Dos_Box Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 The actual day is almost here, but with many high street and online retailers now running offers, I thought it time we got the usual thread up, just so we don't dip out on any deals that may sell out by next Friday. As per usual, please provide the link to the product (not a link to a link) in your post, and where possible, use a proce tracking site\browser extension like CamelCamelCamel to confirm it's an actual deal and not just a price drop from a hiked price. Oh, and I'm still after a decent micro-atx B550 motherboard. Prime Day was a bit of a disappointment with Scan selling stuff cheaper! And I'm also in the market for a new washing machine
Andycat Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 I'm after some headphones, either Sony MX5 or Sennheiser Momentum 4. if anyone spots anything. Got the camel alert set for Amazon! Also some Tile tags..
ICTDirect_Dave Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 I'm after a new iphone contract. 24 month, around £30pm with as little upfront as possible. Upgrading from an 11 so a 14/15 would be ideal. Looks like IDmobile have the best deal so far with a 128gb 14 at £29.99/mo and £9.99 up front. Nothing in a 15 comes close yet.
hardtailstar Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 I've not seen any good deals but stuff in my save and compare on Amazon seems to have tanked in price since yesterday but are not showing as black Friday deals! I use the save and compare as a price checker/reorder list for stuff I buy regularly. If I'm shopping and see a deal in Tesco on a product, I always check against the save and compare list. I had a pair of compression shorts in the list and they were priced at £50 yesterday and today they are £24 but no song and dance about it being a black friday deal. I assume it probably is though.
LeMarchand Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 Got a Ryobi strimmer for £46: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01NB0C831 Plus a small dehumidifier for Bonus Daughter #1. £40 is what we paid for ours, but has been higher since summer. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0B8PHSXSL
CHiLL Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 I'd recently got my girlfriend a Steam Deck and was looking to get a dock for her. One of the most recommended ones is currently on a Black Friday sale: https://www.amazon.co.uk/JSAUX-Compatible-Ethernet-Charging-Deck-HB0603-Grey/dp/B0B9RBLBQS/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3RYKVRJSLI15A&keywords=stream%2Bdeck%2Bdock&qid=1700470703&sprefix=%2Caps%2C46&sr=8-3&th=1. It's not actually 42% off, as it was listed prior to the sales at £39.99 and has frequently been down to £31.99 before I was looking for it.
supportman Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Tempted with the Xbox series S https://www.amazon.co.uk/Xbox-RRS-00007-Series-S/dp/B08GD9MNZB Does anyone know how the performance is? I really don't want a console with a disk drive so looks like my only choice. Very good price though considering...
JJonas Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 (edited) The main difference is it does not have 4K support. It also only has 512Gb of storage so you will probably quickly need to expand that. This is a link to the expansion card https://amzn.eu/d/06h4Uxb it is not in stock at the moment as I believe it has just been on sale but expect to be spending about £125 for 1Tb You can use a cheaper USB hard drive for storage expansion but Xbox Series X/S games will not be playable from there. Xbox Game Pass is a compelling option too, though Microsoft's proprietary expandable storage isn't cheap. 1

I do recall reading some time ago that Microsoft will be allowing third party PCIe storage expansion cards in the future, but to date I haven't seen any.
Jobos Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 When buying an Xbox with Call of Duty MW3 which is the better option, the disc or download code?
DGardiner Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 When buying an Xbox with Call of Duty MW3 which is the better option, the disc or download code? from what i understand MW3 is just a DLC for MW2, chances are the disks empty or a not full installer anyway
LeMarchand Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 (edited) Some people prefer the disks as then they can flog them after they've finished the game. I'm trying to save space and go for downloads only. EDIT: Can't see a "we buy for" price on CEX, so might not be possible for this one. Edited November 20, 2023 by LeMarchand

There are some bargains about but not as many as retailers would like you to believe. For instance the other year I bought a bike in the sales and then found it cheaper later in the year. Dos_Box Posted November 21, 2023 Author Posted November 21, 2023 You've got that right! There are some bargains about but not as many as retailers would like you to believe. For instence the other year I bought a bike in the sales and then found it cheaper later in the year. Indeed, which is why places like CamelCamelCamel are so invaluble these days. I'm always surprised at how discounted some things can be prior to BF and other big sales days.
Davit2005 Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 Wasn't going to indulge but a soldering iron station I was looking at was almost £40 cheaper and a helping hands station was also £10 cheaper than normal. Getting into some different hobby work that does not mostly involve a computer :-)

A pretty good deal that! It's the same most places now and comes with a game for a tenner more. My son has been saving for one and after christmas will have enough at this price, so I nipped into Game yesterday and picked one up. 1
