Best interactive TVs nowadays?
aleach2 replied to PotNoodleTech's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
We have just trailed these in a school and the feedback from staff was excellent. So much so that they have just ordered 40 of the RP screens (a mixture of 65" and 75"). After using Clevertocuh for many years, these BenQ boards are so much better from my point of view. The additional software (cloud-based) for management, notification and digital signage just add to what is already an amazing bit of kit. I would recommend these to anyone who is looking for Interactive TVs. -
I was very impressed with the BenQ offering at BETT. Not sure if they would work with Mac's (I am pretty surethey will) but I know the BenQ education team will happily visit and demo their boards. https://www.benq.eu/en-uk/business/ifp/education.html#features

Not used any of the vendors you mentioned but I have had hands-on in a sandbox environment with Nutanix and HPE dHCI. Both of these were very impressive.

VMWare for me but this is just because it is what I know. I know Hyper-V is cost-effective for Schools, especially in the state sector. I have always felt uneasy about installing a full-blown OS then a hypervisor to then run the VM's. I have always liked VMWare's cut down hypervisor to get the most performance out of the hardware but it does come at a cost in terms of licensing.

It is called "Deal Registration" or a Deal Reg in the business. It basically guarantees the first reseller who secures the Deal Reg preferential pricing with the manufacturer. This is why you should always contact your preferred partner first before going to tender otherwise another reseller from your tender list could get the deal reg. Once a deal reg is in place, it is pretty much there for 6-12 months with some manufacturers. The price percentage difference can sometimes be between 15-25%. Some resellers will take the hit and make less margin to get the business if they weren't able to secure a Deal Reg to try and will future custom. It basically is a way of the reseller to make more margin on the order or it gives them the option to pass the saving on to the customer (you) if they are being nice. Most resellers will split the saving so that the reseller gets a larger margin and the customer gets a lower price compared to the other resellers.
