I not sure if I will get more scrapping it and get the insurance and VED refunded. Its got a 121K on the clock it has the 1.25 was the 1.4 but that went bang it has a bit of a rain water leak into the drive foot well. Not sure what to do with it?
creese Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Depends on the cost of scrap. It fluctuates. I got over £200 for a small Rover. A year or so later about 100 for a Peugeot due to a large reduction.
DPrince Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Ebay is always worth a punt - I got £500 for a non-running Nissan Almera; the guy exported them into Eastern Europe for scrapping. He even let me keep the tax disk.

Also the quote you get from webuyanycar is not what they will actually offer you on the day, when you take it in the durty burglers will start taking a tenner of for every scratch or ding they can find. I doubt you'll end up with even £100 from them. Private sale or ebay would be the best way to go if you have the time. It's worth more than £100.

Davit2005 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 We buy Any Car offered me £50 pound for my old 1997 Volvo, I could of got more by scrapping it and cashing in the TAX. In the end I got £460 from ebay buyer , it was well worth it for the condition it was in.

Remember webuyanycar charge an admin fee as well, £50 on the price you have been offered so you would only get just over £100 if they didn't try and bat you down on price.

Definitely not webuyanycar or scrap - after all you can always do that later if you can't sell it, but I bet you will My son has sold all sorts of rustbuckets, non-runners and goodness knows what on both ebay and gumtree - as long as you are honest about what is wrong it will be fine

It's costing £175 of our other Senior Tech, has about 6 months MOT. I will save that in fuel costs in about 4 months. And once the MOT is out I will either Ebay it as is, MOT it and maybee keep using it till insurance time or flog it with MOT and probably get 150-200.. Rob Edited January 9, 2014 by twin--turbo

As for finding somewhere to sell it, try Facebook. twin--turbo Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Got myself a new unused bosal towbar for the above passat for £51, so the spend on it is now £226 lol... Will save that by using it instead of the Petrol Galaxy for a couple of road trips with the trailer tent. My anual trip or bi anual costs near £200 a time in fuel in the galaxy. The only thing the OP's little festa does not have going for it is the engine conversion which makes it a modified car. Rob
