Weirdly enough - our OneDriveMapper script is not working this morning. Neither can I reach http or https login.microsoftonline.com - so that could explain why the script isn't working Gareth

No @User0 - I've given up to be honest as it's a busy time of year with my teaching. I've even given up playing with manual installs of Windows 10. I feel Win7 is servicing the needs of the school just fine at the moment so I'm not rushing. After reading some of the threads on Edugeek I think it will be a while before I bother again. Gareth

Looks great but as Hwb is a Welsh Government tenancy I do not have permissions to add to my SharePoint site. I've just tried it and it stopped me. Aarghghg- why do simple things have to be so tough. Gareth

Interesting again - I can do it on files that are created by the user in their own space - but I cannot copy a shared file to create a local cloud copy (if that makes sense). Every child has to have their own copy which originates from the copy the teacher created. So distributing it is the issue. GJE

Yes - that is what I want but there doesn't seem to be an option in the OneDrive for Business web site to do that. One would assume you could right click and 'Copy to....' But it isn't there. Gareth

Morning, Bit of a noobie when it comes to OneDrive for Business and Office365 so hopefully someone can help. I have created a book in Word and want to share it with the pupils. They will need to edit it using Word Online (on Chromebooks) - but they need to take a copy from the Shared area and make it their own - I assume by saving it into their own OneDrive. I cannot see a way of doing this at the moment. Any advice? Many thanks Gareth

After some chat at home - we are getting our daugher some dress up clothes. She loves dressing up in my boys superhero stuff - so she is getting some of her own. Not sure what else to get her. I'm trying to keep my boy away from technology as he isn't interested in anything other than the house iPad. However, he has recently started playing with my Dad's DSXL. He has offered that to me, with box, pristine condition for £35 so I might get him that and see how he gets on. Better than buying a full price one and he doesn't like it. We bought him a LeapTV last year when they came out - it's been on the shelf since Boxing day and not used. That is currently on FB for sale - with a load of games. The MP3 player is on the cards. We've seen the Lego one but I don't think they make it any more. There is also a Nerf MP3 player but it seems quite expensive. lego - Yes Dolls for daughter - Yes I'm sure there will be other stuff. I tend to spoil them and than baulk at how much I've spend. GJE

Evening, So what are people getting for their kids this year? I have a 5 year old boy and a 2 year old girl. Boy wanted Tracy Island Thunderbird Set - but at £80 with no vehicles it is a bit crap. So that's a no. I know we are getting him an MP3 player (he loves music) -but not sure which one yet. It won't be an Apple device - so any advice? I've seen a nice Nerf MP3 player but again it's pricey. I'm getting a bit tight in my middle age. Has anyone started their Christmas shopping? Gareth

Yes indeed. We have 8 of them here today (and mine in the drawer). They are pretty cool and the kids are enjoying using them. Keep an eye on the photos by following @techgwybgwyr Gareth

Had my Microbit through the post today so have been playing a little bit this evening with it. Seems nice. I'm filming with the BBC tomorrow with 32 kids all using Microbits. Should be interesting. Anyone else got one yet? Gareth

Can you not find the GUID of the application in the registry and then use a PowerShell script to remove it on logon or machine switch on? You "rest your case" - bit vague. Give your opinion by all means but don't just walk away all high and mighty. It brings you over as slightly condescending - that's not nice, and I'm sure you are a better person than that. However - you run your network how you want to. I'll do mine. Enjoy your day. Gareth

I love the tone of disdain in your message :-) Let's be honest though - we are a school. I want my Computer Science pupils to use the application whenever they want - not just during lesson times. 'At my grade' - not your place to point that out. You have quoted 'cus I have to teach' - that wasn't in my message so you are putting words in my mouth. Whilst I do not have to justify my decision to you, I can assure you that we have looked at the situation and do monitor it. I'm sorry if some one 'at my grade' is such a disappointment. In the 16 years of looking after this network we've not had a day's trouble. Gareth

With our redirected MyDocuments/Documents we let them run .exe files from within the Visual Studio Projects folder. I'm sure that one day one bright kid will realise they can run applications from that directory and the decision will probably bite me in the bum - but never mind. I'm sure people will think I am too relaxed. Gareth

Hi @sted - yes the WAIK is updated for Windows 10. I[m stumped to be honest so I am going to spend some time re-installing MDT and WDS. Change to a more powerful server. I'm not going to do it right now - like I mentioned, it's only R&D and the deployment side is working fine. Something for after Christmas I think. Gareth
