Hi,, Just wondering if anyone has one of these copiers running on 10.6 (and partly that mac_shinobi will see this - I didnt want to hijack another thread). Now Ricoh tell me that 10.6 is now supported and have sent me a link to apple support to download some extra drivers, I have these installed but cannot get anything to print via our print server (Win2k3). I can however on one machine get stuff to print directly but ideally I need to print via the server.

This usually works for me! there is a little util called fancontrol which installs to system prefs. Its a great tool that lets you set maximum temps and minimum fan speeds etc - i use it on a macbook and although its noisier it stops you from being able to cook on your thighs!

does classroom bookings currently support LDAP or is this coming in V2?

I had some similar probs with several Mitsubishi units and it was the lamp ballast that had gone not the lamp. not worth repairing so replaced them (with Optoma's! )

Ive just upgraded our enterprise console but haven't tried installing on 10.6 yet. I imagine the easiest way will be how I did it on 10.5. Connect to a share with the setup file and COPY it to the mac, then run and install it as normal.

I saw on thier site yesterday 2970s but not sure if thats a direct replacement (they looks the same anyway )

Wireless network kit - suggestions please
dirtydog replied to Kitkatninja's topic in Wireless Networks
Ruckus kit here now (thank goodness no more standalone DLINK APs!), all N access points. It does a lot more than I realise now with the firmware updates Ive had in the last year or so but its easy to work with. Have a chat with the guys at Net-Ctrl they know the kit inside out. -
Id always fibre between buildings if possible but I cant see the speed thing being an issue. I had an odd problem recently where I couldn't load a WDS image on 1 or 2 machines, a new switch roughly the same spec works fine though! When I get a sec ill update the firmware and try again.

Yep we also use them.

any one used/uses bloxx?
dirtydog replied to Phillip1983's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
yep we have had it for a year or so and as mentioned support is fantastic! cant remember how much we paid for our setup (appliance) but it was competitive or we haggle a lot (maybe both). -
I think we are using our Windows 2008 Data center to activate that and anything below - thanks for the links.

there is some kind of script you need to run with the KMS key AFAIK on the server for it to act as a license server. it needs to reach a threshold of 25 clients (or 5 servers I think) requesting activation before they will activate though. maybe look at the info/vids from Microsoft then you'll most likely be as confused as I am. does anyone know of a tool that can run on the server to let me know how many machines have requested/been granted activation?

I tend to buy mainly Optoma EP727i (replaced ish by EX531 I think as we have a couple of those now) - they are DLP and very good for classroom use, I think the colours are pretty good.
-
you too? we are replacing a room at half term if all our win7 testing gets done in time but some machines will be reused so loads of shifting around. I've still got some new switches to put in too and a new projector or two. sounds like we'll all be busy!

cheers guys nice to meet you all for a bit of a natter (Bett 2008 I had only just found edugeek!). I'm still confused whose real names and usernames go together partly due to the "hello my name is..." cards which I thought were a great idea and provided great amusement when my badge needed to be scanned and was showing the wrong side! thanks for the case sticker thats made its way onto my de-badged Dell E6400 and of course the Pizza!

A man was crossing a road one day when a frog called out to him and said, "If you kiss me, I'll turn into a beautiful princess." He bent over, picked up the frog, and put it in his pocket. The frog spoke up again and said, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a beautiful princess, I will tell everyone how smart and brave you are and how you are my hero." The man took the frog out of his pocket, smiled at it, and returned it to his pocket. The frog spoke up again and said, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a beautiful princess, I will be your loving companion for an entire week." The man took the frog out of his pocket, smiled at it, and returned it to his pocket. The frog then cried out, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a princess, I'll stay with you for a year and do ANYTHING you want." Again the man took the frog out, smiled at it, and put it back into his pocket. Finally, the frog asked, "What is the matter? I've told you I'm a beautiful princess, that I'll stay with you for a year and do anything you want. Why won't you kiss me?" The man said, "Look, I'm a computer programmer. I don't have time for a girlfriend, but a talking frog is cool."
