  1. No printers showing here on IOS 17 devices, ios 16 are fine, had been working fairly flawlessly till then. Hopefully its resolved soon, I have people chasing me for it to be fixed.
  2. Edulink One if you have SIMS is fantastic does everything from parent comms, Online Parents evenings, remote register access, forms, clubs. Pretty cheap too from what I remember.
  3. Thanks Mr B. I thought there was another option as well but it only seems to be open in Outlook, we are going to switch to emailing pupils instead, and push parents to using the portal rather than being spoon fed. We shall see how this goes!
  4. Good morning! Might be a bit of a niche one but worth a shot.... We use SOCS for Sports Team sheets among other things, it has the ability to email team sheets out to parents, once send emails is clicked it proceeds to open Outlook with a BCC list of all the parents whose children are in the teams, our Sports dept use this a lot for all of the sports teams, it results in over 200 emails going out within a 1 hour period, this (I'm convinced) is resulting in us being marked as spam by the likes of Gmail and Outlook/Live/Hotmail resulting in our external emails to new starters, external contacts etc going to junk/spam. This is the preferred method by the PE team, and my alternatives of manually creating emails through iSAMS (which avoids spam detection) are a lot more work for them, so I suppose my question is, is there a way of sending these out without getting us marked as spam? Any thoughts welcome!
  5. Luckily we haven't had a million emails from parents/staff....oh wait
  6. Thanks for the tips, it started working again the day after I posted I've advised staff to try not to bulk send emails via Outlook and to use iSAMS to send messages where possible, it did mention it wasn't happy with the DKIM signature, but it passes on other checking sites and Postmaster doesn't have any faults.
  7. Hello Edugeekers, We have had an issue for the past few days when any user emails a Gmail account it gets sent straight to spam, we have read as much as we can on the topic and have checked SPF/ DMARC/ DKIM etc Spamlists, Google Postmaster, all reporting back no problems, when we send via iSAMS it is fine as it relays it through Sendgrid and it has never blocked us, so I'm partly wondering if a few emails that went out via Outlook, that did contain multiple Gmail accounts has caused the block, and if there is anything we can do to sort it out. We have logged a case with Google who say to allow up to 2 weeks for a response/ action. I also used the livechat where he said we needed to add Google to our SPF record despite the fact we use Office365. We do occasionally get temp block from Hotmail when users send multiple emails out at once, but that resolves itself fairly quickly once they add us to allowed senders, with Gmail even if you mark the message not Spam subsequent messages still go to spam. Wondered if anyne had been through similar and how you resolved it? Suggestions welcome!
  8. Tonbridge Kent. I Should add we now have about 40 Chromebooks remaining roughly half of those will have 1 of the 2 USB-C charging ports damaged, they will be available mid-September. The Desktop PC's we have about 40 remaining and they will be available Mid August.
  9. Trying to gauge interest at the moment, we are having a hardware refresh and will have the following available: 60 ish VeryPC Glide AIO i5 4570s CPU £50 8GB RAM 120GB SSD storage 24” Screen Power Brick No Keyboard/Mouse Fresh Windows Install 60 ish Chromebooks £40 per unit Asus C214M Celeron CPU 4GB RAM 32GB Storage 11.6” Touch Screen Flip screen front and rear camera These have been in use in a Prep school for a few years so have usual signs of kids usage. No warranty implied or given! Numbers are vague as we have offered these to staff first and are receiving some requests for them, we would massively prefer these go in large batches and not 1 or 2 at a time, priced to sell as we don't have the storage space for them all! Discounts for large order COLLECTION ONLY!!! Thanks!
  10. Earliest Memory would probably be Turrican on the Amstrad I think, great game I also loved Tanks on the Amiga 500, Paperboy and Monkey Island (grog!), but the game that stands out most for me that properly got me into gaming was Half-Life on PC, I'd never played anything like it and was hooked and carried on playing it and it's successors and mods (Counter Strike, Day of Defeat, Natural Selection) for probably the next decade! Now I've resorted to a bit of Rocket League and CS:GO, when life gets in the way you need a quick pick up and play 5 minutes game.
  11. Following on from this 2 screens had to be taken away and shipped to the Netherlands for repair, we are still awaiting their return! 6 months and counting...
  12. So it works but we have to ctrl+ F5 each time they open YT in a new browser or clear the cache in each browser.
  13. That has sorted it for us now as well thanks.
  14. Same here Leeds 62, it is working for us as network admins, but everyone else is getting the white box even with specific allow rules for it and enabled ads.
  15. We waited 2 days for a response but then an engineer said he can come on Wednesday, hopefully with parts to fix!
  16. Not sure if it is related but we have 3 that have started doing this over the past week or so, we assume the backlight is dead if you hold a phone torch to the screen you can see the words on screen but it has no brightness. Sadly Prowise support aren't being very responsive and we now have to order temporary TV screens untill they get fixed.

    Parents’ Evening

We are a MAT and use SchoolCloud and Edulink's parents evening system, both video based systems and both use the same backend video system (Twilio), SchoolCloud does it's thing and does it well enough, but for not a huge amount more you get a whole parental engagement system, including attendance, behaviour, forms, teacher registers, reports all Synced from SIMS
  18. From experience don't rely on just an offsite NAS ours was not domain joined had seperate credentials and got encrypted with everything else, we have reinstated crumbly old tape backups, you need a reliable airgapped backup.
  19. The team is being restructured once I leave and this job is now available: https://www.skinnerskentacademy.org.uk/805/vacancies/careers/19/senior-it-technician Closing Date: Friday 7 January 2022 midday Start Date: February 2022
  20. Touch wood, ours seems fairly reliable at the moment, I realize it is holidays so low usage but not dropping any pings and 3rd party tools are running ok.
  21. Had an update on our ticket: Good afternoon, We are aware of an issue where some Hosted SIMS customers are encountering errors when attempting to Sync their third party apps with SIMS or when attempting to login to the SIMS .net Client on the third party connector device. This issue is currently under investigation as a priority and a further update will be provided by 16:30 today We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Kind Regards, SIMS Support
  22. They have done this with us a couple of times, I wouldn't get your hopes up it feels very much like they are clutching at straws, with us they have tried a new vpn config and certificate, restarting their firewall, other "improvements" none of which have helped at all.
  23. I fear I know the answer but having contacted their support a month ago and still awaiting a response, is there anyway for us to relink our Xporter on Demand to a new Hosted SIMS server, we have been trying to rebuild the network and their lack of assistance has made this difficult as lots of our services were synced this way, fortunately we have been able to move to Wonde for most of them but Squid say it's a no go. Help?
  24. Oh yeh of course its document by document, thanks Microsoft!
  25. We had a play with it a while back and I *think* this means it doesn't have an Intune license assigned? At which point we saw the cost and gave up.
