New Edge, certainly. I think Microsoft have made great strides in making Chromium their own and seems more robust to me. I would say there is a case for having both browsers, but Edge is certainly my primary now.

I changed our default browser across site to Edge. Setup auto sign in/sync & it's perfect. Still have chrome installed.

 

On our intune only devices, I've only allowed Edge

New Edge at home, and it's now the default at work. Chrome is no longer installed as part of the deployment task sequence but it's still out there on machines that haven't been refreshed recently. We don't use Google for anything (except Search) so everyone signs in with their Azure AD account (seamless SSO) and syncs their settings and it works really nicely.

I've been using it exclusively since the beta and not had any issues. Hoping to clear Off Chrome, Firefox etc apart from niche cases. The SSO and profiles are brilliant.

Edge too. Removed everything else.

Interested to know how people got the auto sync working unless I'm missing something glaringly obvious. I auto sign in but I'm sure I didn't manage to do auto sync.

 

Much prefer it though. Staff seem to prefer it too. Although they have all been using safari for years

We switched to it as soon as it was out of beta. I didn’t deploy Chrome so we were in need of something more robust by then! It’s been the default since, and I have no complaints about it.

 

I use it and Firefox on my machines.

Google school here so Google's account sync is a big plus for Chrome, and I suspect we'll continue to assume that as our de facto default.

 

Currently working on new Edge deployment but really liking the look of it so far. The MS account sync will be a big plus point for it, especially for staff users who build up more sync-worthy data than the pupils ever do. Those who don't really know which browser they're using will be better catered for.

 

Personally, I would be happy to use it but can't wrench myself away from Vivaldi.

We use Google Workspace across all our schools and nurseries, so Chrome is the most sensible answer for us. We have Edge installed for everyone, but very few use it.

We've got both installed across the site, users Google and 365 accounts are all synced up and both browsers are set to login and sync cloud profiles. Only real problem comes when people switch between browsers without realizing and complain all their favorites are gone.

I tend to stick with chrome as my daily driver and use edge if I need to log into an alt account. Although mostly out of habit.

Soz to side track thread, what version of Linux do you run and where abouts did you get the installer and distructions

 

I'm holding off installing Chrome on Linux at the moment and just sticking with FireFox.

They *Desperately* need to sort out auto sign in/sync on Windows devices - Last I looked you could force them to sign in, but as we have roaming users that would drive them mad. It just needs to do it siliently in the background, as our google org auth's against Azure AD anyway.

Google Chrome all the way, given for years it was solid/reliable and controllable via GPO. It's the new Edge which has now aligned itself with Chromium. I never actively used or deployed the old Edge in a live environment, only test environments.

 

I can't help but think it'll be Microsoft always playing catch up, given it's Google who control the source code. I know Microsoft can optionally add features and tweak the GUI, but I think it's still very much in its infancy. Give it 12 months and I think the differences will be more noticeable.

Edge on all my devices. Work wise Edge is default and Chrome is being removed.
