We've had good results over a number of years with BenQ RE65xx interactive displays.

I've passed on some feedback. Unfortunately with recent incidents there doesn't seem to be a perfect solution. We've upgraded standard duty mags to heavy duty ones to reduce doors being forced, but as you say, if they are attached to cheap MDF frames then the frame fails.

We have several Paxton PaxLock Pro handles installed across our sites and have experienced repeated failures. In some cases, students have been able to damage the handles relatively easily. For example, a set fitted to a pastoral office door has failed three times after students repeatedly jiggled the handle in frustration, resulting in a “handle stuck” error. On inspection, the internal mechanism was found to be damaged each time. The Paxton marketing describes the handles as ultra-reliable and suitable for high-traffic environments such as schools and commercial buildings. This doesn't seem to the the case. Are other schools using these handles, and if so, have you experienced similar issues?

Any AXIS Camera Station experts - load balancing
iSteve replied to iSteve's topic in Enterprise Software
Our solution with guidance from Axis, was that motion detection was killing our performance. We had 120 cameras all recording via motion trigger. Once we set the cameras to record continuously during school hours, and switch to motion out of hours, the problems went away. We are now up to 143 cameras on one server, and everything is fine. -

Microsoft NPS/RADIUS with Unifi controller for BYOD access
iSteve replied to iSteve's topic in How do you do....it?
I have one test AP added, by IP. You can't add a subnet in this section. -
Hi all, I am blundering my way through trying to set up NPS / RADIUS with Unifi APs. So far: NPS feature installed on Server 2022. Server is registered with AD. Basic policy is set up to allow users in certain groups to authenticate. Unifi has Captive Portal set up on my BYOD VLAN. A profile has been made, pointing to my NPS server for auth On my Windows 11 client, I can see my BYOD WLAN. The laptop connects, opens a browser but then can't do anything else. A prompt to authenticate does not appear. One thing I am not clear on, is on the NPS server, when adding a RADUIS Client, is do I add the Unifi controller or all APs? Would be very glad for any advice on this from those who might have done it!

Hello - we seem to have references to 8.4 and 8.7 on a user profile, so 8.8 may work if you are happy to share - thank you!

Hello, This may be the wrong category for this post.... We are missing our installer for Priva Top Control - this is used to manage boilers from a PC over the network. The company that provide it say that the software was phased out in 2021. Does anyone have an installer for of TC Operator / Top Control that they could send to me? TIA

The sensor display allows you to select Response Time or Downtime only.

Hello, We have an APC NetBotz 570 temp sensor and have imported a MIB in to PRTG so that PRTG can monitor the NetBotz 570. PRTG can 'see' the temperature sensor, however in the main PRTG window it displays the sensor's scan time, rather than the temperature value. Is there a way to configure PRTG to display the temperature value without having to go in to the specific sensor in order to see it?

Yep - we've done it within 2 minutes of power up. It may be that the reader we are trying is not 'second generation'...

Hello - is this the 'silent operation' check box, as that seems to have no effect at all, unless it requires the ACU to be reinstated or something like that?

Hi All, Have any of you successfully silenced the beep on a Paxton door card reader? We have a silence card which you are supposed to present to the reader to turn the beep off but it is still beeping on every card read. The spec sheet says it's for 'next generation' readers, but we don't know if our Mifare door readers are, or not. Any ideas? Stephen

Any AXIS Camera Station experts - load balancing
iSteve replied to iSteve's topic in Enterprise Software
This sounds similar to our experience. We're hoping that splitting the load between two machines will help but am not clear on the process -
We had to pay to extend the warranty. Still cheaper than the full board cost.

Any AXIS Camera Station experts - load balancing
iSteve replied to iSteve's topic in Enterprise Software
The issue was after upgrading from 5.0xx to 5.3, PTZ reaction speed is sluggish through camera station, and playback buffers the whole time. Out of hours, playback is fine. We have 127 cameras and many viewers. It's all on a separate VLAN but the update has caused a massive performance hit. -
Hi all, We have a large installation of Axis cameras at our site. We're looking to try and load balance these across two servers to help with some recent performance issues. It would be great to hear from anyone who has implemented similar. From what I've read, it seems we install two copies of Camera Station, and split the cameras across each server, we then configure the client to see both servers in it's list. Is that correct?

This was resolved with a new motherboard. Dell said it was a random failure.

iDRAC is alive. All items have green ticks apart from CPU and Memory which it doesn't seem to be able to see. Attempts to power up via iDRAC result in a timeout error.

Hello, We have a Dell PowerEdge T640 server which is just out of warranty. The server will start to POST when connected to power, the drive lights flash up as normal, and the Dell splash screen appears on screen for about 1 second, then the whole thing cuts out dead. It will not power up when the power button is pressed. If you disconnect the mains and re-plug the power supply, it will do this brief power up again, then cut out. We've done the usual things of holding down the power button with PSUs disconnected, trying both dual PSUs, as well as separately, but the thing still cuts out? Any common issues / tricks with these that might get it going? Stephen

It's not required. I was attempting to cleanly remove it to avoid any quirky problems down the line. If shutting it down and then deleting it from DC01 as per the link will sort it out, we can do that. Thanks!

Hi psydii We've been through those steps on the Spiceworks post earlier today. We've installed and looked at the MS LOL tool. There are no lingering objects. The force replications between two DCs section was successful, but the failure with the tombstone date being too long still persists when trying to demote DC02, or when trying to update DC01 with adprep.

Hi all, We have two 2008r2 DCs on a legacy domain; DC01 and DC02. DC02 has been shut down for several months and will no loner replicate with DC01. This of course creates issues when attempting migration to a newer OS, or when trying to demote DC02 and remove the AD role. DC01 holds all the FSMO roles. We have set a reg key to allow divergent sync - which I believe should allow the two DCs to sync even if the tombstone date has expired. We've forced a sync, which appeared successful. Going in to AD Sites & Services, we can replicate from DC01 to DC02 successfully. However, if we attempt to remove the AD role from DC02, it says that the tombstone lifetime has been too long and replication is disabled. If we try to update the schema using adprep, we get the same complaint, so it seems like the forced sync has not been successful. Can anyone advise on what might be happening here, and how to get DC02 back in sync with DC01, or how to remove DC02 leaving DC01 as the sole DC (which we will then upgrade) Thanks!
