Dos_Box Posted March 2 Posted March 2 The new season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. We gave it a go even though we (for some reason) thought that there wasn't much in the way of monsters in the forst season. The catch-up proved that to be wrong, and there are plenty of large, roaring things with teeth in the first episode of season 2 to keep everyone happy! 1

mavhc Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Knight of the Seven Kingdoms - There's 9 Day Of The Jackal - travelling around Europe killing innocent bystanders, and also billionaires Shogun - So many head sized boxes
LeMarchand Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Watched the first ep of the new Young Sherlock on Prime Video. Was OK, not brilliant but enjoyable enough to want to carry on watching it at least a bit more.
LeMarchand Posted March 12 Posted March 12 (edited) S02E01 of ONE PIECE (Netflix). Still a lot of fun. Edited March 12 by LeMarchand 1

Just got around to watching the first 5 episodes and yes, totally agree with your reaction regarding episode 4. Also feel like the 'hate' (for want of a better term) around the series so far has been wildly overblown. Is it the same as the first season? No, but then it needed to be slightly different anyway. And it's clear that the stories are clearly leading somewhere (some have already started linking together), so it's all 'relevant'. Some people really just aren't happy unless stuff is exactly the same/how they imagined it.
Simcfc73 Posted April 11 Posted April 11 I thought the ending was pretty good and season 3 will be interesting. With the changes to sky and the addition of HBO max I've started watching doom patrol... now that's one weird series. The boys is back which is fun.... I imagine its annoying the haters with its not so subtle digs
southhamster Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Just watched the Ipcress File on Disney. Great script and very clever with lots of 60's style.

Dos_Box Posted April 13 Posted April 13 Watched the first two episodes of the final season of The Boys the other day. I hope they keep up the momentum of these episodes, as they've turned it up to 11!

We waited until we have 14/15 before starting, but I'm now concerned we'll blitz them all before it's out! only four and a half down though so it's a race.

I always have somewhat of a question over shows who seem to abandon their entire premise to go down (seemingly) random alternative paths that seem very far fetched. Will definitely be interesting to see where they decide to go with it in S3, but I'm definitely more cautious about it than I was S2!

I do wonder sometimes if they plan this or just write the next series without knowing where to go.. kinda like star wars.

The show runners have said in interviews that they had the whole 3-season arc worked out from the start.
Roberto Posted April 14 Posted April 14 The Teacher | Channel 5 | Season 3 I dare say I’m late to the party on this but watched the whole of season 3 with my partner this weekend. We both enjoyed the story, but as we’re both former education staff (she’s a former HLTA) we had a bit of fun poking at the safeguarding failures - that school is about as safe as hogwarts and would be shut down about as quickly by an inspection!
LeMarchand Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Not sure how long it's been on there, but I've just noticed that Prime Video have all four seasons of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (it was an MGM show so they could have had it for ages). Can't find The Return of the Man from U.N.C.L.E.: The Fifteen Years Later Affair or The Girl from U.N.C.L.E., though. Started watching the first episode and was surprised both by how much I remembered from the "films" the BBC used to show and how today it would probably be considered "woke rubbish" by the usual suspects. U.N.C.L.E. is "an organisation consisting of agents of all nationalities" and the first U.N.C.L.E. agents we see are Del Floria (Italian), a Chinese receptionist and a black security guard.

Whether that turns out to be any good or not still remains to be seen. 1
