    The Microsoft support agent said he ran some diagnostics which found an issue. It's only been a day but no one else has reported the problem yet.

    Morning All, Has anyone had any problems getting into Office 365 for the past week or so. I've had reports from teachers of going to outlook.office365.com getting stuck in a redirect loop which eventually errors. I've had it myself just once and it stopped me getting to any Office 365 page. It doesn't seem limited to a specific browser as it's happened on Edge, Chrome and Safari.

    Hi All, Our contract with BT is up for renewal this year and as per procurement processes I need to get three quotes and am considering LGFL. Currently have a 500Mbps line on a 1Gbps bearer. I just have a question on Webscreen. How does it work with BYOD devices? Currently when users connect to our BYOD SSID, Radius(NPS) passes this into our Firewall. So I'd be very keen to replicate this setup with no users having to complete login pages before they have internet access. As far as I understand it domain devices aren't a problem, just use group policy to run a application on login/out. Secondly is there still the requirement to readdress your network, or has this been phased out now? Thanks, Chris

    Mainly approving this months updates for servers & computers, plus some firmware updates on access points & switch stacks. Finally upgrading the remote desktop gateway from 2012 R2 to 2019.

    It’s the VM-300, including the 3 year subscription for the various things like filtering & wildfire it was £7K. Our subscription is up in May & I’ve heard similarly good things about the new PA-400 model. Will be quoting for it nearer the time.

    We're not an LGFL school, but I'm a very big fan of Palo Alto. We have one of their firewalls currently(it also does the webfiltering), works perfectly and have had no problems with it.

    I wouldn't say we get a large amount of emails, usually get a dozen or so whenever they're told that reports are available. We don't offer phone support though, email only.

    Same here, our site manager has a building master key and full access. He mainly uses it to acccess the CCTV unit, otherwise he calls me if it's for anything IT related.

    I suspect you'll need to do some work on your core switch. The Router Advertisment needs to be changed to indicate that hosts can be DHCPv6, in our case with Aruba it's 'ipv6 nd ra managed-config-flag' on a per vlan basis. You'll then need a helpder address configured pointing to your DHCP server.

    Just been round the IT Room with our exams assistant helping her download the tests in advance of tomorrow's session. Fingers crossed it a bit smoother.

    We had downloaded the tests on Monday afternoon, but even so the client still hung for a few minutes once the keycode was entered.

    Mine all went well with 2012 R2 to 2019 except for the remote desktop gateway. All other servers it worked perfectly.

    Anyone having problems with ParentPay today? I'm trying to upload some new staff and the uploads keep failing. I've contacted their support but am not holding out for a quick response.

    In our case thats the trade off that we make and as a result don't do SSL Decryption on our BYOD network. It's bad enough getting Android users to install the CA certificate to connect.

    I think it depends on the school and what you want students to use their devices for. We're a sixth form and students are free to bring any device they like and connected to our BYOD SSID, they get the usual web filtering and can access selected internal services such as Papercut mobility print and Planet eStream. Otherwise they just have internet access. Use of devices in lessons varies by subject, for example our History department are huge OneNote fans and students use laptops for every lesson.

    In our case for certain Android device we have them install our CA certificate on their device as a 'wifi' certificate. They can then select it from the CA certificate dropdown box and they're then able to connect, I think I do have them put something in the validation box though.

    Just had a notification for this: Title: Issues with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for on-premises users User Impact: On-premises users may be unable to access Microsoft 365 services due to being unable to log in through MFA. Current status: We've identified 503 errors from specific processing components and we're reviewing these errors to identify the source. Scope of impact: This issue could potentially affect any user if they leverage MFA and either Network Policy Server (NPS) or Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) to access Microsoft 365 services. This issue only affect on-premises users, and cloud hosted users are not affected. Next update by: Tuesday, September 28, 2021, 5:30 PM (4:30 PM UTC) Just a headsup in case anyone is impacted.

    I can vouch for Aruba, although we're a much smaller school. Very reliable, almost set & forget. We use guest AD accounts for guest wifi access. The AP's have built in Palo Alto integration so info gets sent straight to it for user-ID purposes. Only thing currently is supply chain problems, if you're after Aruba AP's now then you may be in for a long wait.

    HI All, Hoping someone can help here. Finally put in the new Aruba CX 6200's yesterday and mostly everything is working(ignoring a painful hour where I didn't realise LACP is disabled by default on these). Only problem is getting the switches management interface to work so that it's accessible via web & SSH. I've assigned an IP Address to the management interface but can't connect. I use vlan 100 for AP, Switch management and on the old switches vlan 100 was assigned an IP and that's that. However it's very different on the AOS-CX software so I think I'm getting confused somewhere.
