No, can't say we see that on ours.

This is the PDF that came with the kit when we bought it. You say you've got a Google version of it - where did you get it from / can you share a link? Instruction Booklet 2010.pdf

Yep, we started completely afresh in Sept 2021 with new groups based on roles, and only read-only unless you actually needed edit rights. Just playing with all this right now, but at the moment none of my teachers can get into Next Gen including the ones I invited and accepted last week (so overnight shouldn't be an issue). Grumble grumble

I presume your schools are up to date with 7.226 (Autumn 2025)? We haven't put 31070 DB Patch 1 on whatever it fixes.

If your root CA is expiring then yes you need a new one generating and deploying. The new/old switching routine renews your dynamic certs as you say, but it won't renew them past the expiry of their root. Those switching instructions possibly came from me at some point in the past - I know I've posted that solution with screenshots for someone on here - but my root CA and dynamic certs have different expiries hence why it works for me.

Static IPs are an extra £5 for their BetterIP product. Our (old) BRSK routers are both Icotera i4850 which I don't *think* does Modem Only mode. However in the community centre up the road I bypassed their router and put a TP-Link AC3000 directly onto the Cat6 from the ONT. Old router is still there ready to power up if they moan when diagnosing issues.
-
ps - I did see some cables being installed underground last week by a 3rd party comms company but don't know if it was for BRSK.
-
Openreach says we're full fibre, BRSK says there's an issue, but the entire area around us is pink ("Ready for service"). I placed an order on Black Friday 2023 and ran with 4G dongle hanging out the window pending installation which never happened! Now on Virgin Media but want to switch as soon as I can.

Still same as above; will recommend them to anyone. One note to add, I think they did have a batch of routers/contract with a supplier which worked fine for home users but didn't handle edugeek-type users fiddling with settings (eg custom DHCP range, reservations, different default subnet (it defaults back to 192.168.12.x which I changed to match my LAN devices)) and got lost at reboot/firmware update - but I think they've moved to another model/contract/supplier now so I don't think that's a problem any more. Still waiting for BT to upgrade my fiancé's street where I now live!

Modern UI popups (aka volume control or Win+P options) not appearing
howartp replied to howartp's topic in Windows 11
Found it. "Remove Quick Access" (User Config > Policies > Admin Templates > Start Menu & Taskbar > Remove Quick Settings) was doing its job too well. We had it turned on, partially in testing but seemingly live in other policies, to try and remove the non-working Volume Control icon from the taskbar. Turning it off allows flyouts to work, and turning off "Desktop > Disable all Items" allowed right-click to work. -

Sorry for the slightly necro response but did you get an answer about this Tom? This is something we're looking at at the moment. Peter

Ditto.

Have you included all the existing pupils in the upload as well? You can't just upload one new record, you have to include a whole new dataset.

The MIS:Sync tool will import manually from CSV and XML and upload to ParentPay, it doesn't just have to be SIMS. File > Export template will give you the attached XLS. Alternatively I've attached our live (redacted) XML with just one student in. Peter PP_Students.xls PP_Students.xml

Visitor/Student/Staff sign in systems - Inventry or SignIn or EntrySign?
howartp replied to MSGT's topic in General Chat
I've been following this thread with interest as we're with Inventry and getting fed up of it. The other schools in our new trust are using eReception, aka Custr, but this hasn't been mentioned in this thread - does anyone know anything about it?- 31 replies
