Memories of playing that 4 in one game with tennis, football, a tetris like game and a racing game. I think it must've come bundled with the console Haha yes i had this too, Columns was the tetris like game if i remember correct 1

I just found out it's actually on Steam now! Might have to pick that up... Chip's frigging Challenge! When my aunt got a PC and I was visiting, I spent a lot of time on that, as well as SkiFree... I really thought that if I kept trying, I could get away from the abominable snowman... 1

When my dad swapped his Archimedes for a flashy new Windows 95 PC, the Microsoft Best of Entertainment floppy disk was my absolute favourite. 1

I really thought that if I kept trying, I could get away from the abominable snowman... Me neither! I always just assumed that was the 'end' of the ski slope. You get so far down and the yeti eats you. Unavoidable. Guaranteed failure state. But in later life, I did find out there's a button to ski faster! I think it's F? With that you can outrun the yeti and ski infinitely (or until you crash) Chip's Challenge 1 is free on Steam, and Chip's Challenge 2 is discounted to £1.99 until 6pm today, when the Steam sale ends. denzal2k4 Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Earliest Memory would probably be Turrican on the Amstrad I think, great game I also loved Tanks on the Amiga 500, Paperboy and Monkey Island (grog!), but the game that stands out most for me that properly got me into gaming was Half-Life on PC, I'd never played anything like it and was hooked and carried on playing it and it's successors and mods (Counter Strike, Day of Defeat, Natural Selection) for probably the next decade! Now I've resorted to a bit of Rocket League and CS:GO, when life gets in the way you need a quick pick up and play 5 minutes game. 1

haci Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Earliest gaming memory was probably on the Vic 20 a game called blue meanies and later on Raid over Moscow Probably my most memorable gaming memory was my first PC MMORPG Dark Ages of Camelot, loading it up for the first time and being immersed in a world with hundreds of other players just blew me away. 1

Oh for the joy of a pencil to help wind the tape back in 1

I suppose you could probably put Granny's Garden on the BBC micro at school into a gaming category right?

Disease Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 My earliest Gaming was in about 1981 when I stayed over my mates house whos dad had a IBM Computer with a green screen monitor and we played Colossal Cave for the whole weekend, that got me hooked and my mum Later bought me a Spectrum 48k, I have been gaming for over 40 years now! And plan to keep on Gaming! 1
steve Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 The very first memory of gaming I have is playing my uncles Mattel intellivision console in about 1982 when I was just 7. I was mesmerised, you could actually control what was inside the TV! The same Christmas I was given a Tandy Ogre Eater and I can still remember the sounds it made. A lifetimes love of technology has followed, through Atari 2600, 800XL, STFM, Gameboy and to now PCs. 1
