Joanne Posted April 11, 2018 Author Posted April 11, 2018 Had a circulate problem yesterday, also have a problem with MLS connect where it deletes users that go into the intake folder.... also can't view the helpdesk ticket - it tells me a problem has occured!! Feel bad for the support team. Had the phone answered very quickly when I have rang up though.... curious.

LeMarchand Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Had a problem with Libresoft (sounds like someone forgot to include a check against a new feature in an existing one). Was fixed in minutes - quicker than it would be to even get through to MLS! 1

But not my decision, though I'm impressed with the service so far. 1

Is it something our librarian can get through her logon or do we have to request a database or something?

Our school is reintroducing a library after many years without, and I have recently contacted MLS as we used their locally hosted version of MLS Eclipse software previously... but going by feedback here I may be best to steer away (Something that I wouldn't expect from a solution costing £5k+) I will go through the various discussions, but would appreciate suggestions / pointers as to what (alternative) products are available. I'm no librarian (and we don't have one as yet) so I've no idea what the 'solution' should be able to do, or conform with; besides cataloguing and booking in/out resources - although the idea of electronic books does appeal (if that is an additional option with any packages?) and prepared to host locally, if reduces costs, etc. Thanks,

The client on the librarian machine is easy enough and very quick. Wonde does the syncing and O365 for the student logons. We will start saying money on year 3.. going to miss that hold music at Microlib.

We're just working with Access IT to get it working with our Single Sign On solution and we should be ready to go Yeah the Java thing popped up when I first logged asking me to allow it through our FW, would prefer a HTML5 client like Eclipse... oh wait. My main issue is with the IDEX smoothwall client timing out so I might have to stick the librarians machine on a different proxy so it doesn't. SW have looked at it loads of times and it still times out.

But reading how many people just on here are going over to it is anyone worried about their ability to scale up for the influx of clients they are going to have? Its something I have asked them on email so I will see what they say but if anyone here already has the answer I would appreciate it. I just don't want to walk into another situation like the one with MLS where a system is cripplingly slow and our internet gets blamed everyday.

Our librarian went to raise a call yesterday through MyMLS as she's done for years, only to find out that MyMLS is no longer relevant and she'd have to make a new login through some Crapita portal. No, don't tell us you're changing anything important will you, just assume our crystal balls have the latest firmware and are currently working and we'll do it all for you! Argh! WHY ARE THEY STILL IN ******** BUSINESS?
