So, who's installing Windows 10 on the 29th July?

So, who here is going to take the plunge on the 29th July? I've created a poll so please let us know.

I shall be taking the plunge (bandwidth permitting) installing it here in the EuGeek ofice to my desktop machine.

I'll be sad to see the back of Start8

I will. However, I'll be buying a second SSD, copying my current install to it, and upgrading that. Lots of old games that I've coaxed into working on 7 that I don't want to lose!

I'll be putting it on a new SSD at home, and I'll probably do my work pc over the summer just to get used to it for when we do eventually do the upgrade. I'm already running 8.1 at work whereas almost all the rest of the site is on 7.

I'll be installing it on my home PC and office PC. No intention of rolling it out across site any time soon though.

I've gone 'will see how it goes' in the poll as this will be my main course of action, however I have a laptop I use for dev work that I'll upgrade straight away. The rest of my machines will wait a few months until the inevitable early bugs and security holes are fixed

They haven't confirmed/denied it yet. The only thing related is that an exec stated you would be able to get an ISO and flatten your machine, but no dates involved.

Not used Win 10 at all yet but I will be jumping right in with my home machine from 8.1!

At work: will start on an image for possible deployment. One site has plans for a new suite + laptops and makes sense to look at it as they're mainly on 7.

 

At home: will wait until I've had a good play with the release version as I'm not impressed with the preview thus far. May well leave my HTPC on 8 as the interface particularly suits, more likely to upgrade the main machine but I'm one of those who likes the Win 8 interface (can't see why it's so reviled). Also, suspect that a clean install would be best and only did that a few months back on my main machine (and still have yet to finish sorting through old files and folders).

I will be going to Windows 10 on my home desktop and laptop as soon as it comes out. We have planned to rollout Windows 10 to all users at work next summer (2016). Allows us to plan the rollout and get group policy locked down correctly etc.

Having used 10 since day one at home, I'll definately be installing it on my work laptop. I've had very little bugs and on an SSD it feels like the fastest OS I've used.

 

Not tried it on a domain yet, so as for rolling it out through our schools, it'll have to be tested with all the ancient software/staff first.

Testing it on our domain will be one of my main activities this summer, that will decide whether we go with deployment together with SSD upgrades or not.

When is Windows 10 on physical media being released? I have a Vista machine that needs to be wiped soon before I take a hammer to it!
