Sync AD Accounts with 0365 Email
MatthewL replied to discoveranother's topic in How do you do....it?
Yes it would be to just ensure that the email address is populated in AD so when PaperCut sync's it had the data for scan to email. -
Internally Hosted Dropbox/OneDrive Solution
MatthewL replied to MatthewL's topic in Enterprise Software
Surprised no one has mentioned it but I believe FoldR can do exactly what I am looking for following a few discussions. Just waiting for confirmation and I will look to evaluate that with there been UK based teams/support. -
That is purely the tape supplied in the box, what about the physical machine do you see any differences other than the model?
-
Can anyone tell me the difference between these 2 devices because to me they appear to be the same. Brother PT-E55WVPNI Brother PT-E550WVP Then the PT-E550WSP which I think is the same as the above except extra tapes.

Internally Hosted Dropbox/OneDrive Solution
MatthewL replied to MatthewL's topic in Enterprise Software
That's not our issues its a service to do that, they need to check that it matches what is showing on the live system and only they can do that. Got to have options, could be a BC issue and building cannot be occupied, so grab tablet and go with the information on. Cannot do that with computer to easy. These are options we are looking at. There will be various sync points depending on service. In my eyes its more for the world ending and will be a waste of time but just ticking the boxes. -
Internally Hosted Dropbox/OneDrive Solution

Working on the basis there will be no internet available. @mavhc - yes that is going to be included as part of it the users will have a check list to carry out. They are good suggestions but got to work on the basis the information maybe on a tablet of other OS as an option. -
Internally Hosted Dropbox/OneDrive Solution
MatthewL replied to MatthewL's topic in Enterprise Software
There won't be any external access to it, it will be used internally to sync files from a server where a data dump will happen and then to PC's on a locked down network on site over our VPLS network. -

Thank you for the replies, some bits there worth investigating. @TechMonkey - we have the data on our network and it needs to go to a PC where it can be opened and read in a business continuity event. @mavhc - will have a read into that, it may not end up been iOS but wanted to factor it in. @chris_uk - DFS no good, machines will be off the network with limited access to things and will not be domain joined. Having a quick look at the replies there are some viable options, just need to investigate further and see what if anything is suitable. -
I am in need of an internally hosted Dropbox/OneDrive solution, that will work on Windows, Android or Apple devices. Cannot use anything internet facing simple as so need to find a solution free or paid for. Have a batch of files on a server that need to be synced to various devices with minimal intervention from IT, talking GB's of data. A sync solution is the only way around it we can think unless anyone else can. Anyone aware of any products out there, sure there was something before but was a long time ago when it was looked into. Cheers

Noticed the WD reds are 5400 in speed when I was looking. I have bought some CMR ones recommended product on a newer product code for what I need. Luckily my NAS is only for backup purposes and not intense data access, have noticed some prices have started to drop for hardware now but these will tide me over for whats needed.

Thanks for that post @msi_school, interesting read. Going to use these drives they are the replacement to what is recommended and they are cheaper.

SD card would probably be best option. Maybe put the installer for VLC on there too!

Remove the icons out of the public desktop folder then if not needed.

Cost of living crisis 2022 - what have you cut back on?
MatthewL replied to Ditto's topic in General Chat
I've already thinned out what I can before this happened, I just simply don't have the spare cash to treat myself now and again like I used to. One big saving has been fuel not been out everyday and when I do go out I work it all in my favour with after work plans etc. -
Change rule 3 of the jobs forum to *require* a salary range?
MatthewL replied to pete's topic in Comments and Suggestions
If there is no salary on the job in the past they have gone straight in the bin, if they are not open at the first stage them what will they be to work for and I don't want to go through a process to find the salary is half of what I am earning already. -
What are your thoughts on these, 1 and 2 are same products just different size battery, looked at PowerOak/Bluetti, Anker and Jackery, Anker do not have anything suitable. Need a weekend's worth out of it for phones, maybe a TV, laptop and odd light. Bluetti EB150 Bluetti EB240 Jackery 1000

I have had various Vonage numbers over the years and its worked, I used to pay around £15 a month and I got my worth out the package at the time, now I don't use as often I wanted to keep my number so I ported it to Andrews & Arnold and costs me £1.20 a month. I have a 3CX server at home and app on my mobile so can use with that or direct on a app. I pay for my calls but they are minimal so very cost effective. I'm actually going to buy a couple of handsets to use/test with, no real need for it but handy if the mobile network goes down. When the time comes with PlusNet to move my Dad's I will port the number to AAISP and link to my account and do it that way, probably look at the Gigaset N300 I think it is, allows PSTN but also SIP trunk on it.

Yeah its on the same network, nothing has changed, think its phone system side but the support company has conveniently lost the details for the onside server. The only thing has changed is that it got a new IP address as its on DHCP and we changed something there but all on the same scope and on the same range as before.

Does anyone have a SNOM PA1 on their network? Speakers on ours works but when we call the number it doesn't work, any suggestions?

[ms office - 2016] Access Query - find * in string
MatthewL replied to MatthewL's topic in Office Software
Thank you, exactly what was needed. -
I have a set of data in access and in one of the columns there is some that has *** in the middle of text and numbers either side. The 3's * are characters 9 - 11, if I just search on * it brings all 26k records up, is there a way I can great a query to find these and change for an alternative character to enable finding a bit easier?

Hi DalekSec that is the script I am using to install with no issues. We have ours on Windows but its a pain to update and its resource hungry. I will have another look at them, they are similar to what I have looked at but other steps.
