  1. This is the ridiculous "fix" we found for this, it does work but is a massive PITA 1. Set up a mail merge in the Word document with a local file. 2. Change the Word document extension to .zip from .doc or .docx 3. Extract the zip file into a new folder. 4. Open the word\settings.xml file or word\settings\settings.xml file in notepad 5. In notepad, change the merge file source location and name information in both (two) places with the url of the sharepoint source file, and save (example: target=‘file:///c/documents/myfile.xlsx’ to target=‘https://sharepoint/folder/filename.xlsx’) 6. Repeat 4,5 for the file rels\setttings.xml.rels 7. Rezip the extracted folder and change the extension back to .doc or .docx OR 7b. replace the files in the zipped folder and change the extension back to .doc or .docx 8. Your word document is now successfully mailmerged with a sharepoint source file. And it works perfectly. 2. For anyone else that gets this particular issue, run this SQL query on the solus database, hopefully save you a week and a half waiting for support: USE [sOLUS3_DEPLOYMENT_SERVER] UPDATE [sOLUS3].[DISTRIBUTED_DEPLOYMENT_PLAN] SET status = 4 WHERE status = 9
  3. So I deployed some updates on the 21st Dec and a couple of them have been stuck in Rolling in progress mode since then, despite me trying various things and going through operating system upgrades from 2008 to 2012 to 2019, we have also been getting errors in SOLUS such as Error retrieving agent package site records, the wait operation timed out, I have also just seen the operating timed out on a client machine when trying to get the update. The updates that are stuck are SIMS discover 2019 Autumn and SIMS Autumn 2019 Consolidated workstation patch 2. Trying to log into the Capita support portal is proving useless despite having used it before. Any thoughts??
  4. I've got this to do in the new year is it best to do a copy of the machine in Hyper-V and upgrade that, or just snapshot it first then upgrade that, don't want the SIS ID changing or anything like that , that might break it.
  5. Nissan were (and maybe still are) doing the same thing, you got 10 days free use of an ICE car, which I used and it worked really well, sad that the price I would have to pay for the same car today is more than double! I paid £3k deposit and £130 per month, current Leaf is about £5k deposit and over £300 a month! Hence the current 2nd hand BMW diesel estate £3000.
  6. I googled "F1 autralian replay" to see what time the highlights were on and it just plain listed the results, ruined it for me.
  7. Seeing the local shed company van that says "Free Erection" on the back
  8. So we already had our domains verified, all users syncing with 365 and ADFS configured and working, yesterday we ran the hybrid config wizard on our exchange 2016 server, all went fine once the dns txt records were added. Now a user created on site as a 365 account does pull through to 365 Outlook. All fine so far. The issue is when I migrate a mailbox to Online the only option it gives for target delivery domain is OURDOMAIN.mail.onmicrosoft.com, it doesn't list our normal domain name, the wizard has added the .mail.onmicrosoft.com email address as an alias in AD, so does this mean that it doesn't matter that is showing in 365 as it will get routed through anyway or does it need to be showing our FQDN?? Looking online seems to suggest that you cant have it set to your FQDN if it is running ADFS, which it is. We obviously haven't yet switched our MX record over, as we want to know everything else is correct. Anyone been through this that can maybe shed some light??
  9. Cleveland Abduction...Jesus, intense film based on a true story about a single mother who gets abducted while on the way to a custody court hearing, it's a good watch.
  10. Clearly a spoof guys come on!
  11. Anyone using a library system with RFID integration, we have self checkout kiosk and an alarmed gate scanner, that we have become quite keen on, Libresoft say they don't support it though, currently with MLS and DTECH kiosk/ gate.
  12. Will have to start looking at that then!
  13. No they aren't and I don't know why it's a Microsoft technology that actually does what it's meant too! Let me know if you get stuck with it.
  14. Looked into Microsoft Direct Access? (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/remote/remote-access/directaccess/single-server-advanced/deploy-a-single-directaccess-server-with-advanced-settings) we run it here (we also have smoothwall) and it works a treat, no need for VPN etc, might take a day to setup, but then when offsite you can continue to use mapped drives all that stuff as if you were in school.
  15. RE Mosyle, I'm quite liking the look of it particularly the free part of it! Just trying to work out if we would massively miss any features. Can anyone tell me if you can add plist files to apps? Can't see an option for it. We like to pre-fill any server address' etc in Apps such as Foldr. Ta
  16. ONLY £9??? when most others are around £3-£5. I didn't realize you got 25 licences with InTune, these can then be issued to student iPads and aren't linked to Staff members accounts I assume?
  17. I had a play with InTune yesterday, and it's OK, but couldn't find info about pricing , we pay FTE for Office 365 does this cover InTune as well?? I don't think it does, but if it does that would be huge!
  18. So how many of you using Mosyle are using the free version? Looking at alternatives to Lightspeed (used for over 800 iPads), mainly due to cost but premium Mosyle is the same if not a little more expensive.
  19. Huawei P10 Plus is pretty good, would be looking at second hand now but would be sub £300 128GB storage, good camera.
  20. Yeah sure that's how you're *SUPPOSED* to do it, then we get those bits of software that have to be run on the server from the admin account it was set up with and things get awks.
  21. No they drive at the appropriate speed @DaveP, bloody red squirrels drive me nuts, in before @witch police comes Knocking.
  22. https://specopssoft.com/product/specops-gpupdate/ Really good bit of software installs into AD, so you can select multiple machines in AD right click and shutdown / start up /turn off/ gpupdate etc very useful, just get the free version.
  23. It's funny we have Epson Short Throw Interactive Projectors at our secondary and they barely get used at all, exactly the same thing at the primary and they use them ALL the time, teaching handwriting, maths problems the whole lot.
  24. Loved Winamp! iTunes is yet to catch up with it IMO, the ability to press q to queue up the next song, simply amazing!
