6Foot2 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Just started snowing again, pretty heavily...
tg12 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Pretty heavy here, has been all night. Got my snow day at least! And here’s my dog demonstrating the depth of it!
Chris_ Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Quite a bit of snow up here in North Yorkshire! Lots of schools around are shut. Hardly any staff in school today but we're open
DeGrimmy Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 After a very sunny morning, it's snowing quite heavily now. Can't stop looking out of the window!
korifugi Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 The snow warning for my area... I'll DEFINITELY not be eating any then... 1
AJWhite1970 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Our local radio station's "update your school snow status" page is crashing with a 503 error, this is before even a single school has closed and the mayhem that tomorrow morning will bring......
sted Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 my car was clear at about 7:45 (it lives in my garage) at about 11:15 it looked like this (about an inch or so of snow on the roof)
6Foot2 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Our heavy snowfall has abated. The sun is out, there is even a slight thaw. Ready for the frost this evening/tomorrow morning...
XiJ Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Hitting South Yorkshire now. Got a good 3-4 inches and roads are covered. I love snow and love driving in it but just the drive home of the office was terrible. Snowing heavy and blizzards then excess snow blowing across from the fields. Zero visibility. Even the M1 was 30mph for the short stretch I was on. Got up to 50 in the M18! Kids schools closing - so if I can make it to them we’ll play in the snow!
southhamster Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 "The South West could be one of the only areas to escape the snowfall " *sigh..... Not here! Our school has just closed because of snow, we are in Torbay, and will be closed tomorrow too. About 4cm earlier and still some flurries. We're at the bottom of a steep hill so could be dodgy if it freezes.
mikeprice Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 No snow overnight here just had a slight flurry for about 30 mins - not much effect looks cold out - haven't even opened the front door! (retirement is getting better and better!) 2
VeryPC_Colin_M Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 It is pretty bad in Sheffield. The ones who braved it into work have been sent home. But now there's a lull so I'm waiting it out hoping the roads get clearer. 1
StevieM Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 It is pretty bad in Sheffield. We know that, but what about the snow? (Just kidding We luv ya really. ) 3

Mine feels that way even after 30 mins or so driving. If the temps higher it seems fine. Edited February 28, 2018 by Patrick

Wales Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Lovely looking at the pictures of snow, unfortunately in West Wales its bone dry and the sun is gleaming! But it is very cold, Thursday and Friday look interesting for us!
elsiegee40 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 (edited) Our next problem is that Mr gee40 and I are supposed to be in Birmingham by lunchtime on Friday. We were thinking of going up Thursday afternoon/evening, but... https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings Edited February 28, 2018 by elsiegee40
SchoolFibre_Paul Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Majority of schools up here in the Newcastle area are closed today. So I'm spending the day working from home!

DCUK6 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Weather forecast says it should be snowing here now. Not seen a spec all day today. Why is there no snow her, WHY?
pooley Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Not seen much snow here (S Wales), local authority have just decided all schools should shut until Monday. Result.
DCUK6 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Not seen much snow here (S Wales), local authority have just decided all schools should shut until Monday. Result.:mad: Your not even near the east. We are sorta but still open!! I just want a day where i dont have to scrape windows and get frostbite. Also want to watch season 8 of the walking dead.
elsiegee40 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 I got up at 5am because I was cold and switched the heating on. I can’t remember when I last did that. It was -8 when I got up at 7am. I have no idea what the “feels like” was ... but it was painful when we were digging the car out of the overnight snow
elsiegee40 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Son says that UWE is closing the campus on Friday (Bristol) due to the weather forecast
