It should be OK, even if the router has a public IPv6 address as is becoming more common.

From the sounds of things, it should just be a case of disabling IPv6 in DHCP Server. No requirement to run round clients.

The end user needs to review Site Settings and allow Pop-ups and Redirects + Intrusive Ads. Close the tab, re-open as new and Channel 4 should work.

The policy I've created is working/implemented, but awaiting feedback end users. What URLs do you add to the list?

Can this be achieved via GPO? I found this guidance, but cannot get it to work. The support notes are terrible Google.

Apologies to bring this discussion back in the spotlight - I'm currently supporting a school using SIMS Connected and we've made great progress improving both the internet provision with a robust leased line, as well as an up-to-date switch infrastructure. The firewall rules as per ESS recommendations are in place, yet users still see sporadic performance or have their user sessions ended without warning. Testing other well known websites in the same browsing session continue to operate as expected, which should rule out WAN, LAN, device or browser issues. I see there's also a Service Status page, but I question its reliability, accuracy and whether this is real time. We do have a support request open with ESS, but they haven't really come back with anything we haven't already tried or explored. Does anyone on this forum have any other further tips or advice, or what really worked for your school? I'm trying to rule out further configuration issues, but I know also I'm clutching at straws.

I've always considered ASM as the bottom slice of management - where devices are registered to the organisation, as well as Apps purchased for the organisation. The MDM receives all this configuration and allows you to deploy/customise the user experience.

It certainly is, but like others have commented not via Microsoft Update, only via ISO.

I have done exactly this previously - Windows 7 (existing OS) > Windows 10 LTSB15 > Windows 10 LTSC19 + patches, in place upgrade. Took a few hours and certainly do-able in school time with enough planning.

I run Papercut 23.0.9 at multiple sites, 2019 VM, 4GB of memory, 6 cores - no issues.

The trend as I'll refer to it, appears to be ESS will eventually offer support directly to all schools, as third party agreements (as discussed on this forum) are not being renewed.

On the rare occasion I've had the same/similar issue, remove the drive, image it from another device, then install it in the new machine to allow OOBE to run.

I would say they're wrong. Many schools for example are using Microsoft Windows, but use Google for internet searches. Even if you did hypothetically go all in with Microsoft, your end users are most likely using an Android device, using the Outlook App or Apple, again using the Outlook App as a common example. If anything, sticking with one or the other is a lot harder than it sounds.

The data handling can't/shouldn't be a problem. Microsoft and Google are American companies, but comply with GDPR data handling requirements in the UK and EU. The support aspect however I can't comment on, but all I would say, in a time of need it's good to get clear and prompt solutions to problems.

I echo other comments - I only upgraded all 2016 Servers to 2019 this summer. Just because the license/download is available, doesn't mean you should deploy it. Yes there are some nice features/enhancements and better security, but you're probably operating behind a hardware firewall anyway. Slow and steady wins the race!
