Thanks for the reply, what I meant by doing a message trace was that I can see nothing is hitting that mailbox from that address. I get other hits for other recipients but not to our attendance officers. I have just had a call logged today to that now another member of staff is now having the same issue but has been receiving them all last week. Nothing shows in quarantine, but I would expect when doing a message trace using the sender as [email protected] to see it hitting our domain and then being move to quarantine or to fail etc. its not even hitting our domain. Thanks again for the reply.

Afternoon All, I have a really strange issue with InVentry, we have alerts created which send notifications to members of staff when a student signs in late. Attendance get all the late notifications and heads of year get notifications of students in there year group. This had been working great until about 10 days ago when our attendance officers stopped getting the notification emails, HOY's still received these. logged with InVentry and call was closed an issue our side. Thing is if I do a message trace in 365 it comes back no results, so its like it not even trying to send. If I change one of the users email addresses in InVentry the alerts start working again but only for a day. No changes have been made to Inventry, O365 or LAN to cause the issue. Has anyone else had anything similar or would anyone have any ideas? Its really got me scratching my head. Thanks Mike

Thanks for the reply. It looks as though we may have resolved this on one AP but don't want to speak to soon. We upgraded the firmware back in April and even though rolling back the firmware doesn't work, rolling back the firmware then performing a factory reset seems to work (at least we cant get it to fail anymore). But it has to be done in this order. A factory reset on its own doesn't work nor does a factory reset and then down grade the firmware. Strange

Morning All, Got a very strange issue with our Cambium wireless, it has been in for over a year and was working great until recently. We are having access points go offline randomly apart from 2 which seem to go off at around 4am every day! Other access points go offline when laptops start connecting to them. I don't think they are rebooting as they are usually off for between 1-2 minutes and a full reboot takes them offline for 5-6 minutes. Looked in the logs a "status down" event is logged. using CLI shows a generic linux error of "DEV_REBOOT_WATCHDOG_RESET". When the AP's do go off and come back on they show as being online for say 5 mins but there uptime is 40+ plus days, which to me suggests that they are loosing network connectivity but not power even though they POE??? Reset a test AP to factory defaults and it came back online and in sync but it still goes offline again when clients start to connect. All ap's have full internet access and are not filtered at all. Anyone had anything like this? I have reached out to cambium support but unfortunately replies are taking a long time and are lacking in helpful information. Thank you all in advance.

@tri_94 I am checking them in O365 admin centre. We ran the script about 3/4 weeks ago and since then it has been with Microsoft. They couldnt get it to work so replied saying scripting is not supported. Thanks for you advice.

Morning All, I am having an issue where students where able to change there O365 profile pictures. We have changed this so they can no longer do so but the majority have already changed there's and some are inappropriate. I have created and imported a CSV and ran a powershell script to to remove the picture from exchange online using the usernames in the CSV file. The script runs without error but doesn't actually remove the pictures. IN some strange cases if the user has had 2 pictures it just reverts the picture back to the first one that they used. I have raised this with Microsoft who confirmed the script is fine and said that this "should work but might not" and if it doesn't scripting is not supported. This is the script i have used: $users = Import-CSV -Path "~\Desktop\userlist.csv" foreach ($user in $users) {Remove-UserPhoto -identity $user.email -Confirm $false} I can see that it reads the usernames and runs through the list (takes some time) but doesn't actually remove the images. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards Mike

Afternoon All, I am hoping someone can help........ We have a primary school which is set up as a VLAN on our domain and I am unable to rebuild any machine at the primary VIA WDS. I get "ProxyDHCP did not reply to request on port 4011" but it only happens on this VLAN (we have lots of VLAN's which where setup by council). I have checked the scope options in DHCP and these are correct. I have brought a machine back from the primary school and built it here fine, i have changed the VLAN on the port to be a "primary school" VLAN and it fails again, it just doesnt like that VLAN. We had new hosts installed last summer and upgraded VMware and this is the first time we have tried to rebuild since then. We are a CC4 site (until the summer) and this is logged with RM and they have been looking at it for around 3/4 weeks but we still got nothing. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards Mike

1. Secondary School 2. 1400 Users 3. 100Mbps Lease Line 4. Lease Line 5. about 7k But we are moving to a new 1000Mbps line in the summer for less than 6K we are having a smoothwall fitted today. We are in the north east but I am sure that our new ISP covers the Uk so if you want any details, as i was surprised at how cheap they where, drop me a PM. We use the company for other services so know they are reliable. You could reduce the schools outgoings (this will make them listen) and get a far superior internet connection.

SIP Trunk provider recommendations?
MikeGreen replied to Shaun_Dark_Lord's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
I am just going through this for our primary school, and i think we are going to be going with TalkTalk. They do our ISDN lines and not had any issues at all and they came in with the best solution and have provided everything you have asked for, SIP, FTTC, 6000 minutes for landlines and mobiles for a pretty good price. If you need any further details just PM me. -
Thanks for responses! We use Lightspeed filtering currently through schoolsbroadband so we are moving to netsweeper in the near future. We havent tried it from home as staff dont have staff laptops anymore here. And the exceptions were done VIA URL.

Afternoon All, I am after a bit of advice. We have Sage finance system which is hosted by them and are having issues with speed and messages saying the machine has lost network connection. They believe it to be something "our side" but from all of our diagnostics we cant seem to find a cause. We have unblocked all URL's and ports that they requested, I have ran the machine unfiltered and the issue still occurs, I have setup continuous Pings to their server and google and outputted the results to a text file and while the ping to google is good there are dropped packets in the ping to sage. We have put exceptions in AV & Firewall, tried different PC's and different OS none of which resolves the issue. We have 100mb leased line which is not being maxed out and when the issues happen with sage internet speeds appear good. Anyone have any suggestions? any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mike

Morning All, I was hoping you may be able to offer me some advice. A desicion was made by one of our former SLT member not to renew staff laptops due to cost, this member of SLT has now retired. The laptops in use are between 8-10 years old. Staff are not allowed to use their own devices for work purposes. We use Home Access Plus+ as a way for staff to work remotely and I was hoping you may be able to give me some ideas of devices we could use for staff to access HAP but that are also cheap to fund, so that I can revisit this desicion with our head of school. We just need a device with a keyboard and decent sized screen to run HAP/RDS any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Mike

Web Filtering, what to go for?
MikeGreen replied to manick's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall

Good Afternoon, Our maths department invite parents in for a evening maths session this has proven to be very popular, so popular in fact, that on the last occasion they struggled for space. They have asked if there is any way of them doing this over the web and sharing there screen and being able to respond to questions. Does anyone know of any free pieces of software that we can try? all of the ones I know of are limited to a handful of connections and we need to be able to broadcast to between 30 to 60. If we have to pay for one I will look at that the only issue is that is only for a trial session to se if it goes well, so Ideally I don't want to pay for software if its only for one session. As always any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards

Afternoon All, Apologies if this is a simple question, I have setup Home Access Plus and it is working fine for everyone. I want to create a security group within AD called "HAP USERS" I want to limit access to Home Access Plus so that only users that are a member of this new security group can access it, has anyone else done this? can anyone point out how I would do this? Kind Regards Mike
