Thats what we are (xirrus) finding it really expensive!!

What wifi system do you have?
-
Honestly guys, it took weeks of diagnosing and had a really great guy (Mark) from USA speaking to me daily to do some diagnosing. It took a lot of pushing and we were rolled back to a previous firmware and have only just been fixed a month or two ago. Drove me crazy and got a lot of people frustrated. Push push push was the answer to get things fixed.

ABTutor V9 - Disconnecting clients
Netwacky87 replied to Netwacky87's topic in Network and Classroom Management
Oh nah this is totally ABTutor's issue, seeing it on most PCs and soon as you restart the ABTutor service, it comes back online for a day or two! -
Hi all, Anyone got ABTutor v9 and anyone seeing their clients constantly disconnecting and have to restart PC or service to get it working again? Clients drop like flies! Thanks Mart

We had an issue thereby the radio's would randomly drop out ipads and laptops with no explanation. It took a senior chap at Xirrus and a few weeks of debugging to work out it was when there was a network key (not radius) and a portal connected to it that there was an issue. It took weeks of diagnosing and was fixed in a recent firmware release. We were kept on an old firmware for months due to the issue. If you get hold of Xirrus, they're tech support is really knowledgable if you get high enough!

HP Core Switch - Routed VLANs DHCP not working
Netwacky87 replied to Netwacky87's topic in Wired Networks
Yeah, the above. I'm routing between VLAN 1 and VLAN10 (separate site) which seems to be working fine but has messed up the DHCP of the other VLANS (2,3 & 100) -

Yeah, all correct. DHCP started to not work properly when IP routing was enabled. -
HP Core Switch - Routed VLANs DHCP not working
Netwacky87 replied to Netwacky87's topic in Wired Networks
Quite new to IP routing, so thank to all for helping! The VLAN500, 2 & 3 can't get DHCP leases (Smoothwall). The VLAN1 (default) can get leases from a Windows DHCP server. Should I remove the helpers from all the VLANs? -

I must be misunderstanding what an 'IP HELPER' is...there are multiple DHCP servers, one in each VLAN on different ranges. -
HP Core Switch - Routed VLANs DHCP not working
Netwacky87 replied to Netwacky87's topic in Wired Networks
So we have VLAN1 (default) 192.168.1.6 (Windows DHCP) on 192.168.0.0/22 VLAN2 (guest wifi) 10.16.0.2 (Smoothwall DHCP) on 10.16.0.0/20 VLAN3 (RADIUS) 10.30.0.2 (Smoothwall DHCP) on 10.30.0.0/20 VLAN100 192.168.4.2 (Smoothwall DHCP) on 192.168.4.1/24 Thats the main ones I noticed that vlan100 had one of our domain PC's on VLAN1 (default) earlier... Thanks! -

HP Core Switch - Routed VLANs DHCP not working
Netwacky87 replied to Netwacky87's topic in Wired Networks
I assume your DHCP server also has had the scopes created? Thanks for your help! -
Hi all, We've got a HP 5412rzl2 core switch and we've turned on IP routing to do some inter-vlan routing. Since then, our VLAN's don't seem to be receiving DHCP leases (Just IPIPA's) I've set up dhcp-helper addresses for the required DHCP server in each VLAN's but that doesn't seem to have made a difference. I've read that it may need a reboot? (odd!) Thanks all!

As an IT dept we've used Freshdesk for years (free version) and i'm just putting on our Maintenance dept...few rules in the free version and it works a treat!
-
@robyholmes - Interesting post!! Have you got link to the new Spiceworks server? Never mind - found it...for peeps! https://community.spiceworks.com/product-plans
-
Where are your servers hosted @raiseaticket?
-
Thanks @ozydave. I found Spiceworks was good but had limitations...for example, I cant sort into multiple departments (so for instance Maintenance cant see IT's tickets etc)
-
Hi All, Just canvasing opinions, looking for a cheap (ideally free) helpdesk as we keep hitting limitations on our Freshdesk sprout plan, the next plan up seems a bit steap! Stumbled across this: https://raiseaticket.com/ Wondered if anyone has used or seen it? Its a new one on me but looks quite good! All the best! Martin
