Simcfc73 Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Slightly worrying. Account Manager phone line disconnected Accounts department not answering Customer services is a call centre not in this country Out sourcing????? Got lovely letter threatening legal action over an overdue bill for £13... even though we recently paid £15k to them.
network41 Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Ahh That's why I haven't had a response from my account manager (for a quote) for nearly two weeks
network41 Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Old article but possibly a sign of things to come Reseller giant Misco puts UK workers at risk of redundancy
laserblazer Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 That might be good for some of the sponsors of this site?
ICTDirect_Dave Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Account department now in Hungary:( That might be good for some of the sponsors of this site? Well I can promise you that our accounts team is strictly Lancashire. They even play nice with those Yorkshire folk
Millgate Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 They've always been a pain to get hold of though. Same as another .com I know. I'll happily do you a comparison against Misco. I'll beat their pricing, delivery, service (hopefully) PLUS I send random chocolate pizzas. Happy days! Luke
Haptic Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 They're based down the road from us, they're moving a lot of non-sales + accounts teams to Budapest. Can't say we're in danger of feeling too bad about it! Joe
Millgate Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 We keep our accounts department in the "dungeons" (downstairs) but Hungary isn't a bad idea.............
Oaktech Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Well I can promise you that our accounts team is strictly Lancashire. So the language barrier is still there then...
ICTDirect_Dave Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Oh I can practically guarantee that it's even worse! However they will offer you a cuppa 1
mrbios Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 (edited) Ah misco, always been one of those lottery style account managers that change every week type companies. They haven't been worth the hassle of dealing with for years....never EVER get the best price from them either. EDIT: LOL Classic timing, just received an advertising email from misco of all people..... Edited August 4, 2014 by mrbios
chris_uk Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 It's the same with every company, the random lottery of who your account manager is. I've got an account manager with Misco who will bend over backwards to get stuff sorted for me. The day he moves or I get an account manager change will be the day I move on from Misco!
Abaddon Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 What Chris said.. exactly that. Mine is really good, and always does the absolute best for us. If he goes, I probably go looking for another company.
ellsandell Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Oh this might explain why it took over a month form them to process our new Microsoft licensing renewal and why my emails have gone unanswered for the last month too... My account manager has been on the slide for the last 3 months, this might explain it.
timbo343 Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Insight are another one who is playing silly buggers. Havent got a clue who my account manager is. I havent heard from misco for years. We had a really decent one called matt parker but since he left, havent had anything to do with them.
Steven_Cleaver Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Really interesting I thought they were a bit hit and miss lately and possibly why we have just received a couple of Invoices for the same thing twice.
truebluesteve Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Been using misco for the last year or so and have had the same account manager who has been very good. Certainly have no complaints with the service.
Simcfc73 Posted August 4, 2014 Author Posted August 4, 2014 I was told my account manager had left the company.. shame really as she sounded nice and always looked after me. Have to see if the new one is any good. You should try phoning their account department, the voicemail message sounds like its recorded in a bathroom in 1987
mrbios Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 It's the same with every company Having dealt with alot of companies, i've never experienced it on the level that misco manages to accomplish it. They're one of a kind in that department, you're lucky if you have a good one.
free780 Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Ah yes misco. Randomly cold call when you haven't asked for a quote.
hardtailstar Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Oh this might explain why it took over a month form them to process our new Microsoft licensing renewal and why my emails have gone unanswered for the last month too... My account manager has been on the slide for the last 3 months, this might explain it. This happened to us but took about 3 months!!
davethetekkie Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Misco used to be great for random phone calls at the end of the month under at least a couple of the account managers I've corresponded with (I won't go into just how many there were in my last job - thankfully not part of my remit these days). You can always tell when they're not quite up to standard in terms of their numbers!
Heebeejeebee Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Hmmm I'm also getting worried about Misco. Our account manager is great but his hands are tied and as a result service is suffering. Looking around at alternative suppliers now. Shame really since we buy loads from them. Hey ho. I find they all go that way in the end. HBJB
speckytecky Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 As far as I know my account manager (Michael Hinchliffe) is still in place and he get's a ten out of ten from me. Never had anything other than first class service.
