Do you know about Keystone Jacks / Couplers?
MisterTechMan replied to chazzy2501's topic in Hardware
It's also worth pointing these out: Buy Excel Cat6 Plus Surface Mount Box 1 Port to 4 Port Versions White Just used 40 of them on a project, great for having a network point above a ceiling tile -
1) it depends what configuration was set - if you are buying more then standard practise is to send one of your existing radios to whoever you are buying the new ones from and they can read the current config and then write that to the new radios. There's an awful lot of features and options that can be enabled in addition to setting the frequencies. 2) yes absolutely - from Ofcom. £75 for 5 years iirc 3) digitall-comms treated us well with our last radio refresh (Although we went for Hytera instead of motorola)

65 Inch Classroom Smartboards Recommendations
MisterTechMan replied to JazzFlute's topic in Hardware
We had 30 ViewSonic screens (mostly 75" but a few 86") installed last summer and they've been flawless. One was DOA and was replaced in a few days without issue. -
It's that time of year again when we have one learner who needs EWP for an exam. The links previously provided for the last free version longer seem to be working... does anyone have the install files they are willing to share? 🙏

We have one of these to stop the gates being pushed open from the middle when closed.

After a trial of the other brands, we have just had 30 Viewsonics installed. Really really pleased and no issues so far. -

They do - not had any issues so far, with some being fully Intune and some Hybrid. -

That's not far off what I've just paid for a batch of the new 12" Surface Pro with Snapdragon! Which are great btw. -
Non-touch screen laptops. For the Surface Pro's, they come with the detachable keyboard and Slim Pen 2.
-
Laptops for all admin/support/teaching staff, with the exception that TA's each have a Surface Pro 12" with detachable keyboard. Each desk (excluding classrooms, they still have desktops) has a docking station so staff can plug in and used it just as if it were a desktop.

We have had x3 HiTi CS-200e in operation for the last 4 years - they have done us well and haven't had any issues, apart from general maintenance and replacing ribbons. They have probably done around 6,000 cards between them. I can't comment on the software as we use our MIS system to create the badges.

I believe we chose System for our Tutor PC's to ensure it's installed despite who logs on. -
Viewsonic myViewBoard new version 3 released
MisterTechMan replied to kennysarmy's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
That's correct! I do like the new version, however I have sent some feedback for improvements to Viewsonic. There is no longer the ability to move the toolbar as you could in V2. -

I am also trailing v3 I deployed it as a Microsoft Store App as it's now in the store - this may be easier? -
From their status page:
-
I've just gone to check ours and seen that they have changed their deployment method. We deploy ours as a Windows app (Win32) and the license installs fine - we've never had any issues with this.

Unable to create Dynamic Membership Rule (Intune)

Add a space between the -any and the "_" Try: (device.devicePhysicalIds -any _ -startsWith "[OrderID]:2025Year8") or you can use -eq depending on how you're planning to use the group tags: (device.devicePhysicalIds -any _ -eq "[OrderID]:2025Year8") -
Impero vs Senso vs NetSupport vs Others?
MisterTechMan replied to ashleylewisms92's topic in Network and Classroom Management
We pay £5.50 for Enterprise. Now curios as to what others are paying... -
I would also throw TP Link Omada into the pot - have been using it for years (over two refreshes) and it's solid. We replaced around 25 AP's for under £5k.

IU am assuming the foyer camera is a newer camera with Acusense, which is why it has the target detection (human/vehicle) Are you on Basic Event, or Smart event? (line crossing detection, intrusion detection etc) I would use the smart events where you can, with the Human target ticked.

It's also worth noting that the login url changed in the latest update (depending on what model you have) I upgraded two of our NVR's and my bookmarked shortcuts stopped working. If you download Hikvision SADP, it should find the NVR's on the network and you can launch the webpage from there. Also I have to flick between Chrome and Edge - some parts are more stable on the specific browsers.

Has anything on your filtering changed? MS use msftncsi.com and msftconnecttest.com to check connectivity, could it be something is blocking these and falsely reporting that it has no connectivity?

watchguard Authentication setting
MisterTechMan replied to pickman's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
You should have a policy that starts with HTTP- and HTTPS- you'll need to add the second range to here. Feel free to PM me - I have have only ever used watchguards, but by no means an expert! -
Cashless Catering - Two Schools - One Shared Canteen
MisterTechMan replied to Smitty's topic in Educational Software
I could be thinking outside the box here and there probably is a far simpler solution, but could you put two hard drives for dual OS in the tills and boot into each school's system? Or could you have two VM's running on the till? That may be easier?
