witch Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 Stumbled upon a Timeless special - thank you SKY automatic recording. Love it
unixman_again Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes which started last night on Talking Pictures. I haven't see it since the 1970s.
phreak Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 Alternatively, I think the missed a trick as I'd have love to have seen James Callis (BSG 2003: Gaius Baltar) as God. We'd already had Cylon no 6 as Goddess, to me it made sense to have the other of BSG's "Angels" playing God. Hah. Now that would be been superb ( Can still picture Tricia Helfer in that red dress.. mmm ). BSG is still one of my top 10 sci-fi tv shows of all time. I must have re-watched it at least 3 times now and it is still a great show. Just started on Season 10 of Archer. I know they are just taking the characters and throwing them into different stories/genres now but I am really enjoying it! And on the cartoon/anime note I just found out about DragonBall Super Heroes. I loved DB Super and heroes is more of the same. And straight into the fighting as well. A little lacking in the storyline... but then this is Dragonball.. people watching it for subtext/in depth story are watching the wrong show! 1
SamanthaD Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 Currently watching Skins on All 4. Never watched it first time round, appreciate it a little more now I work in Bristol and understand the city!
LeMarchand Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 Just finished Season 1 of US show "God Friended Me". Think "Highway to Heaven" meets Season One of Keifer Sutherland's "Touch". A "nice" show, but not only did the Genius Tech Billionaire not have a backup of his revolutionary "algorithm" when someone tried to wipe it, a few weeks later when the hacker succeeded there was still no backup!
CAWJames Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Fleabag, finally gave into the hype and watched the first season, enjoyed the hell out of it!
phreak Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 Krypton Season 2 just started off again. Only halfway through the first episode but so far it seems like it is up to the previous seasons standard.
DJ-1701 Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 Am I the only one that saw 'Krypton' and thought... The Krypton Factor?
ICTDirect_Dave Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Krypton Season 2 just started off again. Only halfway through the first episode but so far it seems like it is up to the previous seasons standard. Yep, cracking start. Not sure if I'm gonna like Emmett J. Scanlan as Lobo however. It looks like he might even be getting his own spinoff series! Am I the only one that saw 'Krypton' and thought... The Krypton Factor? Nope, me too. Worth training my brain to think otherwise though. 1
CHiLL Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 I watched Chernobyl over the weekend. I was dubious about all the hype, but I'm very glad I did, such a good programme. I was able to get more insight too as my boss is Polish and had to take Iodine tablets when he was young. I'm currently finishing the Arrowverse shows and then I've got a bunch of stuff lined up, like Black Mirror, Our Planet, Planets (Brian Cox) and a few more different shows stored on my Sky Q box.
ICTDirect_Dave Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Planets (Brian Cox) This is very good. I have jupiter to watch tonight.
FishCustard Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Ooooooh yes we keep forgetting about Planets. Definitely one for the list!
elsiegee40 Posted June 22, 2019 Posted June 22, 2019 (edited) Tennis: Queens on BBC iPlayer (and Amazon) live now. Simply gobsmacked by Feliciano Lopez who yesterday won his singles match and played most of a doubles with Andy Murray before the light ran out. Today he has played consecutively 1) A 3 set semi final against an 18 year old that wasn’t born when 37 yr old Lopez turned pro 2) the remainder of yesterday’s doubles match which Lopez/ Murray won meaning 3) They stayed on court have gone straight into the Doubles Semi Final where, as I type, they’ve just won the first set. Astonishing! If they win, Lopez will play both the singles and the doubles finals consecutively tomorrow. Edited June 22, 2019 by elsiegee40 1

Wife is watching it - Lopez has just won the singles in 3 sets So now he just has to play the doubles with Andy - starting shortly - I have no idea how he is still able to stand never mind play tennis 1

Compelling viewing and amazing performance from a man coming towards the end of his career. He was only playing because he had a wildcard. His ranking wasn’t high enough for an automatic place.
mavhc Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 Archer 1999, they've given up pretending it's all still a dream and are just doing whatever they want, which means it doesn't get stale.
LeMarchand Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 (edited) Just finished S2 of Cobra Kai. Lots of fun, and a surprisingly well choreographed big punch (kick?) up at the end. Didn't see that coming! (Though the "cliffhanger" was a bit obvious). Can't wait for the next season. Edited July 2, 2019 by LeMarchand
CHiLL Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 What We Do In The Shadows This is a TV adaptation of the Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi film of the same name. I loved the film and the TV has the same sort of vibe. I've been enjoying it so far, though I'm only 3 episodes in of the 10.

Look out for cameos from a couple of people who were in the film. Let me on to Year of the Rabbit as I love Matt Berry

I loved the film and the TV has the same sort of vibe. I've been enjoying it so far, though I'm only 3 episodes in of the 10. There's a surprisingly star-studded ep to come. I was just thinking "That looked like $FamousActor" when it turned out that pretty much everyone in the next scene was well known. I actually prefer it to the film - possibly the shorter length works better for me.

Let me on to Year of the Rabbit as I love Matt Berry Yeah, I have that recorded on my SkyQ box. I miss listening to Absolute Radio and hearing his little snippets they'd play during the ad breaks.
unixman_again Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 Retuned my Freeview box last night and gained the Smithsonian Channel, just in time to watch a program about the Saturn V. There are a couple of other programs about the Apollo missions in too.
CHiLL Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 I also watched Brian Cox's Planets last week. I really enjoyed it and the CGI/imagery they used was impressive and really enhanced the programme in my opinion. 1
ICTDirect_Dave Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 I watched the first episode of Russell T Davies' Years & Years on the iPlayer last night. The first episode left me breathless at the end and I can't wait to watch a little more tonight. That said, it is written cleverly to make you feel very uneasy about the world and the way things are going.

I got into Doctor Who while he was writing it and I've heard a lot of good things about it. It's a wonder I find the time to do anything else, with all the TV I'm watching! 1
