Why is it so difficult to tie down iPads? I am currently using Apple Configurator 2 - but there are so many settings that cannot be set - Location Services is one of them. We have a legacy meraki account but I've never really used it. What are people out there using for supporting their iPads? I wish they were as easy to configure as our Chromebooks. Cheers Gareth

So it's that time of year again when I look at re-building the desktop image which will be used for the next six months. I create two images a month. If I stick with Windows 7 for the next 6 months then it will be for the year. So do I invest the time in researching Windows 10? Do any of you regret switching? Do you wish you were still in Windows 7? Has anyone created a checklist of things that need to be taken care of? Pitfalls etc? If I start the W10 path (I've tried before) what do I need to look out for? What about profiles - mandatory or roaming? We don't use a profile now, but I will need to look at Outlook settings following the user in future. Waffly message sorry. Gareth

Bit random but I've been asked by my deputy head to find the installer for NovaT4. He knows that T6 is there but prefers to work in T4 - years of working using that. I do not have the installer - can anyone help? He has had a new laptop so needs to re-install. Cheers Gareth

I just find it hard to believe that Microsoft do not go and sit with educational/technical specialists like the people on here and work together in a real school environment to see what really needs to be put in place. As pointed out - okay maybe we are not the end people MS want to focus on, but we should still be considered. Gareth

Afternoon All, Could anyone help me with an Azure question? We have worked out (thanks @EduTech) why we cannot create a custom app in Azure - basically it is because we are on the free tier. We want to implement this: Room Booking System - Online Room Booking Software - and make use of our SSO. The company have provided all the setup instructions but due to our level of Azure we cannot do it. So - what have other schools got? What do I need to pay? Any help is appreciated, Gareth

Nope. I choose Custom Application, I click the tick on the bottom right and it installs Box Not ideal and is currently a barrier to us signing up for a service. Gareth

We use ours with a database of machine names held in the SQL database that MDT uses. It saves a lot of hassle to be honest. New machines are added as they arrive at the school. Gareth

Okay. I think. Still doesn't help schools that want to use the latest tech but cannot configure it. Software companies really do need to realise that our children are their future. Adobe are another example - stupid pricing for software that could in theory be given at a HUGE discount. Gareth

Still seems like Windows 10 is a pita to deploy(I mean configure) so I'm sticking with Windows 7 which works great. :-( - Shame really. I do wonder whether Microsoft actually listen to schools and those on the coalface when it comes to making their products configurable. Gareth

Not sure what you mean - I just need the staff to be able to authenticate against our Azure AD with their school credentials when using our potential new booking system. I've spoken with Room Bookings System and they too are seeing the same issue. Gareth

@EduTech - James can you advise on anything here? Seems to be a bug in Azure.

I'm actually too embarrassed to say. Despite having seen this issue before and linking it to a Windows Update - this time it was a lot simpler. Someone had unplugged the main switch in that room - cutting off those printers from the server. Wasnt' me I should add - but I should have checked a bit more before looking for a complex problem. Worked it out in the end. Was simple.
