michaeljbrewis97 Posted January 22, 2025 Author Posted January 22, 2025 Yep it went down last year - I remember their AI demo well, as it didnt work and it was a very awkward conversation. Going to BETT tomorrow so will see what they say. Tis the first day of BETT today isn't it? Tradition pretty much states Bromcom slows to a crawl whilst everyone is there now. Certainly did last year as aligned with the whole "all efforts on launching & shouting about AI for BETT" whilst we were all here screaming "sod AI we didn't ask for - just fix the damn MIS". (see Page 7 of this very thread for when we were all complaining about the same thing a year ago today) 1
William1 Posted January 23, 2025 Posted January 23, 2025 Hello, I don't know if this is true but I was told that schools can request a rebate from Bromcom for poor performance if they evidence the issues they had this week. Does this sound true?

PotNoodleTech Posted January 23, 2025 Posted January 23, 2025 Hello, I don't know if this is true but I was told that schools can request a rebate from Bromcom for poor performance if they evidence the issues they had this week. Does this sound true? You'd need a good lawyer to go through the fine print of the contract(s) - It's not gonna be easy or cheap. They are not gonna give you a refund of thousands just by you dropping them a quick email.
William1 Posted January 23, 2025 Posted January 23, 2025 Hello, Yes I would have thought exactly the same. It was put to me like it was something schools were doing and there was a process... Like I say I thought the same as you.

Like I say I thought the same as you. You should. We're a private company and we negotiate our contracts with penalty payments for missed SLA's. Schools, certainly large trusts and LA's should be doing this too. Unfortunately, Bromcom don't like this sort of behavior and start mudslinging about 'kickbacks' when LA's negotiate with providers, without providing any detail about the contracts (that they were not party to) (see https://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/239744-schools-week-arbor-s-kickbacks.html)
Marci Posted January 23, 2025 Posted January 23, 2025 (edited) Generally if you're impacted by outtages / slowdowns etc and complain to your CSM you'll get an offer of SMS or Email credits in the first instance. Edited January 23, 2025 by Marci 1
SteveM555 Posted March 4, 2025 Posted March 4, 2025 Anyone else have issues with the Bromcom API this morning? Getting 502 bad gateway
machy Posted March 4, 2025 Posted March 4, 2025 Anyone else have issues with the Bromcom API this morning? Getting 502 bad gateway Looks like our salamander sync played up last night because of this
themightymrp Posted March 4, 2025 Posted March 4, 2025 Our Power Bi dashboards haven't refreshed today. I was wondering if it was to do with authentication methods as had a number of problems yesterday with our Freshdesk integration and staff having to re-enter their passwords in the iPad Mail app.
Oaktech Posted March 4, 2025 Posted March 4, 2025 Does this look like it's related? Admins may be unable to create new Graph connections or update current connections via the Microsoft 365 admin center Issue ID: MO1021402 Affected services: Exchange Online, Microsoft 365 apps, Microsoft 365 for the web, Microsoft 365 suite, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, SharePoint Online Status: Service degradation Issue type: Advisory Start time: Mar 2, 2025, 7:20 PM GMT More info Additionally, current search index crawl schedules may not be met, leading to stale items returned in Microsoft 365 search results. Scope of impact This issue may be producing Graph connection or search index crawl scheduling problems for any admin serviced by the affected portions of infrastructure in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Root cause A service update that was intended to address an unrelated issue had an unexpected side effect to Graph connectors and search index crawls that requires an additional configuration change that wasn’t implemented ahead of time. Current status Mar 4, 2025, 7:15 AM GMT The deployment of the fix to the remaining impacted service environments is steadily progressing and has reached the final stages of validation and deployment. We're continuing to monitor its progress and we'll provide a timeline for completion once one becomes available. Next update by: Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 3:00 PM GMT
SteveM555 Posted March 4, 2025 Posted March 4, 2025 I checked 10 mins ago and it's all backup now. Though the Bromcom status page for the REST API has remained at 100% uptime
Marci Posted March 4, 2025 Posted March 4, 2025 Livefeed and ThirdParty Read Only endpoints all had issues overnight. Workaround has been put in place pending a proper fix. 1
mitchell1981 Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 We are relatively new to Bromcom, and we are experiencing big ups and downs with regards to speed. For example, the Firedrill report. When Bromcom is working well, it takes about 15 seconds to generate. When it's working slowly, it can take five minutes or more, which is not acceptable for such a report that needs to be generated and printed quickly. (We are going to schedule it to export to a mailbox as a workaround). Is this normal, or do we have something unusual going on? I've made all the recommended firewall exceptions, and our internet connection is good.

Is there anything else scheduled to run when your fire drill report runs? 1

We had a perfect system on day 1, then magically it was as if they cut our server resources... things were slow... we complained. It got better. 1
mitchell1981 Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 Well it's more ad-hoc really. I've just been randomly running it at different times in the day, and it varies a lot in how long it takes. Of course other users in the school may be running reports that I'm not aware of.

I didn't realise they did that.
BromcomOT Posted April 3, 2025 Posted April 3, 2025 Hi mitchell1981, if you are experiencing any issues using the system please do let our team know and they'll be happy to look into this for you. If you need any contact details, just send me a message. Thanks
Dr_Zeux Posted September 4, 2025 Posted September 4, 2025 Are many other schools having no access or severely slow performance to Bromcom today?
synaesthesia Posted September 4, 2025 Posted September 4, 2025 Yup, as per other thread: https://status.bromcomcloud.com/ 1
supportman Posted September 5, 2025 Posted September 5, 2025 Totally down for us again, they never learn 😕
