Hi, Once again im hoping someone may be able to help we are going to be rolling windows 7 out across college, but i am finding that my student users are unable to change the resolution of their desktop display. The drivers for the nic are installed and other users are fine it is just the students. Looking at the user group policies there should be nothing there causing it. Any help to solve this will be appreciated. phil

Just set myself up a Sony STRDH510 Black from Richer (was reduced as eol) superb system has hdmi and optical inputs only issue i have is getting video from the composites on the amp. Using some Yamaha speakers that i also got from Richer 12 mths ago, if you can find them cheaper online they will price match.

Hi, I get to the litetouch deployment on my pc after adding ip helper to the switch, but before it can add in the list of images i have available i get the following message popup A connection to the deployment share (\\server\deployshare$) could not be made. The deployment will not proceed. Can not reach DeployRoot.Possible cause: Network routing error or Network Configuration error. I have edited my bootstrap.ini file to contain teh servers ip but after updating the image the server name is still there. i can connect via the cmd prompt to teh share from the pc and pc's that are on the same vlan as the server do not have this issue. Any help to solve this will be appreciated.

New year new headaches, Can any one help me - my management has asked that we set everyone up so that they have the same default templates with new emails. we need to set the font and size as well as stopping people change the backgrounds. i have tried google etc without much luck so thought id ask on here if anybody is doing it and how. Are these blips always during the day at certain times?, what you can do is run the mutiny software from Mutiny - Welcome, This is free for education users and gathers the snmp information from switches and servers. i have seen a demo and it looks good and i hope to get it running on my network, as normal the advanced stuff will cost extra but it should give you a few clues. Hi, I have created a windows 7 image that works on a dell pc but when i attempt to run the image on a HP pc the system attempts to login as domain/administrator to finish off the install. At no point in the cs or unattend.xml is there any mention of this user. If anybody who has the image working with MDT would be willing to give me any help or advice i will appreciate it. Cant find any mention of the sysprep.inf file but i tried having the set line in identification in unattend.xml and then tried it without that line being there with no joy. At no point either did it mention the account that the pc is attempting to login with.

Hi, I have a windows 7 image on my system deployed via litetouch and MDT, it works fine on some pc's but on others it installs but then after the 1st proper reboot it comes up as trying to login and its relevant failure. The account it is trying to use is domain\administrator which doesnt exist and has not been set during the install process, Can anyone spread some light on where this may be coming from so i can set things to get the install working correctly. Hi Guys, I would like some feedback especially from existing users of Softlinks library software Liberty. We have the software installed on our systems and are having an issue with users accessing it remotely. We have found when people attempt to access the system via our IAG portal they get refused access by a 401 error message it seems this message occurs when users acess it internally as well but we can get round this via a gpo has anybody else had this issue externally and were able to get round it? We are using Kaspersky here at the college and it will definately be off our systems by March next year if not sooner. Since we have had it in it has caused no end of issues and we wont miss it.

Gerard, Do you use Active Directory? i have a adm line added in that points to the license servers - if its any help - we just gave up and visited every pc for a manual install and point them at a license server- I cant wait until this summer as i am sure there will be a 2011 version and requests for it

I have a mix here with some dc's running on virtual machines (1 hyper-v and 1 vmware) and on 1 site the virtual machines are running on a DC, the only things i reccomend is if you have an 2k3 virtual machines in the boot .ini add the following /usepmtimer this is to stop any timing issues that arise. Reducing costs with backupexec is intresting concept especially as the virtual agent is not cheap but will backup multiple servers locally as well. - As you are on a dc dont forget to also include the AD client as well for backupexec. good luck
