Carla Gugino stole the show for me as Verna. I won't spoil it if you haven't seen it yet, but it's well worth your time if you haven't. And like many of you, I finished the second season of Severance on Friday, I can't wait for the final one Still so many questions! Isn't it great? 1
ICTDirect_Dave Posted March 24, 2025 Posted March 24, 2025 Back to The Wheel of Time once again (because it is ALL I talk about these days) Episode 4 has been labelled the best fantasy tv epsiode of all time which is high plaudits. Plus it gave Josha a chance to play seven characters which was fun. Bloody great stuff!

Hamil is class in everything he does. Still the best Joker and his Skeletor was brilliant too. Have you watched Midnight Mass btw? Same producers as Usher and another brilliant series.

The Americans really are doing some great ghost based stuff atm.

I have been telling people to watch Paradise as well, the trailer and synopsis both dont sound great but its a whole different game at the end of episode 1.
elsiegee40 Posted March 26, 2025 Posted March 26, 2025 We have just watched The Richard Dimbleby Lecture with Gareth Southgate. It covers resilience, leadership and the challenges faced by you g people today. It’s definitely worth watching. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m00293l5 1
FN-GM Posted March 27, 2025 Posted March 27, 2025 Has anyone else seen Adolescence? The internet seems to be raving about it, I thought it was pretty average!
ZeroHour Posted March 27, 2025 Posted March 27, 2025 Its the whole single shot camera work that I found gripping. Episode 2 with the camera being mounted to a drone at the end was very slick. I cant imagine how hard it was for all the actors to deal with having to be composed for the whole single take.
LeMarchand Posted April 14, 2025 Posted April 14, 2025 Watched the first couple of eps of the new season of Black Mirror. So far, a marked improvement on the last season. Still trying to work out if the ending of the second ep was happy or sad. The first ep of the new season of Doctor Who season I also found to be much better than has been the standard of late. Still not impressed by Ncuti Gadwa in the lead, though.

mavhc Posted April 18, 2025 Posted April 18, 2025 Niblings showed me a show they're watching, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronja,_the_Robber's_Daughter_(2014_TV_series) it's on iPlayer, Studio Ghibli's first television series.
ZeroHour Posted April 18, 2025 Posted April 18, 2025 We just finished "The Pitt", really enjoyed it, gritty ER in realtime like 24.
garethEds Posted April 19, 2025 Posted April 19, 2025 Lately I've been pulled into Cobra Kai by the Mrs and have binged S1-S3 so far. Just about to start Season 4. Also - watching the latest Handmaid's Tale - which is one I have watched since the start. I do think too much time has passed since the previous Season so I'm struggling to get into this final one. Reacher Season 3 was started - but I binned it. Not as good as the first two seasons. I may go back. What else.... Oh yea - I've just started re-watching The BlackList. I originally watched S1 and 2 many moons ago before ditching Sky. So I never watched them all. No spoilers please. Trying to get all 10 Seasons in asap. I have an urge to go back and watch all of Alias. I adore Jennifer Garner.

Watched it and wasn't impressed. Felt that despite the story line, there were a lot of gaps. It all seemed a bit unbelievable ad far fetched - even though the plot is probably happening in schools everywhere. I can see what they were trying to do but it didn't quite cut it for me. This could be because I don't generally see that sort of behaviour where I work. Maybe I'm wrong. Not sure giving it to show in Secondary Schools is a good answer either.

Rob_D Posted April 22, 2025 Posted April 22, 2025 Back-to-backed the last episode of Adolescence and the second episode of The Last of Us (season 2) last night... I think we might go for something more lighthearted tonight. 1
LeMarchand Posted April 22, 2025 Posted April 22, 2025 The Last of Us S02E02: Before the season started, I thought they'd somehow stretch things out so that it ended where this episode did. The two people I watched the episode with hadn't played the game and were somewhat shocked! Doctor Who S02E02: This series is, to me, a marked improvement on the first. 1
Fazza Posted April 22, 2025 Posted April 22, 2025 I'm currently re-watching a classic British SitCom - Brush Strokes!
ZeroHour Posted May 1, 2025 Posted May 1, 2025 Enjoying Andor season 2, I like the 3 episodes coving a arc each week. 1
Simcfc73 Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 I'm bingeing The Good Wife while at work... split screens are awesome. The Good Wife (TV Series 2009–2016) - IMDb it's addictive,
Millgate_Jon Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Just started on the new Black Mirror episodes, only seen the first couple but thought they were pretty decent, hope the rest are good too - they can be a bit hit n miss.
ICTDirect_Dave Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 We've just consumed the first series of The Pitt in a few days. It is glorious television. Exhausting to watch, but well-written, beautifully acted and full of excellent characters. The realtime nature of the series really drives home the nature of the job and I feel it works better in a series like this than it did in 24. Definitely worth a watch, though it will ruin all other medical shows for you afterward. 1 1
hallb15 Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 Whilst recovering from a hernia op, I've watched quite a lot of TV over the last couple of weeks. Dr Who (BBC iPlayer) Season 1 with Ncuti Gatwa. It's taken me this long to watch after I tried S01E01: Space Babies when it was released in 2024 and was put off. I really wanted to like this season but I found it all a bit dull. The Christmas special was better. Maybe it was the pain meds I was taking? I started season 2 and enjoyed the first couple of episodes but it hasn't left me desperately waiting for the next episode. October Faction (Netflix) I enjoyed this, although a couple of the lead characters were a bit lacklustre and I found Fred Allen's character annoying and not very believable. I was disappointed there wasn't a season 2 as it left quite a big cliffhanger at the end. From reading online about why there was no season 2 commissioned, I've put Locke and Key on my watch list. The Wheel of Time (Amazon Prime) Season 1 was interesting and definitely worth a watch although the ending was a bit of an anticlimax. Unfortunately, I found another, more enjoyable program to watch which has taken all my time... I hope to return to Season 2 and 3 at some point. Resident Alien (Netflix) I watched seasons 1 and 2 and really enjoyed the mix of sci-fi and comedy drama, particularly Alan Tudyk as the alien. His childish antics with the boy are hilarious. I'm looking forward to Season 3 which is currently on Sky but I'll have to wait for it to come to Netflix. 1 1
