From personal experience Sharp have the best interface for the users to use the machines, some of what you would do on them its not as easy on the others. The PaperCut inbuilt scanning wasn't available on all manufactures I know Kyocera was one of the first with Sharp but this may have changed. The others might come in cheaper but what are their extra charges for things like support, do they install and configure everything for you or are you expected to do it all, what are their response times like. Obviously existing PaperCut can be used but additional licenses will be required to change from one manufacturer to another. If you have card reader technology is that included? Also look at the cost per copy charge, would you end up spending more if that is higher?

We provision all the AP's prior to going out and installing them so its just plug and play. Have a third party come and install them for us as not allowed up steps and some need data in the ceiling as they are just dotted around currently. Easy enough to do yourself if your allowed and have the tools, I've done a few at home and friends.

Really as an origination you need to risk assess and decide what is best on weather its allowed or not. Our stance is that Teams is our platform to use and anything we initiate has to be through that but if a third party is hosting a call weather it be Teams, Zoom, GoToMeeting, WebEx what ever it is then they can join a call using that platform unless its something unknown its quite safe to join.

Had this discussion with a few people recently, my recommendations are always: Intel i3 or i5, Ryzen 3 or 5, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD minimum, watch out for eMMC drives, Windows 10 Home or Premium depending what is available. Size depending what is needed same with touchscreen etc. Brand wise depends what there is, eBuyer is my go to place for stuff but have recommended refurb kit to a few people as that is more than enough for stuff like this. Would never recommend something I wouldn't use myself.

The bloke I've used for all mine in the past advises about using the link from the server as if it goes down it doesn't work, he's always wired a relay in either for each door or done one for each building, all depends on the setup as some doors you may wish to stay secure and then break glass if needed.

Anyone setup Eduroam on Unifi recently? Need to migrate from currently Aruba just wondered if anyone can point me to any good resources and things to watch for on Unifi?

@nadeem that was possibly my thinking. Just need to look at the SPF side of things with that. If I am doing that I would probably just as well doing a mail flow rule possibly. Take it no one has done it here then?

Thanks to @HPlum78 in this, Dmarcian site was a massive help and my domains are now sorted, slight issue with one domain which had a - in it, O365 has created some bits on the end for the DKIM record when creating the DNS records. If anyone is struggling DNS entry wise give me a shout, the issue with O365 enabling has been fixed if you have the right records in place so its a good test if you have got them right. Using Dmarcian I have checked a few public organisations that I deal with, very few have DMARC, SPF & DKIM all setup properly or are nearly there but have errors in it. This is something I have been working on for ages but had issues so glad to get it all done and sorted now.

What is the best way to set this up, this is for me at home. I want to create an alias of [email protected] which then forwards to an external address (contact) such as [email protected]. Don't want to create a mailbox or incur the license fee for a mailbox just want them to be able to have an email address on my domain that sends to them.

Gonna throw something in here, obviously if a proxy is set on your browsers the split tunnel will be worth less as internet traffic will be coming back via your proxy server.

Resolved mine this morning, the cname wants to be selector1._domainkey and not selector1 then as above and it lets me enable it. Just need to let things refresh and I think its all good.

When I enabled DKIM in O365 I get the following error: CNAME record does not exist for this config. Please publish the following two CNAME records first. {0} {1}

Handy site if your not aware of Hattons, I got introduced to them for some other models (non train). I love the model rail setups, the time and effort that goes into them and then brought to life by the trains. Got some friends who are into their trains, one is a driver the other its just a hobby but has been on the footplate working one before. We have another hobby which is Fire Engines and often gets mixed up with steam stuff, a couple of years ago we supplied water to a steam run through York one Friday afternoon amongst other events. All hands on and get to use what you have.

The few bits I have are more eBay items but then what what profits in them end up spending more time dealing with it. None of it is particular difficult to get hold of just seems a shame to skip it but its only collecting dust now. Think I'll stick to just buying from there haha

My go to shop online these days is Amazon but there are times when you have to go on eBay for what they don't have or those random things or something in particular that is older that you need between the two they serve me well. I've been on eBay over 17 years now and probably spend a few hundred quid a year on bits, especially when it comes to doing up old vehicles its amazing what you do find parts wise. Anyway I've always left feedback as soon as items arrive but recently more and more the seller or even the buyer on a rare occasion I've sold something fail to leave feedback even after sending a message saying I've left them can they do the same. Does anyone else find this? It's never affected my feedback rate but surely for those that don't use it a lot its good to see full feedback? I know its something I look at when buying certain things is their feedback. Also eBay and their free listings that then end up costing you and PayPal fees, just lost £5 on sale due to all that (apparently it tells you in the small print!!) nothing but hassle selling on their, just gonna bin stuff next time its far easier!

I personally would have them all domain joined, login as themselves, can access resources as if they were in school. You have control over them and you know filtering works. If your concerned about traffic on the VPN look at split tunnel and the way you filter but for me connected and VPN one way or another all the way.
