  1. What is really annoying about this whole Microbit issue is seeing other schools in their videos etc all enjoying with their devices. Heck - we've even filmed the Welsh films for the main website but they took all the Microbits back. I'm not even allowed one - and I was filming too. Twitter is full of teachers that have been given devices - all going on about how cool they are. How have they been given them? Why did they even bother advertising the device in the first place until they were sure it was working and going to be available? Gareth
  2. Just had an email off Amazon to say my book is ahead of schedule and will be here next week. Gareth
  3. You are welcome here anytime.
  4. Maybe it will come under the EES license :-) If not - then I will not be renewing after the first year.
  5. I saw this. I also notice it says current Edu customers will get the first year free. Hmmm - does this now mean we will have to pay a yearly cost?
  6. Can everyone shut up about Bett please. I'm having FOMO GJE
  7. Sending them now. Dan you dm me an email or do you want them via dm? GJE
  8. Getting this with Windows 10 since updating MDT to U1 and then U2. Not tried a new Win7 reference since we updated. GJE
  9. I notice that they've left the Suspend task out of the instructions. I'm sure that was in the original article. Or maybe it was the book. GJE
  10. I'm going to leave it. Thanks everyone.
  11. Thanks @elsiegee40 - That's what I thought. I don't think I'll bother but I feel as though I am missing out. Severe case of FOMO Gareth
  12. Morning all, I've not attended BETT since it moved. When it was at Olympia parking was great and I could leave Swansea at 5/5:30 on a Saturday morning and be there in plenty of time. My school are a bit short sighted and refuse to let me miss lessons to go (I understand that of course) - so I'm debating once again going on a Saturday but have no idea of the logistics of this new location. Swansea to London is M4 but from there what am I looking at? I don't want to stay in a hotel as the school will not refund me so it would be up and back in a day. What are others doing of great distance doing? Gareth
  13. Yip - not sure what I must have been doing wrong. GJE
  14. Has this been pulled? Cannot find the download anywhere. Page not available most of the time when navigating from the blog. Ohhhh it's back now. Strange.
  15. I was joking of course. I like my cars - but I don't drink, I don't smoke and I don't spend a lot of money on useless things (honest). Gareth
  16. Just change it and cross your fingers - then fight the fires and blame everyone else :-) Gareth
  17. Thanks everyone. Interesting reading. I'm just a snob that likes to drive new cars :-) GJE
  18. Opinion eeded. Mrs E and I are looking at leasing our second car. Does anyone here lease their car? I know there is the argument that you never own your car - but based on how much a car loses when it leaves the forecourt - does that arguement fall down? We have a T5 but our second car is a 2013 Fiesta - 3 door. We pay an amount to Ford each month on their Options scheme - but I can get a 5 door EcoSport on 2 year lease for less than I pay - with a new car every 2 years instead of 3 years. We are fickle about our cars and whilst neither of us are big car people (besides the T5 love) - we do like to change them and get bored easy. The lease car then get's changed every two years. The lease company pay the tax for two years but I have to service the car. I'm also limited to 10K miles a year. I do 7000 tops in the Fiesta but do not want to worry about driving limitations. In this day and age where subscription services seem to the norm (coffee, razors, music etc etc) - is a lease the way forward? Sorry for the post - just after opinion. Cheers all.
  19. Look out - last time we discussed this sort of thing somebody had a right old go at me about network security. #yolo GJE
  20. For those that enjoy reading the work of Johan Arwidmark and Mikael Nyström then they have released a new book in their Deployment Series. Here is the information: [h=1]Deployment Fundamentals, Vol. 6: Deploying Windows 10 Using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit[/h] US: Deployment Fundamentals, Vol. 6: Deploying Windows 10 Using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit: Johan Arwidmark, Mikael Nyström: 9789187445217: Amazon.com: Books UK: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Deployment-Fundamentals-Vol-Deploying-Microsoft/dp/9187445212/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1452250845&sr=8-1&keywords=deployment+fundamentals+vol.+6+deploying+windows+10+using+microsoft+deployment+toolkit It wasn't in stock in the UK until yesterday. 3-5 week waiting time. 21. Does anyone know of a free application for running on a network that is similar to this? WinMessenger - Easy to use WinPopup and Net Send replacement that works in any Windows version Gareth
  22. I've just tried again with the latest version of Windows 10 Enterprise and the same issue is apparent with freezing during the sysprep phase. Here is a screenshot.
  23. What about the Microsoft Virtual Academy stuff. Ask @rich_tech - he's done a few. GJE
  24. I assumed UE-V was the way forward and had started researching - but I guess from your post that it isn't that straightforward. Oh well. Gareth
  25. Has anyone got UE-V working in their environment? It seems like something to look into when considering Windows 10. I am in the middle of our R&D stage with Windows 10 and UE-V was mentioned around these parts. Seems like for redirected start menus and desktops it's the way to go. We currently use GPOs and GPP to configure our network. Get in touch if you have any advice/pitfalls etc. Gareth
