  1. I've setup ASM a few years back and used it happily with Intune (and previously Lightspeed) but have now been tasked of setting up ABM at a new place I am working at and wanted to just make sure what I had done in a previous life was the correct way or if things have moved on since. To my understanding you are best using ABM/ASM running tandem with a MDM solution like Intune, Lightspeed, etc to get the full functionality and management features on your Apple devices? I've seen people mention about using ABM/ASM on its own but my previous experience of this is that you don't get much in terms of control on the devices. Also off the back of this whenever I worked on MacOS or iOS devices with this setup we always had to wipe the device before putting it on the system so that it puts it in a 'supervised' mode otherwise you can't do much with the device. Is this actually the case still or can devices be enrolled with full control without having to wipe them? I'm making this post as more of a sounding board to make sure I'm not going mad and that I do understand the setup here but if any could correct me or confirm with me what I've got then that would be great. As always you are all amazing and I welcome any feedback or ideas
  2. Anyone here been affected by the MCPP changes end of last year and had to change their licencing because of it?
  3. Morning all! Has anyone got experience in using/setting up Lucid Recall for schools? Our SEN department have had it for some time but wondered if there were any better alternatives out there which do the same job. Thanks in advance for any tips or advice!
  4. We were wondering how to do this recently and the 'Fresh Start' option in Intune seems to do the trick for us. We're part way through migrating everything over to Intune so we're having to import devices onto Intune then wipe (Fresh Start) them again in order to clear anything off. At this point I'm just glad it works and saves me having to find the apps on the WSfB!
  5. What's it like on a device without any SIMS installs on?
  6. We've just upgraded to 7.202 last night and have had a few hiccups too. The few that I've seen were to old name entries on Solus Did a complete removal of the Solus client and re-install resolve it?
  7. Just caught this thread. We're still on 3.3 and just recently got the "component required cannot be found" error. It doesn't help also that their support isn't replying back so we're looking at the new version..
  8. Thanks for confirming. I'm going to start testing this to a handful of machines and see if we can't get back to something workable, Roll on site wide managed printing and we can ditch these legacy printers!
  9. Did you manage to get any further testing done to confirm this solves the printer nightmare issues? We moved onto Type 4 drivers where we could but that caused us other minors issues down the road..
  10. Has anyone else had any experience with managing iOS Apps successfully in Intune with regards to keeping them up-to-date? We've moved to Intune from Lightspeed MDM where you could approve and deploy an update to an app and then update said app on groups of iPads but on Intune that doesn't appear to be an option. I can deploy apps without issue but I am running into issues where Showbie, Teams etc need updates to function correctly or include newer features and I'm hitting a brick wall. Online searches seem to indicate that MS haven't implemented this feature yet.. I feel I can't be the only one pulling my hair out on this!
  11. That's awesome I've just tested this on my test dist list and it sent a bounce back from the post master which is great. Pity the rules won't work as some reporting on it would be handy but I'll be happy to have less spam flying across our network! For reference this was the command used; Import-module activedirectory Set-ADObject “CN=TestEmailGroup,OU=DL,DC=Test,DC=com” -Add @{dLMemSubmitPerms=”CN=ADGroup,OU=Security Groups,DC=Test,DC=com”} Thanks again
  12. Mostly synced on prem but I think one or two might be cloud only
  13. We've had a wave of spam emails go around and some of them have got a hold of our student distribution lists which has been fun. I'm looking at setting up some mail flow rules to redirect any external emails sent to a DL to a generic mailbox called Spam. However I've been playing around with the rules this morning and can't get it working. Has anyone else had any experience with this? Currently my rules are like this; If the sender is located Outside the organisation and If the recipient address matches TestDL@domain Then redirect and generate report etc, Cheers!
  14. We're looking at going to Intune as an alternative to using MDT (Which I just got my head around!) as we are currently using it to manage all our iPads. Managing iPad's seems straight forward enough and we've slowly moved most of our fleet over from Lightspeed. The trouble I have currently is getting my head around setting up Autopilot. I need to rewatch some of the training videos but has anyone else moved to Intune to replace hte likes of MDT/WDS? I think once it's clicked in my head it will make sense but trying to get anything to stick during this lockdown is a chore!
  15. Does anyone have any experience in setting up SharePoint libraries with a custom button to be able to print from the browser? To put this in more context we have users who would like to print off images, Photoshop files and multiple documents from SharePoint Online without having to do them individually or have to sync them locally to do so. I've seen on sites about creating custom actions to print and create print buttons but a lot of these are old blogs and only print out the entire web page. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
