Nothing wrong with these older printers, last of the well built kit and will keep going strong. That must be getting on 20 years old as I remember them in the new IT suite we had when I was at school back in 2000. Really low volume will at 68k on that. I had a LaserJet 4 which was 20 years old then and my colleague now has it so must be knocking on 30 years, only got a 10Mb network port but solid reliable (and massive) device.

UAP-AC-PRO I am looking at using. Fair play will tkae a gander at them.

Powering the switch isn't an issue, just need one that will do the job. On looking back it's going to have to be 8 ports due to what needs to be plugged in, with an odd port spare for future expansion. Would the Netgear one above power my Unifi without an issues, I see all these different PoE standards and I'm a bit lost with it now.

I need 5 port minimum, 2 POE ports for Unifi AP's switch, any recommendations? Needs to be managed if cost isn't through the roof, rack mount if possible or I can buy a shelf for use at home. Seen a Ubiquiti one or the NETGEAR GS110TP (presume POE compatiable with the AP's). Cheers

I have always been told to just set to 127.0.0.1 and noting else.

The Olivetti is a Konica basically. Out of the two I would go Xerox, notice the Xerox monthly volume is 50k. Just something to bear in mind. Personally I would use Sharp but that is my preference.

On the subject of your NC10's have you found anything that is useable on them yet?

I know some German companies were doing something towards this and I seem to recall it was with Blackberry's but personally I think its not a technical issue but more of a management as discussed. I don't have work email on my phone and even my personal email I use the peak hours to only get round not having my phone constantly delivering mail to me. I'm guilty of sending emails out of hours but never expect a response that evening,, its my choice to work not everyone else. Just got to think back what would you do before email or even before access to email was available when out of the office/away from your desk. If anything is so important someone can pick up the phone and call me and have a conversation. Everyone is so reliant on tech/email these days they forget what its like to talk to someone properly.

Might be a bit further on with this, it would appear its to do with DisplayPort and with the monitor been powered off the computer see's it as disconnected. It seems to be a common bug/pain in the back side for many with 3rd party utilities to restore window layouts. On the Dell Display manager you can save your current layout and tick auto restore so once powered on it moves the apps back over. Problem only appears to be with DP port connected monitors which is a pain but one to watch for. I've tweaked my setup so will see how I get on but its been driving me mad!

Just migrated fully to Windows 10 as my main system and got a slight bug that is puzzling me. I run a dual screen setup screen 1 is my main setup screen 2 is for email and a few other apps. On Windows 7 once the apps were opened on that screen they would stay there and always open on that screen but now they don't. My current monitors are Dell ones with USB hubs and are connected via DP, if I turn my monitor off when logged in everything transferred from screen 2 to 1 and visa versa, previously I was connected via HDMI/DVI so presume this must be the reason. Is there any way to fix this as I am getting bored of dragging everything every time I come back to PC and starting up. I'm presuming its to do with the DP connected and guessing it would be fine on HDMI/DVI type connections. New one to me and not experienced it but then not used many dual monitor setups for a period of time with 10 on them.

Have you searched the hardware ID and found a driver online that way?

If you want tracking, TomTom vehicle telematics is what I would use.

Been sent this picture form this incident, it is what was left of a 13.5m ladder which is normally used to reach the 4th or 5th floor of a building, to the left in front of the pile of red hose is the remained of the heel bar the bit at the bottom of the one pictured with the windy handles! They were forced to evacuate the area due to the fire and this was left when they returned!! Never have I seen a ladder destroyed like that in an incident so gives you some idea of the severity of it.

As above, if not can you reset the projector and then I would go for cables.

No doubt questions will be asked, I had seem something that they had sprinklers/suppression system install but something has gone wrong massively to end up where it has. If said system was in and working correctly that should of been dealt with within an hour, not 2 days later. There are thousands of buildings like this up and down the country and some have been involved, many are not insured as its cheaper to rebuilt and suspect that will happen here. It will all come out in the wash once dealt with.

We used to use Dell ones for our users who did lots of work that needed the display and keyboard/mice when in the office. Saved breaking connections. I bought a second hand one for my work laptop when I am at home, mainly to dock on and charge without the hassle.

Absolutely massive commitment of resources seen here, 6 counties have supplied resources to help battle this. Biggest concern last night was the ammonia tanks going bang for the refrigeration but they have managed to stop that. Getting water seems to have been the biggest issue by looks of it and then once inside its like a maze which is dangerous to commit Firefighters into. Hats off to those involved they have contained it well and not caused too much local disruption purely down to the size of the site.

On the iPad it doesn't come up as you have to go to server:9191/client and use the web based client to select your one. You would generally only be logged into a PC or a Mac not both at the same time, regardless when it does pop up I have had it pop up on 2 machines I have been logged into and I accepted on the one I was working on and the other disappeared once selected.

If you are keeping existing piping and radiators get them to power flush the system and then install the magnaclean. I've got issues with my combi at the moment, its around 12 years old and have intermittent issues with hot water, could be PCB or diverter valve, always works when plumber comes around, takes me a few resets but does fix. He said he would just be chucking money away best bet to try and get a few years out and then replace. Different plumbers seem to favour different brands, key thing to look at is the warranty on them, some are doing 12 year now.

Sorry misread the topic earlier, you cannot see the secondary server, I was thinking of site server. If it was me I would install mobility print on your main server and publish the printers to iOS via that, do away with the Max server. No real need for a Mac server now using mobility, so much easier to admin.

Does the secondary server show as online/connected when you login to the PaperCut interface? - - - Updated - - - Also is the mobility print service running?

If it says it exists already rather then creating a new port click on use an existing port and select it from there. Failing that, install it at LPT1 and then go back and the port can be changed afterwards.

Can you tether it to a phone in hot spot mode, does it get an IP address then?

Go to devices and printers, add local printer, select standard TCP/IP Printer, enter IP, then port of 10001, tick query and next and see what you get from there. If you get no where just click cancel.
