connor_ict Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Summer is officially here 1 more day then 7 weeks off! oh the perks!
FN-GM Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Last day of term, the day the internet get hammered with people streaming videos.
connor_ict Posted July 17, 2015 Author Posted July 17, 2015 Yeah, for some reason every 5 years we have an extra week off not that im complaining first year on the job and a extra week off happy days. 1
Steve21 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 We get 5 :'( Even 6 would be lovely haha... man! Jealous Steve
localzuk Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 6 weeks here. I've got at least 10 days booked off for a holiday, so it isn't too bad for me. Not got a huge amount to get done in terms of projects, but it means I'll have a good chance to get some of the annoying things that need to get done finished.
pooley Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Half day today and then 6 weeks off. Can't bloomin wait!!!
halbaradkenafin Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 I've got every Monday and Tuesday off, I don't usually have plans to go anywhere so long weekends and short weeks is great. It does make the first week or two back a pain to readjust but it's worth it.
kennysarmy Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 No rest for me - full time contract (full time pay too!) - so only likely to have around 8 or 9 days off out of the 30 possible....
andyturpie Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 First two weeks off - wee trip up to my home town of Edinburgh. Then back to the grind. 1
BKGarry Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 We are also full time 52 weeks a year. I have a new apprentice starting Monday, that I will be with for a week, then I have 2 weeks off, I have kinda forced my other techie/senior apprentice to have 2 weeks off. He is worse than I for keep on working until the job is done.
sippo Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Last day today, I'm taking my team to the pub at lunchtime. Two of us are in some of the holidays with server/wireless/projector/ICT Suite installs. Cannot wait for the staff to leave!
FN-GM Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 6 weeks the kids are off for and im on holiday for 3. Can't wait!
Dkeen94 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 We dont finish until next friday! How i am jealous of you all that are finishing today! Il be in all summer
BKGarry Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 @Dkeen94 Although you are contracted to be in the whole summer, it is really important to schedule in a break. It will truly help (says the person that until this year is guilty for never taking enough time off)
clockend25 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 It's our sports day and I've managed to rig four large speakers up down on the astro turf, so if you're wondering what that noise is, it's probably us blasting out crimes against music at ridiculous volume.
Dkeen94 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 @BKGarry Dont worry Garry i will be taking some time off! I am yet to decide when that will be but i will be relaxing for some of the holidays. Luckily there aren't any large projects planned this year so it will be a summer of catching up on odd jobs. I am just like you! I always work through the half terms and breaks to get things sorted, always results in me never having enough time off. I have promised myself that i will make full use of my Annual leave this year
BKGarry Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 I have promised myself that i will make full use of my Annual leave this year If you don't, I am getting on a train and coming to find you
Sagima Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 The kids and staff are off from 6th July til 5th September. Us IT bods are all full time though so we're in all the same.
HarryMonkey Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 52 wks here, school finishes today for 7 weeks so a nice empty school, then I've got the first week of term off to go to Somerset, so 8 weeks without any students ... Bliss.
just_david Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 just 6 more hours till the busiest time of the year starts The amount of conversation starting with "why didn't you ask for this sooner" being finished with the line "because they only just told us" would be amusing if it wasn't my manager having them. Man I'm glad I booked my time off in advance >.<
pbainbridge Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Ha..60 schools to look after so the busiest 6 weeks of the year..
