiyama DMS) and screen sharing software including 2-way touch.

Do you have any of the Newline C Series as looking at these currently.

This was the last model I bought a year or so ago: Earlier ones in same range were very similar.
You can switch google mode on/off so the distraction of the app store isn't there and it can be used a more regular class display.

Sorry no.  I probably wouldn't go for them as our staff like the ability to cast from their laptops and I like being able to manage settings centrally.

Same as me but budget this year is so tight I'm going to have to go low budget this year and make do.

I am in exactly the same boat, looking at Newline C series as well. They do look very good for the money!

I received an email as someone has 50% off the C-Series so they are £595 which is  £1,000 less than a CTouch/i3 Connect I've got site wise.  Not my first choice but you can only afford what you can afford 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yep, I must have had exactly the same email. They also come with 5 years on-site warranty, I am tempted to try one. We were paying almost triple that for our BenQ screens.

Deffo worth a try for the price i think and give it 2 months and evaluate then to see if its worth buying anymore if needed.  I know from colleagues from other schools who have Newline boards and had problems with them but those were older boards so hopefully the 2025 C-Series may be better.

We had 30 ViewSonic screens (mostly 75" but a few 86") installed last summer and they've been flawless. One was DOA and was replaced in a few days without issue.

ok thats fine, really easy to use

Newlines here - installed about 80 a few years ago.  No major issues - a few quirks but people got used to them.  Stone Computers supplied and fitted ours.
