Sharepoint calendar? Public folders have been withdrawn I think now.

I'm going to state something really obvious, why not just pick up the phone and call the parent using a good old fashioned method, no extra downloads required, no signing up to anything just a call you can answer? Everyone can manage a call and then there is nothing to go wrong really. Give them a time and say to expect a call from said number or withheld if the number is within a 10/15 min gap either side sort thing. Why are things been complicated here?

I've never put PaperCut on Canon, could be worth a look through here if you are struggling.

Is that domain controller running NPS/Radius that might be configured for these devices? We tend to point anything domain related at the FQDN rather than a single DC and generally it works these days.

Have you rebooted the copier to see if that helps, I know someone only apply settings after a reboot. I know on Sharp's as soon as you revert the code option it lets you print once you reboot.

Are these domain joined laptops, if so just map the printer via GPO. If not MobilityPrint providing they are on your network will be what you need.

We use WinAuth in a similar situation.

I don't get what you are trying to achieve here. Surely there would be an ID badge attached to the lanyard?

Personally I would keep well away and get an electrician in, they are likely to still be producing electricity and you could get a shock if you start prodding and probing around. If you have a power cut would you start messing with the incoming supply? Health & Safety at work act, the electricity at work regulations are two things that spring to mind.

I've just had an issue that I don't understand so wondered if anyone else does. We have laptops connecting either via WiFi or DirectAccess when away from the office. There is a secure site that is routed back to the network that works fine over DirectAccess so comes back in and out via our core. Connect the laptop to our WiFi so all traffic is routed over our fibre back to the core and it doesn't work fully, site does load but part of process fails. Added the URL to trusted sites and it works on WiFi now, yet site works on laptop when on DA previously. I'm guessing its something to do with the way the network profile is trusted but I've never seen anything like that before. Anyone help me out here?

We work 24/7 so have a need for this 1 week in so many get paid hourly rate. It only covers category 1 calls, failure of network, a computer if another is not available, certain password resets, loss of telecoms and staff who work mobile who need access to systems in short. Anything else they are reminded to log in normal business hours. Might be other little bits and bobs but that is the general of it, some weeks are steady others are hell. The weekday evenings are not bad but weekends are a write off when I'm on call. I'd quite happily give it up, stressful week of them all for me. I think we do about 5 weeks a year.

With SDP at our end its purely used for IT, systems log their work into it as we all come under same remit and work together. The other solution will be separate that other teams with mailboxes will use and will not be managed by us other than hosting the server. Key staff have been on training for it to get the best out of it for what they need.

@kieran1990 did you get sorted with that, once you understand how the driver works its quite straight forward, its quite easy to programme in a pre-set on the driver and export it and import to another machine.

I've had every brand of copier going over the last 15 years and I wouldn't use anything but Sharp these days, from a user point of view they I think they are the best. I did spend 7 years working for a dealer I did say 1200 Sharp to 20 Toshiba so have seen the models change too. I have trained, installed and fixed both and still hands down Sharp for me. Yeah some of the other machines do things slightly better and have some little features on but Sharp wins. I currently have 40+ that I manage on PaperCut and get no issues what so ever other than users causing issues or general maintenance. I've installed desktop Sharp's right through to the the big repro machines. Nothing is perfect and Sharp do have their moments no more so that other machines but they are so customisable to your needs from an interface point of view, the web page is simple to use too, they come with so many more features out the box compared to others, integrating them into PaperCut and some other solutions is simple as its just served up as a web page and no extra modules needed. I have used card readers and biometric readers with them and no issues. Do know your volumes and make sure you get the right machines for what you are doing, they do do mono machines, dealers don't like selling as it doesn't make as much money as a colour one but they do exist so you can run similar machines from a user interface point of view. May not always be the cheapest I know others are a lot cheaper in some places but its not just about the cost. They also have a feature to stop the toners been removed unless empty not sure anyone else has that yet. Feel free to ask any questions, I have worked both sides of them so can answers from both sides and I will give an honest answers too. Some say the colours are not as good as others from a repro perspective but then they are not classes as print room machines unless you go high end, personally I never even noticed!

Similar situation we use ManageEngine Service Desk Plus for our IT Helpdesk, we had issues where a shared mailbox was becoming more of an issue so they have bought Support Centre Plus or equivalent so all mail gets filtered straight into that and a reference logged, full audit trail and tick the box. Going forward other teams are looking to use this and get rid of the shared mailboxes in their current form, will still be needed but the software will take care of it all. All gets log, a full audit trail and work can be assigned to different people based on rules set which can filter emails etc, much easier than 20+ people in a shared mailbox!

It's against the terms to download simple as. Just because they can do it at home doesn't mean its right.

We have had a few drives for our sans second hand from a server refurb place, had a few over last 18 months and no issues, can dig details out when back in tomorrow.

So with the Teltonika can you use it in bridge mode? I want to link to an existing pfSense as another interface and but have it as just a modem say?

That is the same one provided by EE but is pictured with a small antenna in their picture so sure will be able to get a better one to mount outside. I need to get hold of a 5G device and see what speeds are like here before I look to go any further. It does appear to support bridge mode but may be restricted by the operator. At the minute I have to go back to double NAT with my VM router (testing and have to take it out of modem only mode) so just put the pfsense box in DMZ and done it that way. Need to do some more digging and see what my options are really.

I am looking to move to a 5G internet connection are there any 5G modems/routers I can purchase so I can then connect into my existing pfSense setup that come with any recommendations? I know the likes of EE provide a router but after something a bit different that I can mount an external aerial on the roof and pop the cable through the roof and go from there. Had a look but not much standing out to me so wanted to see if anyone one here had anything yet. Thankd

We lock ours down using a MDM, cannot install apps off the playstore, our MDM has its own "playstore" we publish apps to and they can install from there. Disable the location service been turned off so can still be tracked if lost, if there are only specific apps they need chuck them in kiosk mode with just them apps published. Disable USB connectivity to stop data been transferred on/off, can also set it to once they sign into the MDM app which is linked to AD is setup the Outlook profile with the credentials just need to pop in password (its not setup syncd yet). Just off the top of my head they are the key bits.

Although there is the limit set by the banks it was clear that last year when it was raised many shops have it set on their systems and this had to be updated too so not sure how that works and why they have limits.

One domain that is a real domain, update DNS appropriately, makes things far easier. One domain for users using the same, this is where your OU's come into place i.e. ours is Domain.org.uk > Root > Organisation > Computers/Users/Groups/Servers etc. That way you can apply everything in one place, also staff likely to move around sites it will be seamless. Causing yourself headache having multiple domains to be honest. Centralise services such as say if you use Unifi have 1 controller, use sites feature, 1 print server, save on licensing costs etc etc.
