  1. In our case it's the remaining machies we had on 1909(about 8 of them) and it's completely random. A teacher could be fine period 1, but period 2 another teacher comes along and Office wants them to sign in, then rejects it and deactivates(we have 365 version deployed & it updates automatically). The only thing in common these machines have is that they're 1909. I checked the Azure AD status and they're reporting normally.
  2. We're having the same thing this morning. Staff randomly not being signed into Office(and this coming up as inlicensed), with Outlook & Teams not working properly.
  3. As far as I understand it Azure Application Proxy is only compatible with the web client rather than the desktop client. You can still get remote desktop to use MFA without the application proxy, Microsoft have a guide here on how to configure it. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/authentication/howto-mfa-nps-extension-rdg
  4. No they're different things with similar sounding names. https://www.arubanetworks.com/en-gb/products/instant/
  5. I can happily recommend Aruba instant access points. We've got the IAP-315 and they've been solid as a rock. As others have said other than firmware updates, they're set and forget.
  6. This is now our next step, now that we know they're actually working and not completely dead we're going to look for someone to check them.
  7. Thats what we're going to find out today, am going to trace the cables through the floor & see where they go.
  8. Yes, the inverters took a few minutes to properly come on and start running. Today were going to take some readings and see how much power they generate,
  9. it's quite funny really, having never worked with solar panels before, we assumed it was a deeper problem....
  10. Update on this. Went up to the roof with the site officer again to check the basics and traced the cables from the inverters to the panels. Turns out that at some point the panels been completely disconnected from the inverter. So we hooked them back up and within a few minutes the inverters sprang back to life, just need to sort things out with our energy provider!
  11. No I don't backup OneDrive, just our SharePoint site. They set in the Compliance manager under information goverernance.
  12. We have retention policies configured that mirror how long we'd keep on site backups for. Yes it's not technically a proper backup in the event of catastrophic Office 365 failure, but it covers against users accidentally deleting their files. For our SharePoint site I do back that up to our Synology NAS as I had a case of an accidentally deleted folder that contained literally tens of thousands of files. It was a nightmare to restore through the SharePoint recycle bin, even a script took 7 days to get it all back. So since then I run an overnight backup with the Synology Office 365 backup add on.
  13. Thanks both, I'll have a word with the site officer. As far as he's aware they've never worked since we moved into our current building(2012 or so).
  14. Morning All, Does anyone here have any solar panel knowledge? My current school has a bank of solar panels installed on the roof, hooked up to two Sunny Boy 2500 inverters along with a metre next to them. However the whole system is 'off', both the inverter units are off and we don't know how to get them live & working. I've had a look with our site officer and from our perspective everything is cabled up, but they just don't work. Does anyone have any suggestions? Business Director is very very keen not to have to pay to get external people in to look at them. Apoligies if I've put them in the wrong forum.
  15. I've got an eye on it, but not taken the plundge yet. Last time I was bitten by a bug which made our LTO autoloader drive stop working for about 4 months.
  16. Do they have any kind of SSL decryption configured. I'm always adding exceptions to our SSL decryption policy where it breaks part of a website.
  17. Sorted it! Where it's an oldish BMS it hadn't got a default gateway set, it never needed one before now. After setting that everything is now working.
  18. Hi All, We've got a fustrating problem while connecting our BMS to the network. I've created a new vlan(90) and assigned the IP(192.168.1.1 BMS controllers are preprogrammed with this range) to the vlan. I can ping the BMS controller(192.168.1.15) from the core switch, but not if I use another vlan as the source address. For testing purposes I removed any ACL's and still couldn't ping. On a show IP route on the core it confirms that the 192.168.1.0 network is there, but I can't ping the controller from a computer on a different vlan. Does anyone have any suggestions? At this point vlan 90 has no ACL's applied to it, our desktop pc's vlan has permit IP and permit ICMP statements to cover traffic going to vlan 90.
  19. Not sure if it helps, but we're running it as a task sequence instead if thats something you want to try. All it needs is the extracted ISO file. It's the 'Upgrade an operating system from an upgrade package' option and then point it at the iso you extracted plus any extra steps you want, but thats mostly it. This is how I've been running the Windows 10 upgrades and it usually works everytime(some exceptions where it fails then wants manually starting in software centre).
  20. We're a Kyocera school as well. Two TaskAlpha 8002i's and one 6052ci. Both of the mono copiers are fairly reliable with adequate print quality for a black & white copier. Not to happy with the 6052ci though, print quality is quite poor. Colours can be almost completely different when printed to how you have it on screen. Support has been ok ish, engineers are almost never here same day and spare parts can sometimes take a few days to arrive,
  21. Exactly this. All students have accounts and must use it to access the meeting. Teachers are told to reject all guest admissions from the lobby unless they have an external speaker planned.
  22. We've had reports about students not being able to open Teams or join meetings. But as of now there's noting showing on our Office 365 service health page.
  23. Guest users should still go into the lobby before being admitted. We tell staff that unless they're expecting a guest user(like an external speaker or something) then always decline then block entry.
  24. Year 13 are in(we're a Sixth form) for mock exams. Originally teachers were invigilating, however the government announcement of the delayed start made SLT decide to get support staff to invigilate instead with teachers kept at home.
  25. Just had a lovely email sent round by SLT. w/c 4th January all teachers are required to stay at home and teach there, however all support staff must be on site no exceptions.
