Another popular frog post We have just paid for it and awaiting the ISA software to turn up to do the final prep before the Design of frog starts. Just wondering what other schools have created so far in Frog? We have a few staff asking about online Detention forms, behavior records (similar to our databases). The beviour record is also used to report CET calls (SMT) which then sends an email to the relevant Key Stage Team. We IT peeps are after creating our Help Centre on there as well, this is currently on sharepoint 3.0 - free Having looked around so far it does all seem possible but just wondering what other places have created so far. If so do you offer them free or cost? Our Frog is going to be heavily used and we do plan on so much being put on there, we understand there may be limitations. I my self have a huge list of stuff I want to go on there and all my spare* time I will be developing Frog. I do have a ton of other things to do though.

The school wants to set up a partnership with our feeder primary schools and I was hoping tthat someone had already gone down this route successfully. The starting point was creating them each a site on our VLE but every time we asked our IT provider they said we would need a Sharepoint Internet licence because they were not in our Active Directory - these cost £10K. Clearly this is beyond the finances of any primary so the cost would fall on us - unless some sponsor could be found. I also pointed out that this would only give them access to anything that was on their site, I think they were labouring under the idea that this would allow them access to their school account through our network. The school has reserved a URL for the partnership but I have said that this would require someone to monitor and moderate the site and there would be problems with who was allowed to change and upload content on such an open platform as the Internet. My experience of 'extranets' is very limited but is anything I have said wrong or am I making something more complicated than it needs be? The success of this would accrue countless smartie points but I'm not counting them just yet.

Well I guess that it was only a matter of time… But fresh into the Google Marketplace is Grockit… In brief Grockit is a social platform for learning that provides students with collaborative real-time study rooms. There is content but this is aligned to US K-12 curriculum and college entrance exams. Students with Google Apps can sign on to Grockit through their Google account to instantly join live online study groups with Grockit’s global community of students and expert instructors. Students’ Google Calendars will be synced with their Grockit study session schedule. Additionally, important documents will be automatically downloaded into their Google Docs. Happy new year everyone, hope we had a great Xmas and break. For those who got one! Right, FROG, this is something we have been highly interested and have looked around and really does seem the best option. We looked at Moodle but in all honesty none of us have that kind of time and talent. For those who are using frog can you tell me, what you use it for, how well it does it and are you happy with the product and support. Also have you created any new *widgets or apps for it etc and again what are they? If there are any flaws again please say, we have a Gov meeting soon in about 2-3 weeks not long after BETT and we have seen the demo, used the demo and very impressed. So apart of this Gov meeting we are hoping to know as much as possible to persuade them to go for it. Personally I think FROG is something special and the ideas of it all is simply moodle style where "anything" can be done but with less know how. Any opinions on FROG is fine, ideas, so simply anything! Thank you

Hi, We are considering going with Webanywhere to provide a supported and custom designed Moodle platform with SIMS integration. Has anybody had any dealings with WA? We would like to gather some impartial and honest references before going any further. Thanks in advance!

Hi All, I have set up moodle at our school and would like to know how i can allow staff to freely move around the courses and edit them without having to be enrolled on them.( Less administration) Can this be done through our LDAP e.g staff group get assigned a role. Also our students are being given the student role however they are unable to enroll in any of the courses. "You can not enrol yourself in this course." Any idea? Thanks
