sallys1305 Posted May 17, 2024 Posted May 17, 2024 Hi Do you have any screen shots of what schools see on their page and how they downgrade. Sorry if they are on the chat and I have missed this Sally
themightymrp Posted May 17, 2024 Posted May 17, 2024 You would click the Settings button at the top right of Wonde to go to the main page. Look for the Wonde License section as highlighted. Then you should have a downgrade button at the lower right of the next screen 1
ITGuyNW Posted May 17, 2024 Posted May 17, 2024 We had the email last night but when I log in, I see no option under settings to downgrade.. For other people who have had the email but do not have the option to downgrade (and even when chat support say you're already on basic, so you're fine), check a few days later as its suddenly appeared! If I had taken support by its word, we would have been liable a couple weeks later. 1

Wasting their own time really
BlueSkies Posted July 3, 2024 Posted July 3, 2024 I called and complained and also mentioned that there was no option to downgrade on my account ... hey presto the next time I logged in, the option appeared! Also, I mentioned that some companies charge for Wonde Integration ... which surprised the Wonde person I was speaking to! Do any of you pay an additional amount to companies for Wonde Integration? 1
howartp Posted July 3, 2024 Posted July 3, 2024 Do any of you pay an additional amount to companies for Wonde Integration? Yes, some do charge for it.
CHiLL Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 We've received an invoice for Wonde's Reading Cloud as normal but noticed that they've sneakily added the £360 for the premium service, despite only using their basic service. Just be wary when paying Wonde invoices for their other services. 1
CHiLL Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 I've double checked and we are still on Wonde Basic, as the banner at the top of the page after I log in states.
Darkheart Posted April 9, 2025 Posted April 9, 2025 I was baffled to see an invoice from Wonde when I'm sure it was the DfE that approached us to use them. Been using Wonde for over 2 years without having to pay them anything. After seeing this post I jumped onto the portal and downgraded. I find it underhanded to have to opt-out of a premium service you never asked for in the first place.
ITGuyNW Posted May 20, 2025 Posted May 20, 2025 Had one of those emails this morning where they demand we tell them about any changes to our systems. Seem to want more and more info every time.
TwistedHelixis Posted May 20, 2025 Posted May 20, 2025 One of the schools I work with were moved over to the paid version last week (again). Contacted them and got moved back to free version
Sonic007 Posted May 21, 2025 Posted May 21, 2025 If you login and control your schools in a MAT Wonde portal, they told me I had to login to each school individually to downgrade them back to Basic.
Danp Posted June 4, 2025 Posted June 4, 2025 One of our schools received an invoice, but when I log in to my MAT portal, there is no option to change their package.

If you mean the Enterprise login, then no you have to do it at school level. I just email them and ask them to downgrade it as I cannot..... 1
robslack Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 We have just had an email come through from Wonde about this (not sure why now) and have just downgraded to basic.
JOrdan01070 Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 I had the email come through last week but this was only after I click on the DPIA section and downloaded the template for one of the apps, but at no point did it say about changing to the premium account.

No, that is something different. Sounds like somebody opted in? Data Recovery by Wonde, is a cloud-based disaster recovery solution which automatically syncs your crucial school data throughout the school day. Should your school experience a cyber incident or natural disaster, you can be confident Wonde has your data protected and readily accessible in easy to use formats. https://www.wonde.com/datarecovery/
themightymrp Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 Wouldn't the data they are backing up be in the MIS though? And surely the MIS provider (if Cloud based) or the school (onsite servers) would be backing things up anyway?
Jaan Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 So after asking what the Wonde data recovery is we got the response below...... i'm like, no those are two separate Wonde products.......as @supportman says.....seems very underhanded... Quote Hi Jaan, Thanks for getting in touch. Data Management is the name for the new subscription Wonde has developed based on feedback from schools to enable access to new features available on the existing Wonde platform you use. The ‘Data Management Licence’ is to differentiate from our newly launched Wonde Basic service, which is free of charge. The Data Management Licence enables schools to use additional features on their Wonde platform which will optimise how they manage and control access to their school data. Please see here further information detailing the features included in both the Wonde and Wonde Basic platforms. Please also see below further information on some of these features: App security information: Key information about Edtech applications to assist schools with creating and maintaining DPIAs Enhanced DPO contact notifications: Designated DPO contact will receive notifications when any of your associated applications update their security information Downloadable permissions report: Download informative reports detailing data permissions your school shares with approved applications App data permission preview: To aid schools through the buying process so they may identify the data requested by an application ahead of purchase Monthly activity report: Keep track of changes that have been made within your school account However, if you do not feel you benefit from the additional features within the Wonde Platform, you are able to downgrade to Wonde Basic, which is free of charge. To change your account to Wonde Basic, an administrator for your Wonde account will just need to log into Wonde, head to settings and then from here you will see a box which says 'Wonde Licence'. Once you have clicked on this box, it will show you the difference between the two versions and you can then downgrade. This will then generate a notification to inform our finance team to cancel the invoice. You will still be able to use Wonde Basic with your connected applications, and you will be able to connect to any new applications you choose to in the future. I hope this helps, but please let me know if you have any questions. Kind regards,
leegcvcc Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 I found the paid for version really useful, but depends on your GDPR process and how slick yours is. Ours isn't a slick as we'd like yet, so the DPIA etc are useful as well as the permissions stuff. Possibly can be done without, but for us, it's useful.
andy_b Posted November 10, 2025 Posted November 10, 2025 At it again: Quote If your school would like to retain access to the additional features within the Wonde Platform, no action is required and an invoice for the Wonde Data Management Licence of £180 + VAT will be issued within the next 30 days. If the additional tools and features are not of benefit for your school, you can downgrade to the free Wonde Basic solution directly through your school portal.
