  1. Yes, had an alert at 00:25 this morning for an email from June 2021.
  2. You can get a JAMF filtering add-on https://www.jamf.com/solutions/content-filtering/ or other 3rd Parties like Lightspeed. The built in Apple filters will only do adult sites and sites you specify. So likely going to have to spend £££ on a a plug-in filter.
  3. Can the device actually resolve the name fasfs01? (ie do nslookup fasfs01 on a terminal window). If it cannot you have a network configuration issue. Presume Search Domains are set to in the network config or its at least getting that configured by DHCP?
  4. Remember back in 2015 when Microsoft said "Windows 10 will be the last version of Windows" ?
  5. Did you never apply for this last year? https://www.schoolicts.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/DfE-Gigabit-Broadband-FAQ.pdf
  6. I kept thinking Publishers days were numbered since they never released it for Office in the web browser, iPad, Android or Mac and never really got any new features.
  7. We use Lightspeed for iPad filtering (JAMF Pro as MDM). It seamless to the user, they don't login, you push an MDM Web Filter setting, you deploy the Lightspeed client App, and use the MDM to assign the Username to the device. So long as it all marries up the user does nothing. But this is in a 1:1 deployment situation. Lightspeed will also scan Office 365 content too, so their OneDrive and emails for safeguarding content. If these are shared iPads then I have no idea how it would work.
  8. A3 on ESS with a Chest agreement we pay £48.72 per Staff member a year, students at no extra cost.
  9. JAMF Pro we have 2200 iPads managed by it in our Trust.
  10. I would say https://www.issabel.org/ , it's a fork of Elastix to keep it open source after 3CX got it. It's what we used and what we migrated our Elastix system over from.
  11. We had SIMS/PARS before. The only part we found SIMS does better than iSAMS for us was Cover. But everything else we much prefer iSAMS, the Exam Manager found Exams in iSAMS vastly better than SIMS, the person who deals with Timetables and putting kids in Sets found the process much faster in iSAMS compared to SIMS. Reports/Assessment we much prefer in iSAMS. We like it has Apps (Teacher, Parents, Student & Report Writing) , all the pupils have the iSAMS Student App installed on their iPad for viewing their Timetable , Reports and Event/Conduct logs. They introduced a new feature called Student/Pupil Registers a few years ago which we got the enterprise version of, it allows you to make your own module like sections to store data, which can be displayed and linked on the class register too as icons with links. We use this for all our SEN data now, if they have anything SEN they get a coloured Flag next to them on the take a register screen for that class and clicking it takes the teacher to more info on their special needs. Sometimes the Helpdesk can be hit and miss, most the time you get somebody really knowledgable and helpful at the other end and other times you want to bang your head against the wall as they just don't seem to get the issue. You would have to send us kicking and screaming back to SIMS, though.
  12. Yes, we are a state school and have used iSAMS since 2017.
  13. We paid £45.12 per staff member in November for M365 Education A3. All student A3's included at no cost. Thats with an EES Agreement.

  15. I don't have Impereo, or Mosyle, but guessing you would need to push a PPPC setting for auto approve the permission. Use this tool to make the PPPC Profile for your MDM. https://github.com/jamf/PPPC-Utility
  16. 2D Design V2 behaves very well in WINE, so I just used Wineskin years ago to make a bottle for it and and deployed to our Mac Labs, Technology have used it ever since no issue.
  17. Think of the Instance as a SQL Server. You can have more than 1 instance, and each one can have its own files, databases and security. The best analogy I can think of (though analogies don't always translate perfectly), is think of each Instance being a HyperV VM on a Hyper V Server. So you have HOST = Windows Server 2019, Server = HyperV , Instance = HyperV VM , Database = The data on the VM.
  18. Sounds like the AD Bind is a JAMF Policy, and it's set to run once per machine. When the device re-enrolls in JAMF after re-installing macOS it will use the same machine record, which will have logged that that device has already run the AD Bind Policy previously, so no need to run it again. So you need to flush that policy, go to the device -> history -> policy logs and press flush next to the policy that binds AD.
  19. I still need to play GTA 5 properly. I loved the original GTA and GTA 4, but 5 never hooked me so never played it more than 1 or 2 hours.
  20. I think Apple are just being more aggressive than they usually would at ending support because they want Intel chips gone, so MacOS won't need to ship with 2 binaries, hence the installer went from around 4GB to 8GB when the M1 chips came out. We still have over 100 2014 iMacs running fine on Ventura and Sonoma , OpenCore patch them, it's not much different than forcing Windows 11 on to PCs that don't officially support it. macOS licence terms are that it can only be installed on Apple Mac's, or within a VM on a Mac, its not like hackintoshing which is against the T's and C's.
  21. Yeah the shiny wrappers looked much better.
  22. Nom Nom Nom Nom
  23. Not Caramac, but while talking about discontinued Nestle chocolate If anybody misses the Coffee Creams from Quality Street you can get them again for a limited time from the Pick n Mix Quality Street in John Lewis. Paid £15 for a 1KG tin and filled it full of nothing but them.
  24. Go to the device -> history -> policies and flush any polices you want it to run again.
  25. Can you get Zen? They give you a static IP, have actual Tech support at the over end, don't oversubscribe their network and guaranteed no price increases mid contract. But it is £40 a month for 300Mbps.
