Thanks @KevinH - I've done all of that now. I think the issue is with the WSUS server this time is that I've had to rebuild it so it cannot cope with the sheer amount of updates coming down. I've also finished setting up AdamJ's Clean-WSUS script (v2.06) so hopefully I'll run this at lunch time and set it to run weekly. Gareth

Afternoon, I'm trying to install SQL Management Studio on my WSUS server and it fails telling me that KB2919442 is needed for it to continue. So I've downloaded it and tried to install it only for the server (2012r2) to tell me that this update is not suitable for this server. Yes - I have downloaded the correct version. Any ideas why this would happen? Cheers Gareth

So after the issue with the broken WSUS update being fixed, I've now got another issue where the WSUS Application is stopping in IIS8 (on 2012r2). I've read that this is due to WSUS struggling to recycle memory and so giving up. When I re-start the app in the IIS8 application pool it all works again. I've upped the WSUS server to 4 virtual cores and 8Gb of RAM but it's still happening. Has anyone sorted this out and can offer some advice/ Thanks Gareth

That command seemed to fix it - but when I run a manual sync I am losing connection and am asked to 'Reset Server Node'. Running that command fixes it. Tearing my hair a bit now. GJE

Right, well I'm a bit stuck. Those updates are not on my WSUS server - so they cannot be removed. However if I run the "C:\Program Files\Update Services\Tools\wsusutil.exe" postinstall /servicing - command and it fixes it for a while but then it dies again. Sigh. Gareth

You might just have saved my WSUS server here. I noticed it last week and even re-installed my WSUS installation. It still wasn't working properly - Googling found some issues but only today am I remembering to search Edugeek. Thank you - will try things tomorrow or maybe VPN in later.

Just thought I'd pop in the day after my final long run - 20 miles yesterday in the bag in just over 3 hours. Looking good for a sub 4:30 marathon - but it may be Sub 5 as I've not run this course before. The wind down starts now. My body has totally changed due to the new diet I am following and I'm getting close to the same weight that I ran Paris in 2014. This diet is made up of all the superfoods. It must be working as I do not ache as much after the runs - plenty of recovery protein in my food. I've also been following the Kinetic Revolution series of stretches which does help. I'm leasing a Ford EcoSport 1.0 litre at the moment via yes-lease.co.uk - really happy with it. We had a Fiesta 3 door via Ford Options and were paying £149 a month. Then that came to an end and we needed a 5 door car so it seemed to make sense to lease. I have no worries about it now. There was a ~£300 paper work fee which I thought was a bit steep but due to the time of year I leased, I didn't have to pay a deposit (which I didn't have anyway). It's a really nice car as well. We are now paying £179 a month for a safe car. I'm allowed 10k miles a year. Hope this helps - ask away via DM if you want more info. Gareth

I've found CAUGwyrCyp9 listed in the AD along with another called CAUGwyrCyp93DQU - no idea what they are. The other 4 make sense but these two do not. I'm wondering what would happen if I disabled them. Gareth

Afternoon Everyone, If there are any HyperV experts out there, would someone be willing to help me understand the errors we are showing on our cluster from a 'simple speak' point of view? Our cluster is working fine. Cluster Aware updating is good and all VMs have been updated with updates from our WSUS server. However in Failover Cluster Manager we are seeing errors with the following IDs: EventID 1205 : The Cluster service failed to bring clustered role 'CAUGwyrCyp9' completely online or offline. One or more resources may be in a failed state. This may impact the availability of the clustered role. EventID 1254 : Cluster resource 'GwyrCAU' of type 'Distributed Network Name' in clustered role 'CAUGwyrCyp9' failed. Based on the failure policies for the resource and role, the cluster service may try to bring the resource online on this node or move the group to another node of the cluster and then restart it. Check the resource and group state using Failover Cluster Manager or the Get-ClusterResource Windows PowerShell cmdlet. EventID 1209 : Cluster network name resource 'GwyrCAU' failed to create its associated computer object in domain 'school.education.swansea.sch.uk' during: Resource online. The text for the associated error code is: Access is denied. These errors are all linked to our second note (HyperV2). I've no idea. Help. Cheers Gareth

Morning all, The LEA are finally moving ahead with their centralised installation of SCCM. It seems they will be delegating access to our part of the OU and giving us access to the management console etc. We have our own MDT and WSUS server and have a software deployment share on one of our other servers. My question is - how would I be able to configure the central installation to use local servers? Did that make sense? I don't want to use the LEA WSUS server for example. I realise they would have to set this up - but can it be done? This information could affect other schools in the LEA so it would be handy if possible. Finally - does anyone have recommendations of websites/books for SCCM? Looking to get my teeth into the deployment side after spending so long with MDT - want the zero touch option :-) Cheers Gareth

Training is going well. Nearly there now - 5/6 weeks to go and final 20 mile prep run is on the way. I ran 18 miles on Satuday and it went very well - just under 3 hours so that's just under 60 mins per 10k which I am happy with. I've changed my diet to be more healthy. No beer, a takeaway as a treat on a Saturday only. I took some advice from a nutritionist. It seems to be working as I've shed a stone and am not aching after my long runs (touch wood). Anyway - thanks to everyone who has donated. Thanks to two companies on here that also donated (Millgate and ICT Direct). Very generous. Remember I am running one of the toughest marathons in the UK to help sick children have a better quality and chance at life. Thought I'd pop in after some weeks off thinking about tech and trying to relax. Training for the Snowdonia Marathon is going well. Past 5/6 weeks have been quite intense and as I reach the end of week 6 I am a bit empty in the legs so am taking the day off tomorrow before running a 14 miler on Sunday. Otherwise things are going well. I was away for two weeks in the caravan with the family but managed to train quite a bit - in the heat. I follow this most weeks, but when I am 'proper' event training then I go into the 30 day programme: 30 Day Challenge - Kinetic Revolution - Building Stronger Runners James is a great guy and responds quickly in the Facebook group to questions etc. Gareth

Afternoon, We had a new 378Pro board fitted yesterday with a Promethean Short Throw projector. When we turn the projector off, the computer monitor goes off as well. There is no way of turning it back on without turning the projector on. There seems to be a vga splitter in the board - but shouldn't it keep the monitor on even with the projector turned off? What are we missing? Driver update? Gareth
