  1. I'll throw this into the mix... I guestimated 8,000 miles a year on my bike when I bought it new.. so far my insurance co havent checked as it's not needed an MOT being less than 3 years old... (they never even asked on renewal)
  2. Andrew_c Its getting that way... (bit like Hells Grannies) The dragon once had a Mito come left out of a junction with out stopping but kept on the inside of her and then try muscle its way in front of her.. She was going off on one about it - All I said was .... welcome to my world.. There's a driver of a black Mito that seriously has a thing for cycles and motorbikes.. the other week he started weaving back and forth in the lane to to stop a pushbike or me past. We both passed him at the round about as we filtered between stopped traffic but you could tell he wasnt happy
  3. I worked with a guy whos license allowed him to drive tanks on the road.... (yeah he's ex military) how cool would that be to rock up to work in a tank "sorry the wife has the car and mine is in the garage, so had to come in the weekend runabout"
  4. I must remember not to check Edugeek when theres kids around - I just laughed out very lout at That would be an ecumenical matter
  5. Just about to book my theory/ HP then plan on the actual test before my CBT runs out at end of July... Cant wait.. I love the bike but...... (65 plate chinese 125 skip special - 18 headlamp bulbs until i 3d printed a bit to stop the lamps bouncing around - new swing arm (worn out) - center stand broke - 3 fuel tanks (leaking from welded seams (once was for a month onto the exhaust)) pulled twice because rear lights not working all LED when the copper got down on his knee to check properly - all 12 LEDs were working - just not very bright. - rev counter stopped working.... gear selection indicator shows whatever gear it wants when it rains.... speedo is in KPH and dubious on its accuracy (no tickets yet) exhaust rusted away. - a drive sprocket and 3 chains (I'm told the next strength of chain is off an oil tanker anchor. Having said that I've done just over 19,000km so I'm up for the test (as long as theres no alfa Mito owners on the road - they seem to have a distinct disliking to me and go out of their way to drive me off the road (4 times now by the the same 3 alfas)
  6. Just to back up those who commented on the CC of bikes with L plates.. My car lic is from 80's (very early) and have the entitlement for upto 125CC with CBT (having worn out my chinese 125 (pro tip spend the extra and go for the cheap korean bikes)..) BUT what it does mean is - because of your age/length of time held full car lic Once you pass you can go from the 125 - to a stupid sized engine (1200 +) with out blinking. I'm about to book my theory this week and hopefully the actual test before my CBT runs out end of july When I was buying the bike the sales guy (younger than the average copper looks these days to us oldies) was trying explain the regulations on the power ratings for the different license restrictions.. I stopped him and said.. I'm buying a bike not a kettle.... speak english or at least in 'old money' - I only know CC's
  7. I leave the cute turtle pic with the message - here is something to help you with going over the lines, once you master colouring in - apply it to your driving and stay between the lines.
  8. Just upgraded a couple of machines to office 2013. I'm now getting calls that when someone saves a 4 page layout newsletter - on reopening 2 of the pages are on top of each other. Page 1 ok Page 2 also has page 3 on it page 4 ok Anyone else had this.??
  9. New ICT coordinator here - so might be in with a shot..

No 10 day waiting period on a garden spade..... (yet) - - - Updated - - - Er... isnt the daily mail a spoof paper anyway!
  12. Interesting as we've been experiencing issues with our homehub 3 - but the dragon thought it was due to an update on her phone.. but then we only have a couple of wireless devices attached the rest are wired.
  13. I think there has to be a cause for concern on the gravel traps.. they just didnt seem to be doing their jobs.. all of the cars that went off over the weekend just seemed to be skimming over them - I actually commented to the other half that the traps didnt seem to be working as the Sauber went off. If they had been more 'grabby' then maybe Bianchi wouldnt have gone into the JCB
  14. Get a proper fridge.. a lot of the "portable" fridges /cool boxes only work on a couple of degrees below ambient temp. We had one at a school i worked in last year and worked better when I suggested sticking it in the server room which was super cooled.
  15. Anyone got the TTS easy walker pedometers.. We got 2 sets charged them up and all they do is sit with a flashing triangle in the display.. Oh and the software crashes - I dont think it likes 64bit win 7 - I'll have to build a box with 32bit to see if it works on that ok. I've emailed them but no reply as yet but it has been 3/4 days so I suppose there's time
  16. Whats wrong with the logo they've got already.. it was what I was thinking of before I looked at the site
  17. The all consuming minecraft.. we bought this for dragon jnr's birthday.... she's not had a look in as yet.. (i'll neither confirm or deny it being my fault she hasn't played it yet)
  18. Interesting.. BBC News - Microsoft unveils Windows 10 system with Start Menu
  19. Had to find it on interwebs to post here - but I have this - big
  20. Got my ol' dj lappy hooked up to my ol' PA gear and it's on random- no speakers on a desk here - its desk on speakers and the Amp is barely on 1 (just had Marvin Gaye into Lady GAGA)
  21. You must have been talking to my kids... Anyway - I've found a training school that told me what all the kw stuff was - in cc's and bhp - without me asking - guess they thought I'd be an 'old school' sort of guy.. I'm happy now and will be booking my lessons with them.
  22. Ok Call me old fashioned
  23. DaveP Can I has a copy of the rules you have under the wreath (which was brilliant btw.. I'm quite sure it would be too geeky for here but...)
  24. I sort of broached the subject of learning to ride a bike with the dragon a couple of weeks ago - and was shocked with the response... She ALSO wants to learn!! "Oh cool we can learn together.." (might add it turns out that we had the same driving instructor - many many moons ago - which was scary enough) It's all the "if you passed your test before (insert date last century) and are older than (insert something around 50) can hold your breath for 2 hours while stood on yer head and juggling two 33kw elephants" that just makes me think naff it - i'll walk. And what the heck is that all about .... kw... this had to be the work of some overpaid eurocrat with little else to do - when I was young bike engines were measured in CC's - but try telling the youth of today that!! I just want someone to say if you are (around) 50 passed yer driving test in the (19)80's - you need to do this... I emailed a training center and they emailed back the link to the dotgov page with all of that guff on - I'd already read it and decided I "so-called" professional help - fat lot of good they were...
  25. that they aren't invited to.... There seems to be a party going on in nearly every classroom.. And I swear the walls are shaking due to the speakers being at full volume..
