It doesn't know your location, it bases it on the registered location of the IP Address.

From 2 load-balanced ADSL2+ lines. (we have a 3rd ADSL2+ line that is just our server connection to the internet for downloading updates etc.)

I had sittinbourbne as my reccomended server and with my 100mb link managed

 

436.01mb/s

40.72mb/s

hmmmm curious now...

 

There were rumblings of the connection to YHGfL being upgraded to 100MB but it was never really made clear how this was going to work:

 

a) each school would have 100MB connection

 

or

 

b) the overall connection for schools would be 100MB with each school taking a small cut of the bandwidth.

 

There's probably the letter from North Lincs buried somewhere in the remains of my filing (unless you've thrown it all out) but I would assume that the upgrade has actually happened.
