I did FPL for the first time last year and enjoyed it, I would join an Edugeek league if there was one

We added chat.openai.com to our HTTPS inspection exemptions in Smoothwall to get it to work.

Have a look at Schoolbase by Furlong: https://furlongschoolbase.co.uk/furlong-schoolbase/ We used it when we were an Independent school and also when we moved to become a free school. We did both the DfE returns using it and the ISC returns over the years, however it has been a while since I used it as we now have SIMS (don't ask it wasn't my choice!)

What filtering do you use? I remember when we setup WONDE I had to create a category in our Smoothwall for WONDE to allow several sites to pass through unauthenticated so that WONDE login page would show rather than the spinning wheel of doom.

We had something similar with one of our staff, who was registered and setup with the correct permissions from last year, but this year she just logged in using the Microsoft Logo and got a blank screen. Our SIMS support team said it was because she could authenticate with her Microsoft Account and log in, but her account was actually linked the SIMS ID account which is why she was getting a blank screen. We had to go to https://admin.sims.co.uk/ and use Manage users - unregister users to unregister her then re-invite her, she could then re-setup and we made sure she used the option 'Register with an External Account' and link it to Microsoft (in your case Google) I think if they put their e-mail address in the activate your account on the link page from the activation e-mail then it won't work when they sign in with external accounts, you get the blank screen. Also looking at our student user guide for first time sign in it has changed since the last time we did options-online and it isn't quite as intuitive to get the students setup so they can login with their Microsoft Account, possibly due to the change to ESS?

Thanks, it is WONDE that is preventing the add account, I worked round this by disabling WONDE SSO during a planned maintenance window, added the student accounts to the personal device, then re-enabled the WONDE SSO. I have a ticket open with WONDE so hopefully there will be a solution to this so I don't have to disable the SSO every time we need to add an account to a personal device

We have WONDE setup here as a SSO for Google Classroom, all works great, however some parents have got personal Chromebooks for the students to use during lockdown, when they go to Google Classroom via WONDE it won't load. The solution I have used in the past that worked (I think!) was to get the parent to add the students Google account manually as a second account to the device once logged in, however when they try to do this now the WONDE SSO takes over and signs them into WONDE rather than adding the Google Account. I tried adding a network mask of our external IP range to the SSO setup within the third party IdP setup page in Google Admin, which kept the functionality on site and allowed the parent to add the second Google Account on the personal device, however it turned of the SSO from WONDE to Google Classroom for all the users off-site and then required them to enter their google e-mail and password to get into Classroom. I have a ticket open with WONDE about this but I am not sure there is a fix. Does anyone here use WONDE and Google SSO and have a solution for getting personal Chromebooks to sign into Google Classroom without turning off the SSO? Thanks

We have found that the Insights data doesn't full appear until the next day, we were (are) trying to use it for tracking attendance and engagement but this delay is causing problems! We are also suggesting to staff to use the meeting attendance download at the end of the meeting but again this is causing issues, it appears at the moment tracking attendance is the biggest issues we have with the way we are teaching remotely.

I was given this link by Paxton support a while ago, it seems to have the latest versions of Net2 on; http://www.paxton.info/1438 This is the one for the Door Entry software if you have any door entry systems; http://www.paxton.info/1907 We tend to run updates every main holiday to keep it up to date

Thanks for all the feedback, very interesting, I am unsure of the costs for this project, however in the past when internal doors have been discussed I know they were looking at about £1000 per internal door which is why we only have a couple at the moment. The £1000 would cover the Net2 control unit, powered Mag Lock, reader outside, push button inside, fire alarm integration, break glass, fused spur and installation. I think on the basis of feedback here I will not put forward any objections to the wired solution, I just didn't want the school to go down one route and find out that it wasn't the best route as they have a history of installing things here without researching them correctly! Thanks once again.

We have Paxton Net2 setup at our school for the external doors, gates and a few internal doors, the Estates team have been asked to look at putting it on all the classroom doors (over time) to restrict unsupervised student access. They were looking at using Paxton Air Bridges and PaxLock wireless door handles, however the Paxton installer they are using has said the wireless solution does not work well on a high volume access door (if only teachers have door access to the classroom is it high volume was my question?) and are wanting to daisy chain Net2 controllers via RS485 in groups of 4 or 6 with network links back to the server. My question is does anyone here have Paxton Net2 setup on the classroom doors for access? If so do you use wireless or wired and how to you find the setup? Thanks

We are running the summer release version 7.188 The traffic is coming from SIMS, their support just won't acknowledge it. When they re-branded they have failed to correctly setup http://www.capita.co.uk http://capita.co.uk resolves and redirects to capita.com Your 'fix' using the blockpage works and the internet test now passes in SIMS. Next step is to get capita support to acknowledge this and fix it. I will remove the blockpages as the test doesn't actually affect anything and will wait for a fix from Capita. Thanks for all your help

Thanks for the replies, I tried a live chat with Smoothwall support yesterday before posting here and they said it wasn't possible. I then found this thread so I thought I would see if it was or if it was a depreciated feature. I will try again with Smoothwall support, but first I will also test your idea @ibpalle. The reason behind it is we are having a odd issue with SIMS.net services internet connectivity test failing. When I look at the Smoothwall log for the PC that I run the test on it calls out to http://www.capita.co.uk which I am unable to resolve, either at work or at home. My thinking was if I redirect to capita.com which does resolve then it may pass the test. Just out of interest can either of you resolve http://www.capita.co.uk? I have logged this with CAPITA but they say its a filtering/firewall issue at our end and say that they don't call out to http://www.capita.co.uk for the test. They gave me a list of urls which they use, all of which I have whitelisted and can resolve OK here.
