As an additional helper, have you turned on Cloud Delivery in Hive?
-
Same as @djm968 First one doesn't resolve but other 2 do.
-
No one is complaining here...yet...😆

We've set the expiration group setting in Entra to 2 years (this covers GCSE/A level years) so no activity in a team after 2 years gets deleted whilst giving them warnings of 30 days, 14 days, 7 days - Deleted. Works really well!

We've been using Hive for a week or two on a few MFP's...it seems fantastic, apart from shared devices such as IT rooms...it appears to lack a great user experience such as having to sign into the papercut printer...Does the auto link script overcome this?
-
It seems like the user needs to sign up via the invite email? Am I understanding it wrong? Be so much easier if the user didn't need to accept the invite email.
-
Yeah, we're going through a migration from MF to Hive atm. The invite part of the user set up is a bit annoying but its a small price to pay!
-
We use them. Never had a complaint tbh!

Evening everyone! Just throwing this one out there - has anyone used Airai? (https://airia.com/) Cheers!

This ^ If they're working out of their downloads folder, then its their fault. Simple

User profiles don't really exist anymore. Onedrive stores all user data and sharepoint/teams stores shared files. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/redirect-known-folders Windows Known Folder move is what you want after you start your journey into Intune and utilising OneDrive. If you're starting to look at OneDrive/Sharepoint, i'd look at going Hybrid AD so you can utilise Intune. I don't massively care about Downloads or Music but Folder move backs up Documents/Desktop/Pictures. Its a big move but one you won't regret.

Just wish they'd do Entra integration on a Portal, thats all. Seems a faff to install an app simply for WiFi.
-
This is my understanding!

Thanks @DrCheese I remember seeing your post years ago on this. I tried this but still found it wasn't 100% reliable. Some devices still had an issue or take a long time to 'get internet'
-
We're more of a BYOD school and not school-owned devices which is our challenge. If your devices were all school owned, you could install Cloud Filter and it should be fine. IIRC, and this was a very long time ago, I don't think UniFi sends the packet in a standard way and smoothwall doesn't read it. (again, I could be wrong) We found it works but users will constantly get 'Internet not connected' in their wifi status and no webpages will load. It was way too inconsistent for us to have a working BYOD network but as soon as I put an NPS in the middle, its been rock solid. We are planning to remove all of our (or majority) on site servers next summer and we're looking at Cloud Radius but it seems very expensive at the moment.
-
Haha!! No worries at all. If you have a smoothwall and unifi, I believe it doesn't pass framed-ip packets which doesn't work well with Smoothwall. (I could be totally wrong...) and this is for RADIUS clients so I just stick an NPS server in the middle and pass authentication details to smoothwall from NPS. However, you're just talking about Guests which we don't authenticate, they just get the lowest web filtering policies and we use the Voucher on unifi to protect it. I don't massively care about logging Guest activitiy. Its quite straight forward to set up though.

Hi all, We're looking to get rid of most of our servers this coming summer, including our DCs. We run Smoothwall but UniFi doesn't talk nicely to its RADIUS server so I have to put an NPS in the middle. Does anyone run UniFi with any sort of cloud authentication? Entra 365 would be ideal but looks like you have to buy into UniFi Indentity Enterprise which looks costly. Thanks!

Just wanted to revisit this thread, i'm looking at password managers at the moment...anybody have a strong recommendation? Keeper looks good for us so far.

Smoothwall - Maiden, update 33 hard lock

Updated overnight and no issues here. -
Noticed there's a new client out for V2!
-
Yup, seeing this too on our iSAMS instance...and OnShape! We have a ticket into them for this too!
-
We looked at this too but felt it was a bit in its infancy...but looked promising!

The problem i've got is, i've tried all the major 'Classroom Management' tools and no one is perfect. Senso is so close to being fantastic but it has some drawbacks (mainly websites acting oddly for no reason - disable the service and the website works again)
