Hello all, Our partner, Palo Alto Networks are running a webinar on the 24th May at 15.30 looking at 'Solving the challenges of SLL decryption in Education'. This should be a really engaging session with two good presenters. Register here. Webinar content is below: Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) (and its successor Transport Layer Security (TLS)) is an encryption protocol that is designed to protect the privacy and security of sensitive communications across a network, such as the Internet. The use of SSL encryption is rapidly increasing. In 2017, approximately 50% of web traffic was secured by the protocol and this is expected to rise to 80% by 2019 according to Gartner. Currently, most major websites including Google, Facebook and Wikipedia, enforce encryption and are using SSL across their sites (HTTPS sites). Join Jamie Jennrich, Regional Manager for Education and Jon Wood, Systems Engineer at Palo Alto Networks for an exclusive Cybersecurity Webinar ‘Solving the challenges of SSL decryption in Education’ on May 24th at 3.30 p.m. (BST) During this event they will discuss the difficult tension in education today between allowing students and staff easy and open access to information while ensuring their working environment is secure and safe, protected from growing cyber threats. Attend this webinar to understand: - SSL, its benefits and growth - Challenges of encryption in Education - How Palo Alto Networks can provide visibility and control across encrypted SSL channels Register here.

Webinar: Smarter Schools, Safer Students: Detect Vaping with Verkada's All-in-One Sensors Following the announcement of the extended Verkada Vape Sensor pricing promotion we will be running another vape focussed webinar with Verkada on the 27th September at 2PM. We will look at how Verkada’s hybrid-cloud CCTV and air quality sensors help to detect, prevent and manage vaping in schools. Join this live webinar as we will highlight TWO new alert features, that you may have not previously been aware of, which are now available to ALL current and prospective customers! These features use a combination of cross-product camera and sensor features that integrate people analytics capabilities with Verkada sensor alerts to simplify investigations. 1) People Detections: See a simplified list of all people detected before, during, and after a sensor alert. 2) People Activity Overlay: The sensor graph will now display an area chart indicating people activity detected by the camera We will also be looking more generally at the Verkada vape prevention solution and how they’re being used in schools and colleges. This will be worth listening to if vape prevention and reporting has been mentioned to you, or if you’re considering purchasing a solution within the next school year. If you can't attend the live session but are interested in the topic - please register and I will ensure a link to the recording is sent out. We hope you can join us. Hello, On Wednesday the 20th February at 16:30 we're running a webinar with Palo Alto Networks looking at malware versus exploits that I thought could be of interest to some of you. The session is being run by a Palo engineer who specialises in the EDU sector. He ran a few demos during BETT and we had some great feedback from these sessions. In this webinar we will cover the following: Malware and Exploits explained Why attacks are using both in conjunction with each other How to protect your network See an Exploit in action and its capabilities Exploit Kits and Zero Days You can register here. If the time/date doesnt work, if you register to attend you will be sent a recording of the session. Marketing introduction to the webinar: Today’s threat landscape has evolved to the point where it is no longer feasible to protect devices against Malware alone. It is now necessary to consider the methods used to attack devices in addition to the attack itself. The increase in Exploit-based and fileless attacks alongside rising Zero-Day incidents, means that conventional Anti-Virus is no longer enough to effectively protect against sophisticated attacks. Join Palo Alto Networks for a discussion and demonstration on the differences between Malware and Exploits. You can register here.

Net-Ctrl partners with Fastvue to help schools and colleges meet KCSiE guidelines. In addition, FastVue integrates into leading firewalls in Education (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Sophos, Barracuda, SonicWall). With the increasing risk of exposure to online extremism, cyber-bullying, and the new crime of cyberflashing among young people, the onus for educators to know what their students are doing online is now enshrined in the latest OFSTED requirements. Since last September, UK Schools have been obligated under the Department for Education's Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) guidelines to be able to report on every child's online activity. There are many safeguarding tools out there that help schools meet this requirement, but the quickest, simplest, most secure and cost-effective one is Fastvue. Used by over 600 schools already, Fastvue provides detailed, real-time reporting and alerting for every device and every user connected to the school network, every time they connect to your network. Agenda FastVue Introduction The regulations - what's changed? What does this mean for educators? How to meet the specific needs of KCSiE with Fastvue? Q&A Sign-up here. All registrations will be sent a copy of the recording post-session.

Hello everyone, On Tuesday 19th March at 2PM we are co-hosting a webinar with Verkada as we discuss how you can curb vaping by utilising Verkada's hybrid cloud sensors. The vaping challenge is schools shows no signs of slowing. It is reported that 1 in 5 teenagers have tried vaping - an increase of ⅓ over a year ago. With proposed tax increases and vape bans being introduced this is hopefully going to help slow the accessibility of such items but the likelihood is companies producing vapes will re-work their products around proposed bans, and/or, still find a way into students hands. In this session, we will look at: The state of vaping today Introduction to the Verkada platform How Verkada can help curb vaping The journey after detection Product demo Q+A to close This is some updated content and I think it's going to be a really informative session. All registrations will be sent a recording post-event, so even if you can't attend the live session, please register for access to the recording. All attendees will be sent a Verkada YETI mug after the event as a small thank you for joining the session. We can also arrange for some free trial equipment sent out so you can test the solution in your own environment. If this is of interest, or something you have been asked about, you can register for this session here: https://www.net-ctrl.com/curb-vaping-with-verkada
