Hello, Is anybody else having issues with Impero 3 that means that the program is appearing to be altering the proxy settings for the local system account, which means that applications, such as Symantec EndPoint Protection aren't able to access our Internal Symantec Server to be able to download updates? Symantec works perfectly fine on every other machine with Impero 3 (Impero 2 was fine). What we've done is used the PSExec Tool (from SysInternals) to run Internet Explorer under the local system account and unticked use Proxy. I've noticed though on a few machines that it appears to have reverted the proxy server settings again breaking Symantec updates. Thanks, Rob

I was just wondering if someone could explain how to get the client EP Deployment from an unmanaged state to a managed state so that we can remote push sets out from the sccm and issue full scans out for virus checking Thanks Nathan

Hi All, I'm struggling to find best practice on the creation and or grouping of Intune Configuration profiles for users and devices. How do you group your Intune Configuration profiles/settings? Do you have as many settings for the device and users in a device applied policy, or do you only put device settings in a device policy and users settings in a user policy? Also, do you group as many settings as you can into 1 policy, or do you split them out into a single setting per policy and then group them? I'm wondering if there's a performance decrease/increase in doing this or not. Kind regards, Phil

Title pretty much says it all. I have increasing number of iPads at one of my schools that the apps seem to stop updating and then show as Waiting or Loading. They have internet connectivity. There are sufficient VPP licences available for each of the apps. I've tried a different network i.e. home Wi-Fi network to rule out any strict firewall rules. The only way it seems to fix the issue is to Wipe the device, delete it from Endpoint Manager / Intune and re-enrol. At this stage it could be at least a dozen devices and I have no evidence yet to suggest the same thing wont happen again to the wiped devices. Any thoughts or ideas ladies and gents? Thanks in advance

Hello, On Wednesday the 20th February at 16:30 we're running a webinar with Palo Alto Networks looking at malware versus exploits that I thought could be of interest to some of you. The session is being run by a Palo engineer who specialises in the EDU sector. He ran a few demos during BETT and we had some great feedback from these sessions. In this webinar we will cover the following: Malware and Exploits explained Why attacks are using both in conjunction with each other How to protect your network See an Exploit in action and its capabilities Exploit Kits and Zero Days You can register here. If the time/date doesnt work, if you register to attend you will be sent a recording of the session. Marketing introduction to the webinar: Today’s threat landscape has evolved to the point where it is no longer feasible to protect devices against Malware alone. It is now necessary to consider the methods used to attack devices in addition to the attack itself. The increase in Exploit-based and fileless attacks alongside rising Zero-Day incidents, means that conventional Anti-Virus is no longer enough to effectively protect against sophisticated attacks. Join Palo Alto Networks for a discussion and demonstration on the differences between Malware and Exploits. You can register here.

Hi all, I have a physical file server with about 2TB of users data on it. Acronis Backup & Recovery is running incremental backups every night.... but it's awful and keeps letting me down again and again so it has to go. This is my last physical server and realistically can't VM it before Easter. In the meantime I'm thinking of Veeam Endpoint Backup on it backing up to a Veeam B&R repository in full fat Veeam. Now, to keep the backup size/time down I've split my Acronis backups into several separate jobs e.g. Pupils data, Desktops, My Docs etc etc. I can't see how staring at it, but can you set up multiple file level backup jobs in Endpoint? It looks to me that you can only have one job configured at any time full stop. Anyone know different ? Cheers in advance EDIT: Or in Veeam B&R can Endpoint be used as an agent for triggering backups. Would be a great feature if so.

Hi all, Just a heads up on this one... Over the Easter break one of our technicians updated the Symantec Enpoint client software on a server running DHCP. Today we came in with clients unable to connect left right and centre! After much fiddling and troubleshooting we tracked the issue down to Endpoint. Disabling the client and restarting DHCP enabled clients to get an address again! I thought I'd post this incase anyone has similar issues. It might save you 3hours investigating other things if you try this first!

Hello all, Hoping someone can help. My colleague and I have installed SCCM from scratch. The system seems to generally be working ok. We are following MS guidance to configure Endpoint Protection as the first thing we want to do is get Defender managed on all the existing clients. We have created an automatic deployment rule to target a custom device collection called 'Win 10 Clients' We have download definition updates but how do we push these updates to our collection? Do we need to create a software update group and if so, is this a one time thing? Definitions are downloaded every day (as we have specified this) but of co-course, we don't want to be doing a manual process every day of the week. I have attached some screenshots which might help explain. Any help would very much appreciated as we are SCCM novices! Many Thanks
