garethEds Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 We have 1 XP machine left. It would get binned if we could get drivers for our laser cutter. GJE
MatthewL Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Where I was till a few weeks ago had best part of 4000 on XP!!
FN-GM Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 1 left, for a copier, will be replaced very soon. My last place are removing XP machines at a rate of 1,000 per week.
E_G_R2 Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 90% of current machines but I am creating new Windows 7 this holiday for deployment soon.
dobsonl Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I'm not counting.... theres too many for my liking although they are getting upgraded slowly to windows 7
mac_shinobi Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 We have 1 XP machine left. It would get binned if we could get drivers for our laser cutter. GJE Windows 7 with XP Mode ( least that's what I think it's called ) ??
MordyT Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 4 that I am aware of. 25 of windows 7. Small budget means only old hardware and old licenses. No plans to up the 4 xps to win7 and forget about 8.
Guest Guest Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I've got one XP machine, it runs the library management system and I never touch it. I've also got one Server 2003 virtual machine, not got any plans to retire that because it's got some crazy software running on it.
GrumbleDook Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 My last home machine running it died the week before last (it was in work helping my wiped Cisco routers) and won't be replaced. If I really need it at some point I'll stick it on one of the old Mac minis instead.
Chris_ Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 We have 1 XP machine left. It would get binned if we could get drivers for our laser cutter. GJE Same here. 1 XP machine left for our laser cutter.
mrbios Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 None. At least when it comes to fixed desktops... Still some staff laptops that never come back to see us that are on XP though.
truebluesteve Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 A library PC that runs some software but that will go soon, plus another in the IT office that runs a bespoke piece of software that we use to take photos and import them into SIMS and print ID cards. Mind you that software has just stopped working for some reason :-/
truebluesteve Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Oh yes and the laser cutter machine which isn't even on the network!
clockend25 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Ironically, our laser cutter machine is one of those already moved over to Windows 7.
Meldrew Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 We have 1 XP machine left. It would get binned if we could get drivers for our laser cutter. GJE Same here, except its a missing machine, I'm sure we'll fix the niggle stopping it working in 7 at some point. Meldrew
Chris_ Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Same here. 1 XP machine left for our laser cutter. I take this comment back. Just tried the laser cutter on a Windows 7 machine and it works like a dream! Hooray, no XP machines!!
fairm010 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 About 80. Within an hour when this WDS session finishes, none! Matt
HarryMonkey Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Out of 850 machines, we probably have around 750 XP. It is hoped that these will all be upraded over the summer.
Cache Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 7 Desktops + all the laptops I'm likely never to see again.
Zoom7000 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 About 700! But we're moving to Windows 7 on CC4 in the Summer.
